    • @mattrhodes5947
      @mattrhodes5947 5 месяцев назад

      Great question! Yes the Buick Enclave's exterior length is slightly longer than the Traverse itself due to the trim and design being slightly different. The platform they're built on is the same as the redesigned 2024 Traverse and the 2024 Acadia with the 2.5L 4 cylinder Turbo motor.

    Shout out to Matt! This may be a dumb question but I notice it has panoramic sunroof but doesn't have the 22 inch rims. I thought the only way you get that is with both. I ordered mine without bc as weird as this may sound I don't like the 22 inch rims. Anyways maybe someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks

    • @mattrhodes5947
      @mattrhodes5947 4 месяца назад

      All good! There's a ton of different ways you can build one up & that package you're referring to is the Denali Reserve package which includes both the 22 inch rims & the panoramic moonroof in one. Also it adds the 16 speaker Bose sound system and performance suspension so it's quite a few upgrades in one. You can skip that and add just the moonroof as an option however without the Reserve package (assuming GMC doesn't put that on constraint).

    Turbo engines The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like and air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbo's pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. I have built engines and turb's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo.

      Yes and no, previously you had the 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder or the 3.6L V6 engine as available options in the Acadia. When you compare the horsepower you actually go up with the 2.5L Turbo 4-cylinder (328) vs. the 2.0L (220) or the 3.6L (310) so you may be surprised. They still have the available options of either FWD or AWD in the redesign of course.

    • @jrighteous1984
      @jrighteous1984 8 месяцев назад

      @mattrhodes5947 so they throw in a small turbo and get 18 more horses ? I'll pass on that , I rather have a Naturally aspirated V6 engine that's been proven the test of time with less stress , 4 cylinders on huge vehicles go through more stress , the more weight the bigger the engine should be , if we are talking about a small Honda Civic ok ill take the 4 cylinder but a full size SUV 6 passenger , nah .. you'll see they will have problems in the future

      @@jrighteous1984 True that

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated 8 месяцев назад

      @@jrighteous1984No you’re just really behind in engineering and technology. Modern day 4 cylinders are much stronger than they were 10-15 years ago. Like previously stated an even smaller 4-cylinder used to be the base model engine and was adequate in power enough to overtake other cars normally if you needed to. The Silverado has even had a similar sized 4-cylinder motor that was designed to tow and haul - they’re apparently built to be more durable than you’re willing to accept. You do not need a 4-cylinder 2.0L turbo engine to move a Civic moderately quickly. These days, that’s a performance engine for a car of that size. You’re just way behind the times, like many uniformed Americans who want to reject the change and “downsizing”.

GM has been using this 3-cylinder for a few years now so there's plenty of Encore GX and Trailblazers with them on the road. I'm far from a mechanic myself however having sold vehicles for the last several years it really comes down to proper care more than anything. Speaking from personal experience mechanical failure is always a possibility regardless of how well you maintain your vehicle & until that happens don't be afraid to drive these as you should.

      I wish they put the 1.3 in it, GM does make it, its just a tweaked version of the 1.2 that makes more power without using more fuel. They offer it on the Trailblazer and Encore. Tiny turbo three bangers are actually quite good though. They sound better than four cylinders, and in the Nissan Rogue they even make 225ftlbs out of a tiny 1.5L. That used to be what your average V6 engine would make not that long ago.
