I have the same one. It lights up and plays the music disc but the part with the dancers doesn't move at all. :( It is still nice.

How is it that mutiple tones are being heard when either 1 or none of the bells r being struck?
The carillon's main sound is likely done below the disc, the bells only produce the accesory sounds.
Thank you for your comment. Basically, the sound of a bell is made when the bell is struck, but the sound of the bell and the sound of the music box may overlap and make it sound like that.
