Let me preface this by saying i love OZZY and i love DIO! Both their contributions to Sabbath and their careers are phenomenal! With that being said i don't think DIO is wrong in what he said! He is reasonable rational and an intelligence beyond compare! Just listen to his lyrics and his strength to not give in to what ANYONE thinks! R.I.P. RJD!👍🙏🏼❤
Ronnie had a career unlike any other rocker …because he was about five to ten years older than his peers….so while they were teens watching Ed Sullivan, he was a working, touring musician, doing doo wop….and he toiled and toiled in bowling alleys and clubs and developed along with the times….i bought the book that his wife put out but it was disappointing….i read that he actually opened for the Stones in 1964 in New York….the stories that man had to tell, it’s just a shame that we didn’t get them all written down ……what an amazing career …
Ozzy never grew up and the shenanigans he and his wife got up to are now legendary in the the worst way, can we say 'white trash'? Dio was a classy articulate guy as well as being a brilliant singer and songwriter. RIP Ronnie!
I love DIO but I think his response here to Ozzy was a bit OTT as Ozzy did say he thought the DIO Black Sabbath music was good but to him was not Sabbath.
Black Sabbath had ZERO to do with Ozzie's solo success and Ozzie was the reason that Sabbath was selling so much back catalog at the time of this interview not the other way around like Dio claims.
Dio is so much more talented than Ozzy and people just don't want to admit it. I'd rather listen to Dio than Ozzy anyday. Both legendary but Ozzy is just a character not a singer. RIP Ronnie
I agree. Sabbath is my favorite band, but the post Never Say Die Ozzy is a sad clown. Plus his solo career is just what others have made for him to plaster his name on. He's just a character for american audiences.
I saw BS in 1980...no Bill Ward :( ...but it was still good, also saw them in 78 before Ozzy split...and oh course VH was there. Man am i glad i grew up in the 70s ✌️
Ozzboring is the worst singer in rock, an animal-torturer, a wife-beater, and semi-literate (which is why Geezer had to write the lyrics). Dio was the opposite in every way!
Ronnie sure seemed Jealous of Ozzy.Ronnie is the better singer but you compare Ozzys first to albums vs Sabbaths first 2 with Ronnie Randy made them way better.
I remember listening to Rainbow and Black Sabbath in the mid 70's. You barely heard either one on the local radio stations. Granted, Sabbath already had a jump start on Rainbow by 5 year's. From what i remember, most people really weren't into Black Sabbath. I guess it was because Styx, Boston, B.O.C., Aerosmith, Kansas, Steve Miller, Deep Purple, Kiss, Lynyrd Skynyrd and other's got more air time? I may of heard paranoid once a week or twice? I remember asking class mates about Sabbath and they replied who are they? Nah, im not into them. Or they suck. Forward a couple of year's into 1978, then the rage was Van Halen. Ozzy was fired. Sabbath was back in 1980 with Dio and I remember hearing Neon night's on the radio. I went and bought the album. It was great!! I think 1979, 1980 & 1981 were magical year's in hard rock/metal. I think people were tired or burned out on Styx, Journey, Kansas & Boston being overplayed? So much of a transition happened. AC/DC lost Bon Scott & came back with Back in Black. Ozzy being fired, then solo with Blizzard of Oz. Black Sabbath with Heaven and Hell. Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Van Halen... I believe Ozzy was a lot better solo than with Sabbath. From blizzard to no more tears, I think was his best work. I got disappointed with his music after that. It seems like there might be one or two songs that's worth listening to? I haven't bought any of his music since 1992. Dio? pretty much every CD up until his demise. I believe Ronnie was a much better vocalist. I like them both, so i can't say nothing negative about either one. They both gave us a lot of music to enjoy. Sadly, as we age, we yearned for more metal like during our youth. But time's have changed. We only got a few groups from 40+ year's ago to listen to now. EVH, Randy Rhoades, Dio, Bon Scott & so many other's are gone now, but their music will live with us until our demise. Long live rock n roll!!
Thank you RJD for speaking the truth!! For far too long people have been afraid to speak up concerning Ozzy. The truth is the truth and like it or not Ozzy (and his classless bride), are everything Ronnie says here.
Ronnie says he's not here to spit any bad blood but at the same time goes on to say, "I'm here to say what no one else is saying about Ozzy in the past 12 years." It's none of Dio's business basically. He agreed his time with Sabbath wasn't actually Black Sabbath, but then goes to say Ozzy is a very non musical singer and that likely the band ended because of incabability, not out of choice. He literally has no proof or idea, just speaking out of 3rd person happen stance. It's funny how he tries to sound like he's being nice and at the same time continues to jab unnecessary statements. I like dio, but had no idea the drama was at this level. And I must say, Dio is only participating in the drama here, not quelling it or neutralizing it. Dio also says in this interview that Tony plays more musical riffs that Ozzy wasn't capable of singing over. Just look at fuckin Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman. Ozzy is a highly talented and musical singer.
Ya, i was just thinking the same. I’m kinda out of the loop on this, ive never been a massive fan of sabbath or did. But, if Ozzy is so bad, why did he have so many hits in his solo career? If he cant sing, why the hell is mama im coming home so fucking good? I think dio might be confused about the difference between intelligence and drug use, because i know Ozzy was into drugs and alcohol throughout all of the 70s, 80s and 90s
What was cool about Dio is he never sold out or became a Hollywood rock star overhyped by the media. He handled his fame with grace and humility. RIP King.
Yeah you are right, 150 million thanks to everyone who has ever worked with him to create that for him bc the Clown never wrote a single lyric to a song that has even been a hit not in Sabbath nor solo. He is just a lucky guy who happened to be the first singer in the first Metal band ever! As a singer and musician he does not hold a candle next to Dio and the metal world knows it! Selling millions of album doesn't mean 💩. Ozzy sucks and has been the clown of Heavy Metal for decades! He does not hold q candle next to Rob, Bruce and Dio.
I do not My Earth 🌍 to END GOD! Jughead Jones I am a Catholic Ethiopian African American and Native American Heavy Metal 🎸 Catholic GOD! I am Gebru Mamoosh Girmay Pope Francis and Father Hailegabriel and Pasadena! I am #13! GOD!
Sabbath was great with all the vocalists they’ve had. The common denominator is Tony Iommi. He had written on about every Sabbath song. His riffs , his sound, is one of a kind.. Ozzy is maybe not technically the best singer if musically educated people ranked all ten of Sabbaths vocalists. But , for Black Sabbath, Ozzy was the best. Followed by Dio, and Ian Gillian
Dio taking over the vocals changed the sound of the band. they went from being a heavy blues sound to a 1980's rock sound. they had some great songs with Dio. that said, he did a crap job singing ozzy's songs and dont think he respected the history of the band. Ozzy isnt a songwriter, but he created melodies and structure of the songs. One thing about Dio, how many bands has he been kicked out of? many musicians didnt like working with him either.
For your information he Left Rainbow bc Ritchie wanted to write pop and Dio refused to write that way. Sabbath fired Ozzy but not Dio. Regarding the muscians in the Dio band the only one that had a problem with Dio was Vivian! Vinny, Jimmy and Craig left Dio and then went back to play with him in other albums! Rudy Sarzo, Dough Aldridge, Jeff Pilson, Tracy have NEVER been heard saying anything negative about Dio! About the rest of the things you wrote its all 💩 and so I'm not even going to comment about it.🤪
Let me preface this by saying i love OZZY and i love DIO! Both their contributions to Sabbath and their careers are phenomenal! With that being said i don't think DIO is wrong in what he said! He is reasonable rational and an intelligence beyond compare! Just listen to his lyrics and his strength to not give in to what ANYONE thinks! R.I.P. RJD!👍🙏🏼❤
I loved the way Dio roasted Ozzie. Major Burn 🔥.
Yeah ozzy made out juuuust fine!!
I met him and smoked tie stick with him ,last in line album tour.it was sweet.dio was one of a kind.ozzy is just shit talking idiot
I love the Dio Years CD if you don't mind 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Ozzy and RJD were completely 2 different vocalist, but somehow Tony Iommi managed to make it work with his original riffs ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Lets be honest. Ozzy is unique but has limitations Whereas Dio is a vocal genius
Ozzy is just a bad person and a horrible singer, he doesn't deserve all the credits.
I don’t like the music Dio made, but I really respect him as a person
Ozzy never grew up and the shenanigans he and his wife got up to are now legendary in the the worst way, can we say 'white trash'? Dio was a classy articulate guy as well as being a brilliant singer and songwriter. RIP Ronnie!
I love DIO but I think his response here to Ozzy was a bit OTT as Ozzy did say he thought the DIO Black Sabbath music was good but to him was not Sabbath.
Ozzy.... who ? Harriet around ? Ronnie was AN ARTIST ! Humility, humble, and a voice that COMMANDS ! R.I.P. RJD !
Ronnie J Dio!,…what an interesting Man!
I never liked Black Sabbath with Ozzy. I love Black Sabbath with Ronnie. I wish they released more records. My favorite album is Dehumanizer.
Dio > Ozzy In ever way. Though i love listening to ozzy, he was a total A-hole for the way he treated Dio and Sabbath and he was kicked out
Black Sabbath had ZERO to do with Ozzie's solo success and Ozzie was the reason that Sabbath was selling so much back catalog at the time of this interview not the other way around like Dio claims.
Geezer Butler wrote 99 percent of the lyrics and Tony Iommi wrote the music in Black Sabbath. 😂
Dio would never say that to Ozzy's face. Another thing, Dio is the better singer, but Ozzy is the voice of Black Sabbath
I saw BS in 1980...no Bill Ward :( ...but it was still good, also saw them in 78 before Ozzy split...and oh course VH was there. Man am i glad i grew up in the 70s ✌️
Dio.. who are you to talk.. 😂😂 you were great but who’s still alive??
Tarzana California, and ozzy couldnt hold Dio's mic stand! Hey ozzy, who sold more albums, your black sabbath or Dio's?
Ozzy is overrated and cannot be compared to Dio. Dio is, was, and always will be the master
Straight forward and sharp. I loved this interview. I could listen to his stories, opinions. etc for hours. R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio.
Damn, didn’t realize how close Ronnie and Ozzy were 😅
Ozzboring is the worst singer in rock, an animal-torturer, a wife-beater, and semi-literate (which is why Geezer had to write the lyrics). Dio was the opposite in every way!

Dio talks respectfull about ozzy, but he's right about: i do not sound like him. Ronny sings 100 % better than ozzy.
Ozzy did kick ass on the first two albums he ever did with Randy rhoads add bark at the moon 🌚🌚🌚.
Dio was wonderful to his fans but within his band or in the biz you got on his bad side, the Italian in him came out. :-)
Thank you RJD for speaking the truth!! For far too long people have been afraid to speak up concerning Ozzy. The truth is the truth and like it or not Ozzy (and his classless bride), are everything Ronnie says here.
I totally agree with Ronnie Ozzy is a idiot And his wife is a snake
A truth teller...i like that.

Such an eloquent, majestic, well spoken dude. One of a kind.

Is your profile pic a punk floyd thing or is it Hammerskin stuff
Oh wait you listen to pink floyd aka your shit
@@carpenoctem775 pink floyd sucks
@@Yourmothershouse34So do Hammerskin dick riders.
Only problem was Dio never made any money after he left Sabbath the first time. The solo band made pennies on the dollar. What a shame.
Clashing egos, nothing else.
No hell no God bless Ronnie James Dio Ozzy Osbourne I'm done I walked away when you killed Randy Rhodes
Yea well his lifetime album sales were 5 million to ozzys 150 million so maybe soreness
Yeah you are right, 150 million thanks to everyone who has ever worked with him to create that for him bc the Clown never wrote a single lyric to a song that has even been a hit not in Sabbath nor solo. @@Lynns1958 Very well stated 👏🏽
Bob Daisley deserves a lot of credit for Ozzy's early success.
@Podcastforthewin Relax sir, it isn't that serious here now is it ? Neither Lemmy or Dio are alive and Ozzy doesn't pay our bills. ✌🏽

Everyone knows Ozzy is the voice of black Sabbath! When I hear mob rules, to me it sounds like an album released between holy diver and last in line,.
VERBAL. ASSASSIN.
They will both burn in hell for eternity so does it really matter which one is right?
Saw Black Sabbath with Dio in 2005 he sounded amazing. even at his age his voice was the same
