There is a line at which manifolding is objectively better. That line has been behind me, and I do not look back.

KSP Challenge 26 Hard Mode (and Challenge 7 hard mode?) Submission
Actually, for 7-Way Balancers rather than basing them off of 8-Ways and looping back one belt, I like to start with a 9-Way and loop 2 belts to the back, one in each side. It's just more symmetrical that way, and also technically 9-Way Balancers are simpler than 8-Way Balancers
I have yet to use a single manifold (outside of fluids, and gathering outputs from factories) I am on the last space elevator stage and I've done half the remaining milestones Honestly outside of stupid balancing like every multiple of 5 or every prime numbers, load balancing isn't that bad Tho in those specific situations, don't be a mad person like me, use a manifold
Industrial Storage Container having 2 inputs makes it able to aggregate and 50:50 split double the throughput of a single belt. 🤔
I like load balancing for most things because I tap a lot of intermediate products for storage. I don't have a facility that produces rotors for storage and use, I have a facility that produces motors - and as part of that you make rotors, which get smart split into ISCs. So the manifold lead time gets reset every time you take out something half way up the chain, because it fills up the ISCs first and then the subsequent manifolds use up their front-filled stock. Balancers eliminate that issue. I'm not mad enough to balance anything like a 13 way split, though.
Double it and give it to the next person
Manifold for life.
Inferior efficiency in many ways
Good shit. Load balancing heals the soul
I personally like load balancing, not for any practical reasons, I just find the challenge entertaining
You may be the type of person that would enjoy trying to fit as much factory into a single blueprint as possible. I've currently got a factory for the final project assembly part crammed into just 9 blueprints in total. You put in raw resources and it spits out 1 part per minute. I'm currently trying to shrink it down to 8 blueprints. Your factory begins to look a lot like a printed circuit board.
2-way: 😊 3-way: 😊 4-way: 😐 5-way: 💀
These are just one to many load balancers which are quite simple tho. Try many to many without chokepoints and I will be impressed.
I made a gigantic load balanced all-purpose steel factory as soon as I unlocked steel lmfao
One thing missing is height, this isn't factorio. I have so much more room now that everything goes up...
mfs be like "just manifold" My brother in christ i dont wanna
I gotta appreciate the dedication, but why
and how do you load balance a row of 54 constructors then without using up an entire biome of space

i HATE load balancing.
All of these look like single-input, multiple-output "balancers", which are just fancy splitters. There is no practical advantage over a manifold if you only have one input as long as you're supplying enough resources for the machines on the output. A more useful balancer has multiple inputs and outputs so you draw evenly from several sources (like a train station with four freight platforms) while feeding multiple assembly lines with different input amounts required.
Masterpiece 🤩
next video do vertical load balancing
I plan to fit all these belt systems to within a single blueprint, and since I have only the mk1 blueprint designer unlocked in this playthrough, you kind of have to get verticality involved with more and more splits.
Or just do a manifold.
you cant manifold into 2 belts...
@@theendofthestart8179 You don't need to load balance two belts?
real
@@Bastealif you’re splitting it you do
@@superkaiwese3123 If your splitting then its no longer only two belts, right? I dont think I understand.
Honestly did not expect this, of all my half-assed for-shits-and-giggles videos, to break 500 views, but the algorithm works in ways too mysterious for us mere mortals to ponder. Please do not expect any semblence of an upload schedule, I do not see myself as a RUclipsr, but if I have the time and there's a lot of people wanting even more ridiculously complicated load balancing systems, maybe I will make a follow-up video. No promises.
yeah i want a 17 way load balancing, tyvm
Beautiful
Hey I need an 11 way load balancer for my underclocked coal powerplant. Can you make a video with more sizes?
11=12-1, so if you must build a 11-way load balancer instead of just using manifolds and making it take far less space and more scalable, you could just build a 12-way split with two 2-way splits and one 3-way split, in whichever order you prefer, and then feed one of the final 12 belts back into the input belt. The feedback belt thing is what makes things like 5-way, 7-way and 10-way splits possible. Keep in mind that the input + feedback belt will, given enough time, run at 12/11 of the original input, so you might want to upgrade that particular conveyor belt to stop congestion.
why would you ever build such a thing
