This block along with 1001 and 1002 is due for demolition soon, likely next year. The blocks were slated for redevelopment in 2014, and affected tenants were offered to relocate to a new industrial complex at Ang Mo Kio Industrial park 3 (called JTC Space @ Ang Mo Kio). Back when the redevelopment plans were announced, the new industrial complex was slated for completion in mid 2018, but due to delays it will only be completed later this year. The 3 Fujitec lifts here are the last ones of their kind, as they are the only lifts with original relay controllers and motors for the model used in 70s/80s HDB industrial estate. A maintenance worker who was on site also agreed to help me take pictures of the motor rooms of Blk 1001, 1002 and 1057. Based on the data plaques there, Blk 1001 and 1002 was completed in the around late 1978 or early 1979, whereas blk 1057 is from 1981. This also corroborates what I could find from tenders/advertisements in NewspaperSG.

Actually these are not the first diamond Fujitecs. This cluster was completed in January 1998 while 115 Ho Ching Road was completed earlier in August 1997.

Today, as of now (February/March 2024), 097/098 has just been retired.
