Ministry during Quarantine: Rehfeldts in Uruguay, May 2020
Просмотров 5864 года назад
I recently spoke to our church family about how the Lord’s prayer teaches us that both material and spiritual blessings should be taken as gifts from the Lord (Mt. 6:11). Micki and I are pinching ourselves right now because of God’s provision of a beautiful property close to the seminary. In this video we talk about the beautiful new property, ministry benefits from the quarantine, and how the ...

beautiful and edifying! Oh I loved this brother! Really to God's glory, thank you!
Brother this is gold. Thank you so much!
Slight correction at 8:07. σῴζω didn't have its last letter absorbed into the tense formative. There is an iota subscript under the first omega that makes the verb act like σωιζω. The -ιζω is deleted before the formative of the perfect tense. This happens more visibly in other verbs in -ιζω like νομίζω (νενὀμικα), κομἰζω (κεκὀμικα), βαπτίζω (βεβάπτισμαι), and καθαρίζω (κεκαθάρικα)
After working through the Philippians I had the big pleasure to see your grammatical highlights. Thank you.
Thank you for your help!
Who else is a student of koine?
cool pal and everyone be safe in Christ God Bless ps John 316 Holy King James Bible my Favorite bobble verse.
Thank you so much for this presentation . I learnt a whole lot.
Oh man that is eisegesis on verse 22 that is a divine passive εκκοπτω just like the next verb in v 23 is a divine passive εγκεντριζω
Thanks for the comment Falconguy. I will look into that!
Jonathan! I have a quick question. 1 Corinthians 15:20. "those having fallen asleep".There are 2 participles used here. Present and Past. Is the verb referring to the past and the present or just the past?
Hi! I may be missing something, but I only see one participle, the perfect middle one at the end. Are you asking about the timing of that participle? Sorry for my late response... I keep up more with our Spanish channel these days than with my own channel!
❤❤❤ Thanks for this video it is very helpful.
The indepth teaching that I needed. Thanks!
This is so good. God bless you Sir 🙏
Yes, but where is the rest of the letter ?
Hi Thomas, I'm sorry for the late response here. I may revive my channel someday, but for now I am more committed to my other channel, El Seminario Bautista de Colonia (in Spanish). I was not able to finish the letter! Have you studied Greek?
Hi Jonathan ! Did study 40 years ago. Forgot it all, but started again 2 years ago. Went through Daily Dose and will try to go on. Thanks for a good start in the Ephesians
Sitting today enjoying your video in Norway.
What English translation do you recommend for reading the bible? Thank you
Hi Timothy! I apologize for the late response! I do not follow my channel as much as I used to because I spend so much time on our seminary channel (in Spanish), El Seminario Bautista de Colonia. I recommend the NASB, ESV, and NKJV.
@@jonathanrehfeldt2206 Thank you so much! I cant wait to get into the new American Standard! I really appreciate the videos you posted aswell! Just a side follow up question, so obviously the nasb bible dose a really solid translation of the greek like you do in these videos? Because the pure greek/ Hebrew sentiments and understanding bring a whole other dimension to bible reading. And some of the other not so good translations can cause people some misunderstandings....well besides the intervention of the holy spirit guiding people. Thank you again my brother!
Thanks Bruh, for the clear teaching and the encouragement to keep the understanding of the Word of God in view!
Hi :) Is it possible that in Philippians 4:3, the word "γνήσιος" and "σύζυγος" can be for a woman? From what I researched, "σύζυγος" can be either masculine or feminine, but people say that because "γνήσιος" is masculine, it means that both are masculine, therefore Paul is referring to a masculine being. Could it be that "γνήσιος" is not masculine in the text? Or that maybe the fact that "γνήσιος" is masculine, does not mean that "σύζυγος" is necessarily masculine? I'm just trying to understand the verse and so far I'm stuck.
Hi Estelle. If the adjective is masculine, so also is the noun. Yes, both are masculine. I don't think the gender of these nouns is essential to understand the text, unless one wants Paul to be writing to an individual female for some reason.
@@jonathanrehfeldt2206 Oh! Thank you for replying! Yes, I was actually trying to understand if Paul was writing to a female. But according to grammar, it doesn't seem like Paul was. He must have written to a male. I just wanted to know if this passage could be used to say that Paul was married at one point. But it's unlikely now that I see it referring to a male. Thank you so much for your time and help!
Dang it, how did I just now come across your channel. Now I feel sad😭
χερετε λεγομε κορι im in mass-care to chill in public and practice greek?

I do not know if this will work, but here is a link to some notes I have taken on Romans. These are notes up to Chapter 5 and I have worked up to chapter 13. Some of the notes may need explanation and I'm sure some of the hyperlinks will not work. Thanks. I'll pay attention. I have added you to my prayer list. Your ministry sounds important
I wanted to a apologize for being harsh, I was in a hurry and made my comment too quickly. I must say I love Romans and Greek and it is nice to here you talking about my two favorite subjects. I could not find any thing else like it on the internet. Thanks
I appreciate and accept your apology, of course! I did learn from your comments and understand where you are coming from. As my reply is coming so late, you can see that I have not kept up much with my English channel. But, I am teaching Greek again this Fall, so will be more attentive! Have a great day.
I listened for a while to learn some "grammar", but you did not say one thing about anything that has to do withgrammar
Hi Randy, thanks for pointing this out. This series of videos are all titled "Grammar Highlights", and in some I talk more about grammar than in others. I will certainly take your observation into account when creating other similar videos. I am a missionary and focused on making materials in Spanish right now, and am doing a lot with Greek in Spanish. If interested, please let me know.
@@jonathanrehfeldt2206 I just noticed your reply. There is no more important work than being a missionary. I will start to mention you in my prayers
This is excellent!
Thank you for taking time to put this on line for others.
My pleasure!
I'd give you a few more thumbs up if I could.
Haha, thank you Dan.
Brilliant Jonathan! Good work.
Thankss

Which text book are your students using?
Hi Jason, Sorry this response took so long! I am spending more time on my Spanish channel these days than on my English one! We always used Mounce, but we switched this year to Beginning Greek by Plummer.
@@jonathanrehfeldt2206 Thank you. I’m learning Greek at our church. Because I work it’s hard to make the classes. Your videos have been helpful.
Thank you so much
Wonderful opportunity
May the Lord continue to bless you. Let me know if you are ever coming close to Las Piedras or Montevideo.
This is wonderful, honey!!!! I will pray soooo hard. What an opportunity!!! We will talk soon!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️mom
Thank you for the explanation. You should put out your own system. You are 300% more clear and more engaging than Mounce's system and that's what my seminary is using.
Agreed
interesting point of view
I'm struggling to teach the Aorist tense to my home group. My only Greek is via using Strong's Concordance and the interlinear bibles on Blue Letter Bible. Any helpful links would be appreciated. The letter of 1 John seems to be a good candidate to illustrate the Greek Aorist tense.
Hi. I am From South Africa 🇿🇦and English. Can you please use a translation.
This is what I have been struggling with. Thank you so much. 2nd Aorist is formed from the root. While the imperfect is formed from the present tense. You explained it so well.
Thank you !!
You're welcome!
Oh honey!!!!I just found this.....I love this!!!!!❤️. Mom
Wonderful update, honey. ❤️. Love, mom
Thanks Mom! Love you too!
That´s great Jonathan! I did the Truth Project in seminary too. Awesome to see al your work in Colonia. We are pastoring in Las Piedras, Canelones and also doing our best to diligently train our people in the Word with some theology clases I´m putting together for the church. You probably don´t remember me, we met when you first got to Uruguay in Montevideo.
Hi Facundo! Yes, I remember visiting with you in those apartments in Prado! You were very kind to give us that invitation and help us practice our Spanish! It was very good to hear from you and we hope you and your family are doing well! I don't know if you would be interested in our book, but I could send you a complementary copy if you want. Just let me know. Saludos!
@@jonathanrehfeldt2206 for sure! But I would also be glad to pay for it.
Great Video. Love the update. Miss you all and love you. Praying today for you all. Praying for revival in USA and Uruguay, your wisdom, and the men at the seminary that they are encouraged, loved, and Enlighted as they grow closer to God to be servants of Christ. Praying for Micki and Owen. Great Job on your channel growth. God is always working and blessing.
Great to hear from you Aaron! Thanks for your prayers. We also pray regularly for you, Leah and Hosanna!
I stumbled on your channel, great to see your ministry and family.
Hi Ryan! Good to hear from you! Hope you are well!
