I film trains and ships in the Michigan area!
Federal Asahi (Salty) Gives a Salute on the St. Clair River In Port Huron, MI (7-20-2024)
The Federal Asahi is a Bulk Carrier/Saltwater Ship that is under the flag of the Marshall Islands.
The Asahi was built in 1999 and is 199 (656 ft.) and has a carrying capacity 20,659 tons.
On this trip the ship was headed for Immingham, England (United Kingdom) after departing Thunder Bay, ON.
Also while filming this the Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race was occurring, hence why there were so many personal crafts out.
There was also a salute from the small CG29426, this boat can be seen here on another date:

The Algonova is an Oil/Chemical Tanker that is under the flag of Canada. The Algonova was built in 2008 and is 129 meters long (426 ft.) and has a carrying capacity of 11,453 tons. Past names: (Eregli 04 2007-2008) - (Algonova 2008-Present Day) On this trip the ship was headed for the Sarnia Smiths Dock after departing the Sarnia Imperial Refinery Docks.

The Radium Yellowknife is a Tugboat that is under the flag of Canada. The Yellowknife was built in 1948 and is 36 meters long (120 ft.) I have no info about the Barges. On this trip the Tug was headed for Sault Ste. Marie, ON after departing Toronto, ON.

? Five blows of the horn means backing down.
It means there was someone in their way/path. The St. Clair River (the area this was filmed) is quite shallow, and the shipping lane is quite narrow in the Port Huron/Sarnia area, it's not uncommon for small boaters to assume the ships have plenty of room to go around them, even though they can't due to water depth.

based on what news has stated, a car crashed and hit a propane tank that ruptured and flew right next to the warehouse spewing flames inside and therefore causing the fire to break out. i cant be certain as this is news from canada but i did also have a very clear view of it right over the border in sarnia.
