The MHA attend the upper Hayden Heritage centre earlier in the year we had a great venue to use indoor and wind free perfect for hovering fun

Beautiful and very detailed model of the SRN4 in my favourite colour scheme. I also like the name "Hoverlloyd" of the company. And the steering is also nearly like the real thing. Only the lift fan seems to be a little weak. Replacing all seemingly brushed motors with brushless versions might help to improve the performance a lot.
Good to see this model running, l originally design it based on the full size craft at the Hovercraft Museum, it was built 1:12 scale. I ran out of time to finish it off so sold it on, and this is the running model. Looking good.

Why does the skirt need to protrude so far? Is it possible to bring the skirt radius in and parallel to the edge of the hull?
this kind of skirt is the best for an rc model to drive on land and water because a skirt like you would build (c-skirt) would fill itself with water
Surely that is an excellently working model of the original Cyclone. The skirt is really good. (Roy Smart also made a very detailed model). (Simple Cyclone has one engine?). Wonder if there are any Cyclones surviving. The folding wings used a plastic hinge which would eventually perish?

This is a replacement of our earlier video to reflect the fact that we've found that Meshmixer doesn't keep the scaling of the pattern correctly when exporting to SVG format, so we've added a workaround into the video.

Gorgeous piece of work. (How long does it take and is it built as from original SRN6 blueprints? Ps, did you know a number of pilots on the clyde SRN6 ended up piloting the SRN4's) PPs, I also read the Hovertravel SRN6's were using 50% of profits made on skirt wear alone. - (from: On a Cushion of Air: The Story of Hoverlloyd -- 700 pages - Publisher: Robin Paine and Roger Syms)
hi thank you its about 3 foot long at a guess built by Mark porter in 1986 i revived it a last year at a bare ply stage and installed new motors and painted it yes thats a great book i need to read it again sometime

we use double sided tape under the decks and double sided tape on the bottom of the hul with duct tape to reinforce
Hi, I built the RC Griffon 200 Td and i'm finding it difficult to attach the skirt. Could you tell me pllease how you have attached your skirt and what did you use?

Hi, Im after some plans for one of these hovercrafts, i remember as a teenager they gave them away in a RC magazine, i started to make it and never finished. I always regretted not finishing it, but cant find the plans. anyone got a copy at all?
You can find plenty of plans for model hovercraft by typing in 'RC Hovercraft Plans' into Google. As for the SRN6 I'm not sure however.

The SRN1 needs more power as it's not hovering high enough.

How are you measuring the speed on your transmitter. That's a cool piece of kit. It's quite quiet too. Must be a very good lift fan design.
