The 4 Colour Theorem Explained
Просмотров 19 тыс.3 года назад
For my video submission, the “4 Colour Theorem Explained”, I highlight some of the underlying principles of Graph Theory and the century old 4 colour problem. I was introduced to this topic when I watched a video by NumberPhile on non-planar graphs. In particular, I found it very interesting to learn how mathematicians found elegant ways of visualising and classifying 2 dimensional graphs. I be...

Differential Calculus- Explained in Just 4 Minutes
Просмотров 36 тыс.4 года назад
Calculus is a beautiful, but often under appreciated and unloved branch of mathematics. In this video, I hope to capture the fundamental concept of mathematics in Just 4 Minutes. I'll delve into derivatives and the concept of the limit and how taking infinitesimals simplifies seemingly complicated Math. This video has received an honourable mention for the Strogatz Math Prize, by the national m...

Going Interstellar: The FASTEST way to exit our Solar System
Просмотров 4205 лет назад
Humans are visionaries, and we find ourselves with the technology to exit earth and explore the cosmos! Have you ever wondered about our options to leave the solar system (travelling interstellar). In this video, I discuss potential methods of leaving our solar system and the time they will take to reach proxima centauri, our closest star. 2020 is characterised by an exiting space race between ...
Why All Stars CAN'T form Black Holes
Просмотров 5905 лет назад
Have you ever wondered if each and every Star you see can form a black hole? In this video, I answer this question by explaining the life cycle of stars and how, some discovered forces and principles (The Pauli Exclusion Principle), have explained why most don't. I go over nuclear fusion, and explain how that keeps a star inflated. Do note that some stars still do form black holes, but they are...
How Calculus Helped Fight HIV/AIDS - Applications of Calculus in Biology
Просмотров 26 тыс.5 лет назад
In this video, I describe and explain how researchers in the 1990's made use of calculus to revolutionise how HIV was treated, improving countless lives around the world. I also explain how the differential equation which models HIV population growth is derived. This video provides a great example of real world applications of Calculus. This video received widespread coverage due to the fact th...

The Importance of Asking Good Questions
Просмотров 2 тыс.6 лет назад
Simply changing a question from What to Why can generally make a huge difference in understanding something. This video details the importance of asking the right questions within ones current limit. *DISCLAIMER* Note that this approach does NOT work for ALL situations, and this video does NOT negate the value of asking WHAT. This video was made to purely draw that critical example. Sources- In...
Why the Speed Of Light Ruins Interstellar Flight- Special Relativity
Просмотров 7106 лет назад
Light is central to how we experience almost everything. However, as technology and science progressed, we began to dream of futures where we explore the galaxy. Unfortunately, the Speed of Light, the same very gift that opened our eyes to reality also prevents us from embarking on full-scale interstellar missions. Find out how! this made me feel calculus is easy
God bless you 😭😭😭
I think my brain might be broken😢 idk what’s going on here😢😢😢
Took me a while to learn calculus - trust me, just stick with it!
Isaac Newton was a genius
Great stuff. Thank you for this concise presentation; you've a real knack for making simple what is complex.
Thanks so much!
This explanation was fantastic but was ruined by the background music which was completely unnecessary and distracted from the explanation.
Noted, thanks for the feedback!
And no captions either?
Your accent sucks
Hi! A secant is a line that intersects a curve at a minimum of two distinct points, whereas a tangent line is defined as the unique line that touches a curve at only one point so a secant line will never look like a tangent line therefore the differentiation never gives us actual slope of a curve.
What I did not understand here is that if dx becomes zero how can it be the denominator??
Got an exam tomorrow and this was so nice, thank you!
Great video I want to convert this vdo into bangla for our students Can i do this?
Of course, just remember to credit the channel!
A good explain.
This confused me soo much lol. Admittedly I have knowledge of calculus
Could please reduce the volume of the music in the background?
Comments seem to say this is a good video, music is too intense and make it impossible to focus :D
Excellent.
Great video, thx.
Excellent, very helpful 😊
Thank you! It was very helpful!

This is beautiful
Glad you liked it!

very useful video 👍

My pleasure 😊
Still helpful 4 years later
Thanks!

Here’s something interesting about the 4-colour theorem, I think it is correct when in maths, but can be disproved with map geography. This is because of something called *exclaves*. Exclaves are a part of a country which is disconnected from the mainland (while still being on the same piece of land), and border multiple countries. This makes it very easy to disprove the 4-colour-theorem with exclaves, and I always feel so smart after making them. All it takes is three steps, but I’m not going to list them now because nobody asked (until someone replies and asks).
i'm asking so can you please explain?
@@prathithchivukula Alright. First step. Draw 4 countries bordering each other, which you may have to use exclaves for. (All countries have to be bordering the other three on the map). Step 2. Make it so that all countries have a coast (pretend the outer bit of our little blob is sea). Step 3. Draw the fifth country like a ring all around the other four, or at least to border all four. You should now have to use 5 colours to make no colours touch. Note: It’s best to label the country and their exclaves to prevent confusion for yourself and others. You don’t have to do much, just letters or numbers would be fine.
Loved it , share links to other videos you created for exo planets
TQ for this vdo I searched internet for more than one week fr my math modelling now I got idea ❤
Most welcome 😊
Thank you so much
I am a student who study medicine. How can get involve in these mathematical stuff?
I think a good start is Khan Academy for a solid math background!
Amazing
Good video. I accept that the planets have to be in the same alignment as earth to see the transit, but I am looking for a way to visualize how a planet could orbit a star and we wouldn't see a transit. I guess I am not great at 3-D modeling in my brain. Would love a video
Very good video, thanks!
Well explained!!
THANK YOU!
Bhai❤
Thank you bro!
That's this was super helpful for my purposes!
what if a country has 4 countries bordering it?
still works
Opposite/mirrored sides don’t need to be the same colour. This is a dumb and foolish mistake people make when attempting to disprove the 4-colour theorem.
I must say this is really easy to understand after a watch this video , superb job 😊
great video and really looking for nice and concise and clear video. 'spelling of length'
Haha thanks
Thank youuuu i used this to cram study for my exam
Thanks
Great video, really made it easy to understand such a complex topic.
Or is there is simple visual proof with only a handful of configurations...? ruclips.net/video/vmyYzz897AE/видео.html
This video is very informative, I needed this for my IGCSE exams! Thanks
This was a good video
