My friend was right, this is pretty easy to set up on a random system, this is all it takes to do it on the lower level. R2R is less fatiguing , ds Dacs are basically fast strobes trying to make a sound picture . Neither are perfect compared to live sound, but R2R plays music the way music is constructed for the emotion the composer made, rather than a bag of incoherent details slapped together in a DS

    With this kind of speaker do you think a quality silver speaker cable (and or jumper) like the audio note ones you Mention would work well in smoothing things out? As some people say good silver cable could smooth whilst some say its bright. I have the 607 s2 and have found that changing the jumpers really improved things.

    i recently bought the more inexpensive ribbon tweeters that i've found, brand dayton and i might be highly biased by product confirmation but my hypothesis is that all the more expensive models of same brand aren't that much different, and the specs data actually and scientifically shows that my choice gets higher frequencies, 40 kHz. and also it does look very similar to my microphone Ehrlund EHR-E, that goes up to 37kHz, and those ultrasounds are the reason it sounds realistic. the difference between a real sound in life and a reproduced sound is the lack of ultrasounds. you can notice that recording broken crystals. i do have ultrasound hearing range, i can listen to the echolocation of bats. but many parts of my music system cannot reproduce over 20 kHz. the amplifier cuts to 20 Hz to 20 kHz. the mixer interface does have samplering rate of 48 kHz, but i never had ribbon tweeters ever before as to experiment extended frequencies. but the amplifier is a bottleneck, and so is youtube with its narrow squeezed frequency band compression. probably most music i've downloaded doesn't have sound between 20kHz and 40 kHz. but at least i would have better quality 15kHz to 20 kHz the normal highs. i used to collect and hoard speakers from televisions from the floor near the garbages. i quit when i reached to 200 drivers. then i gave away 170 to the real poor and i kept the 30 best sounding drivers, tested both with music and also with electric guitar. the best one so far was from a portable vinyl player made in spain late 60's. it not only has more volume but hyper realistic. then from tv's i have one particular pair that gives the touch of realism to the bunch of speakers of my system i think i am currently running 14 drivers. most them bought, not found in the trash. mainly bowers and wilkins from the yellow kevlar era, modified with some tangband and a subwoofer that i found, then i paired it with similar bought panasonic eastech that sounds too quiet but sounds normal realistic to all the frequencies. it is quite ironic that after spending that much money 600 or so european coins on 4 speakers ( 8 drivers) then adding that pair found in the trash it adds the reality that it seems that someone a real person is actually talking in my room. that is the impression when i plug the cable of that small speaker. and i hope something similar is going to happen when i'll connect these ribbon tweeters, but i am waiting until i can afford the special plastic called delrin in order to make the cabinets. i also plan to fill them with activated carbon in order to do a low frequency absortion at the source of sound, because i care noise pollution unlike my neighbour who bothers me practicing the bass, in example right now and it's 2:35 of the night. i will probably use behind the drivers the acoustic melamine white foam panel called chovacoustic otherwise the activated carbon pellets would touch the back of the cloth of drivers as a home studio musician i will probably shape it not like a tower for dancing standing up but double width so the drivers very close to each other beaming at my ears at the sweet spot of triangle sitting down making songs but also watching movies and youtube. i don't like the diferenciation between the boring flat response of mastering/ mixing monitors and the coloured unrealistic hi-fi audiophile speaker systems. music is music, and the combinations of trial and error are based on comformity of been happy with what i have. at the end of the day we adapt to any frequency response, we get used to it and we only notice that when swapping to say, other headphones. i recently have dr dre pro beats, almost vintage, the authentic properly built ones and not the apple modern cheap component ones. it is awesome in the bass, surgical if you will, to realize the bad bass most publications have. but uncomfortable the physic forces of my external ears flat strangled too tight. the other headphones austrian audio lacks bass in comparison but are comfortable for wearing + 8 hours. the change between speakers vs headphones is a good way to measure if the speaker combination sounds good. i am going to buy as many switches as pairs of drivers, so i will be able to turn on or off individually each pair of drivers in my 14 or 16 drivers stereo system, to match my mood or taste and visitors tastes depending the song. i am expert in combinations. i counted all chords and scales 29 years ago.

    In 2020 you made this video of your reactions to Peter Breuninger's Audio Note system... by commenting on a 2016 AVShowrooms video by Breuninger. In your video you express agreement with Peter's assessment that this system would be the best digital system for a long time to come and you state that it will remain the best for at least 20 to 40 years after 2020. 4 years ago (in 2020) Peter reviewed the Cube Audio Nenuphar Mini speakers/Tektron Stratosphere TK2A3 300BP SE integrated tube amp/Sparkler Audio CD Player system. Here is what he said about the Cube system: "This might be the most magical system I've ever heard." It's stunning!... It's stunningly realistic... in a spectacular way, not in hyper detailed shave-off-your-ears. It does none of that." "The room literally disappears with this system." "It's affordable." "For less than $22,000 you have a system that can compete with multi-million dollar systems. I know because we hear them." "This system is spectacular... the inner detail, the micro dynamics, the macro dynamics... those 3 identifiers... this speaker, I have to give... In this system with this amplifier and this CD player... I have to give it a 10 out of 10." And then he repeated, "A ten out of 10. And then he goes on to say, "This is it! This is it. And as I said, a desert island system." "... this is, again, my desert island system." (Earlier in this review he said that this is the system with which he could happily retire to a desert island.) And he ends by saying, "I am astounded by how involving it is." Since 10 out of 10 means perfect... as good as it gets... I guess Peter changed his mind about what he said in his 2016 video about how the Audio Note Level 5 system is unsurpassable. 😊😊😊

    I am Sorry but I have to say that I dont like the Oto with my AN-J at all. I had it here for testing. It has absolutely no control over the woofers and no dynamic capabilities and makes no deep base. The base is really flabby. The driver gets an base impulse and the driver is literally humming an octova above the frequency of the base impulse instead of producing the impulse because the amp has no control whatsoever. It makes good tone with acoustic instruments in the mids but thats it. Totally boring. This amp really sounds like broken to me. You have to be a real dreamer to have an amp that cannot drive your speakers at all but makes good tone instead. Its so obvious that the amp is incapable of driving the speakers that it feels like a rip off. The AN speakers are great by the way.

    • @RealHIFIHelp
      @RealHIFIHelp Месяц назад

      Yes I have also heard that, when the speakers were a wrong fit for the room typically too big or a shared room and a PC was used as a streamer. But in a more appropriate room and a better version of the speakers going more towards AN-e, but most importantly a much better source, then there was a hell of a lot more control so they were more in tune and working as one.

    • @carlosoliveira-rc2xt
      @carlosoliveira-rc2xt Месяц назад

      @museatex111 An exact visual copy not an exact copy. For example often from China copper cabling is actually copper clad aluminum. I can't verify the material purity of their cables. Another example is that often advertised single crystal high purity copper is not. All I can say is I chose an exact visual copy with the same Nordost Holo plug connectors as opposed to a variety of other regular looking XLR connectors. You could fool many an unsuspecting buyer with these.

      Nope. If you actually did you homework on this matter, you would realize that the new Bird 2 is not nearly as good, and they definitely don´t like me saying that which I did several times online. That is why I did a video on the Bird 1 speakers, they also only cost around 5-10k USD used on the market, and are very close to the new Marten Mingus costing around 100k USD new. I even tried to get them to send me a set for review Bird 2, but they said no. Apparently I was not a FAKE enough reviewer like most other big channels. This channel is all about being the real deal and helping the small guy. No guy who ever was earning big bucks would also write this on his comments. It would be more like: "Thanks Rene for your comment we will soon have the X speaker in for review so we will be able to give our first listening impressions" That is why you know I am the real deal. I say things as I see them, even if it hurts peoples feelings and it makes me no money. It is a huge loss to the community that the Bird 1 speakers are no longer being produced. They were crazy cheap for the price back then, and even more now on the used market. Yes I like most Marten Design mid to higher level speakers. But I cannot get along with their prices.

    that's a very foolish statement obviously you haven't heard every cable in the world and if this cable is using OFC wire that's the cheapest crap wire on the market. if you really want to hear the best cable go buy some Neotech Sahara or Amazon rectangular OCC wire it'll blow this wire out of the water but then you probably couldn't afford it.

      I have heard most cables up to the date of making this video. Once you are on my level, and have heard several thousands of cables and have owned over 100 brands, then I will start to listen to you. The ones you mentioned are stuff you use on lower class systems, so of course you have a reality of everything is the same and everybody is wrong. And that attitude gets you maybe up to owning a Mcintosh 6900 one day.

    One of the "bigger" problems for those of us new to AN is the naming of their products (particularly speakers) and the relative benefits / differences between each option. Within the AN range alone there are - 15 options for AN-E alone. The basic choices (ignoring finishes/stands) are: Field Coil or not; Base Driver Hemp Cone or Paper; Internal or External Crossover; and Copper or Silver internal cables. There are options within these choices as well.

    • @thelastofthedinosaurs
      @thelastofthedinosaurs 29 дней назад

      @@RealHIFIHelp I am just thinking that the sound will be too cosy for me and that I dont get the single ended tube magic. On the other hand I really can imagine accuphase with AN speakers sounding really good, substantial, full frequency spectrum and dynamic/powerfull sound. The Accuphase quality and tuning probably complements the tuning of the AN speakers well. It is solid state power vs. tube magic.

    I spent about an hour at a dealer listening to Devore O96 with a Nagra stack, then as I was leaving the dealer played me some Martens with an EAR stack. I thought the EAR gear sounded much better than Nagra, no way I would say Nagra beats it, especially with price factored in. Now I own a EAR 88pb phono. EAR FTW

    I have had quit a few pairs of Snell type J and type E speakers in my life. The Snell Type J was easy to drive with high efficiency. 92/93 db. The Snell type E was extremely dynamic with correct amplification. They didn’t need a lot of power to drive them because they were made for low powered valve amplifiers. Each speaker was closely matched with drivers and crossovers. You probably obtained a pair of Snells which someone had tried to improve but failed by the sounds.

    you don't have a clue about audio engineering , and shouldn't be giving an opinion on something you know absolutely nothing about . I have a high end hardwirrd amplifier and still shit . ATC SCM ASL MONITORS sound more real than any passive speakers connected to some type of amplifier .

    GET SOME LARGE ATC SCM ASL 3 WAY ACTIVE DYNAMIC MONITORS . PASSIVE LOUDSPEAKERS WITH DIFFERENT AMPS ISN'T THE WAY TO FORWARD .
