This channel mostly consists of performances of magic tricks I like from books, particularly where there are no other video performances of the effects that I can find.
O'Aronson Aces
The late, great Simon Aronson's take on O. Henry Aces from Try the Impossible concludes the ace assemblies for now.

2 Ace Assemblies - John Bannon
Просмотров 119День назад
Ace assemblies love them or hate them. John Bannon seems to love them and so do I. One of my first exposures to ungaffed assemblies was his "Bullet Train" trilogy from Dear Mr. Fantasy. I have found that his "Big Fat Bluff Aces" from Lucky (I think it's also in High Caliber) is a great lead-in to Mr. Fantasy's Interrobang Aces.
Hungarian Guessing Game - Peter Kane

Also called Gypsy Curse, I got these vintage cards from Kaymar Magic. It can also be done with regular playing cards but I love the look of these old cards, even though they're a bit more difficult to handle. Reminds me a bit of Hustle which I posted on this channel at the end of September.

This lesser-known Bannon effect is an homage to Alex Elmsley's Dazzle. I use bridge sized cards here if they look a little strange.
Slomoco Aces - Dan Harlan

A version of Vernon's Slow Motion Aces where the aces have different colored backs. I used to do Bruce Cervon's "The Red-Backed Aces" but this one has fairer displays although it is more difficult to do.
Dorset - Woody Aragon

This is one of my favorite tricks. Certainly one of my favorite packet tricks. And it can be done with a borrowed deck and signed cards.
Triple Kick Monte - Paul Gordon

Corner of Piccadilly, a monte effect, is widely considered one of Paul's greatest creations. But this one from 2007 is pretty good too. And this set, a limited-issue Ultra Deluxe version, gets me some really great reactions from the unexpected ending with these specially printed cards. Something about the cards really kicks it up a notch. And it ends examinable and does not require a table.
Precursor - Cameron Francis

A couple of weeks ago I did a Cameron Francis effect that ends with 4 Aces on the table and 3 red spot cards in your hand. This is an excellent follow-on effect and in fact I think I have seen a video of Cameron doing just that.
A Matter of Psychology - Bruce Cervon

From his book Ultra Cervon, this starts as a small packet ambitious card but has some unexpected surprises.

I made up this classic Paul Gordon effect myself many years ago after seeing it on one of his DVDs, but it is apparently a marketed effect. I just noticed that if you pay attention, you can see my black cat in the background.

This 7-Card Monte sucker effect reminds me of the Hungarian Guessing Game.

A friend showed this to me many years ago. I have to imagine that it is a published effect but I'm afraid I don't know who to credit. Update: I have been informed that this is a Paul Gordon effect called "That's Not Possible" with a slightly different handling.

It's been almost a year since my last post life got in the way, but hopefully I can start posting regularly again. Some may wish I had stopped for good, but hopefully more of you will enjoy these videos. There are many versions of this plot. Some may like other versions better, and some may think there are a few too many cards here. Vanishing Inc calls it the definitive version of the effect.

Nice trick,story and performance 👍
Glad you liked it!
That's cool that you're taking a break from Ace Assemblies. This is a great one to stop on for sure. A lot of Marlo's students and Marlo himself came up with some amazing ones!
Yeah if I'm not careful I could end up turning this into the "Ace Assembly" channel. 😛 I just wanted to highlight some that people are maybe not aware of.
Very visual. Is this a currently available product or from a book?
It was a marketed effect when I got it, but it doesn't seem to be available any more. I believe it is in a book or two.
Top notch, love ace assemblies. Doing 2 together to try & get it right the second time will really impress ordinary spectators as they woold not be used to seeing this type of trick before.
Yes. Many moments of magic while repeating the same trick with a completely different method. I have never seen these two routined together before, but I think they were made to go together.
Excellent, no flaff, very direct.
It's a classic for a reason!
I am not familiar with this magician or his work, but boy did this trick fool me badly! Thanks for putting this on my radar! Shame Volume 1 is in need of a reprint now but when I can I'll be looking at getting Volume 2 ASAP! Can't wait to learn and get inspired by Kiyoshi Satoh and his magic!
I got these books from TCC when they first came out, and I am so glad I did -- I have done a bunch of his effects on my channel. This one in particular is completely impromptu and part of my standard repertoire. I don't know why only Volume 1 is sold out, but Misdirections Magic Shop in California seems to have it.
@@michaelkolodny4827 Thanks for your time checking out where a copy of Volume 1 could be had! I'm sure someone will nab it before me, as it takes awhile for me to save now and days. I'll get it one day either way though. I'm no stranger to paying top dollar for a book that I really feel the need to study. Would you believe around 13 years ago, I had to pay $150 for M.I.N.T. Volume 1? That's just one example. I have no regrets doing so either. :D
You know, I've had this book since it was first released and I have never studied this... Well, that's about to change! Thank you Michael! It's been years since I uploaded anything to RUclips, but I do have three public videos if you'd like to check them out yourself. Search: Audley Walsh's 32 Card Mystery, if you're interested to see me a decade ago. I don't have access to that channel anymore as I've lost my password to it. In the near future I'm looking to upload on this account and wax poetic about magic! I've got some work of my own to show off in addition to past greats...lots of Marlo, Annemann, Vernon, Hamman, etc. Later today, I'm going to watch more videos on this wonderful channel. Thanks again for this great recommend for me!
Thank you for the recommendation! I certainly did enjoy that! Techno Color Ace Assemblies are amazing. I'll have to put this on the "to check out" list also.
Thanks for watching. It's on Dan's Premium Blend #2 and on World's Greatest Magic - Ace Assemblies Vol 1. But if you want to see the mother of all Technocolor assemblies and have 7 minutes to spare, check out Tomas Blomberg's Technicolor Successive Assembly Reversed: ruclips.net/video/SRuS-ZMXMFc/видео.htmlsi=9NBqdXYzmuLLIsas.
Nicely done!
Thank you!
Glad to see you rockin' some Ace Assemblies!!! One of my favorites by Bannon is called "Masquerade" out of his book Smoke and Mirrors. I'll have to check out Lucky sometime to see the work behind " Big Fat Bluff Aces"!
I have the Smoke and Mirrors DVD and Masquerade is on it. I will have to check it out. If you like Ace Assemblies, make sure you check out Slomoco Aces that I posted Dec 19.
Love it!
Brilliant performance
Thanks!!
Thank you!
Beatiful, one of the best monte type tricks imo.
Some forgotten old tricks are better than the "latest and greatest"
Excellent trick, has a real kicker ending
Thanks. I love those kickers!
Love the kicker ending!
As always, I am a sucker for color changing backs and royal flushes. As apparently is Bannon.
What a wonderfull oil and water routine 👍
Thanks. It is still my favorite version of oil and water.
Very nice.Bannon has a lot of good packet tricks.
He indeed has quite a few, and I like most of them. But this one seems to have flown under the radar.
😊💪💪😊
🙌 🫶
Amazing. Beautiful routine.
Thanks very much
Wonderfull effect 👍
Many thanks
Great trick,very nicely done 👍
Thanks. I think it's my favorite trick from the book.
Nice work! Love the ending!
Yeah just when you think it's over it gets more impossible.
Very nice! Very visual!
I have a few more offbeat ace assemblies coming!
Very good, I enjoyed it. Picasso Aces by Phil Goldstein has a similar theme.
There are so many assemblies out there it's hard to keep track.
Well done 👍😊👍😊👍
I appreciate it!
Very good effect.
Glad you think so!
I am completely fooled!
I was too before I got it.
Nice illusion.
Thank you.
Great!
Thanks!
That was brilliant 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I'm glad you liked it
Excellent trick, lots going on, very good presentation.
Thank you. Yes there is quite a bit to keep track of, but I think the end result is worth it.
Well done 👏 👏👏👏
Thank you! 😃
I tried to learn this trick in his book but I got confused with the handling. There are other tricks like this that are easier to do. I think there is too much emphasis on showing the all backs. John Guastaferro has a trick like this called 'Tail Spin Twist' in his latest book Nth Degree.
I learned it from his Woodyland DVD set. I think it is very magical and I know a bunch of other folks who consider it one of their favorites. But to each their own.
Love the ending!
@@calvintong9575 Yeah, it comes out of nowhere.
Amazing, this routine change not only to Ace and King but also Double Back.
Yes, most people are shocked when the Kings turn to Aces.
Great stuff. I've shared this on my forum.
Thanks. What is your forum?
@@michaelkolodny4827 do a Google search for 'Magic Bunny'.
Love this one! Kicker ending!
I love color changing kickers!
This would make a great walk around packet trick! Love it!
An in-the-hands piece just for you! 😎
Nice performance 😊👍😊
Thank you so much 😊
Excellent trick with a good presentation as well.
Thank you! 😊
The trick is called Thats not possible from the book Goldust by Paul Gordon, although a slightly different handling. Your channel is an excellent source of new material, with very good patter. Keep them coming!
Thank you! I knew the trick had to have been published somewhere. And I have been doing Paul Gordon effects lately.
Pretty cool. Are you working on any routines that do not use a table?
I have done some things that don't need a table, but that isn't my focus for this channel.
Cela manque de rythme et de fluidité. Il faut encore s’entraîner pour que tout cela soit fluide👍
tbh you can understand how it works if u know a couple of simple moves i figured it out on the second time i watched it
Of course knowledge of card magic will allow you to figure many things out. Well done.
I like Cameron's magic. It's easier to perform his stuff because the sleights are complicated. I have all his Moment's Notice ebooks. There's great card magic in them.
Cameron, Liam Montier, John Bannon -- an awesome way to get into card magic
Nice performance 😊😊😊
Thanks 😊
Love this!
Thanks!
Great trick! May I ask what is the name of the deck you're using? Looks cool the way the pips look 👍
Thanks! They are Nexus cards from Penguin: www.penguinmagic.com/p/17491
Great routine. The black card(cat?) is changed to red.
Yes, that's the unexpected kicker ending.
one of the most underrated magic channels i have seen in a while
You're too kind. Thank you!
@@michaelkolodny4827you should really do tutorials man
I know a lot of people do tutorials, but I find it unethical to teach other people's effects. Instead I credit the creator so you can find it and purchase it if you are so inclined.
Great routine. Is this the trick that only black cat knows how to do ?
The black cat is the source of all my magic!
Ohh nice!!
I love unexpected endings, especially color changing backs.
