One of the steers I visit used to be very nervous and not really like to be touched. But in the space of a couple of weeks he turned into a cuddle monster. Runs over for carrots and scratches and doesn’t want me leave when is time to go.

They seem to enjoy both the hay and the Molasses tub.

So informative on how much hay you need per cow. So glad you had farmer to be helping you lift that salt bucket. It lasts approx how many months for the 14 cows?

I remember on my grandpa’s farm when i was little, being fascinated by the smooth polished wood on fenceposts and troughs from the cattle rubbing on them.

good idea, but pleas use a real microphone, a smartphone doesnt do the trick, i can hear you breathe and the cars in the background.... also it sounds like they are eating in a hall and very clicky and noisy wich isnt realistic

I took a load of carrot out this evening. Couldnt see the red herd and only 1 of the other herd came over so he got most of the carrot I got him relaxed enough to let me scratch him all over though. Got about 12 total who all take carrot from the hand and 1 other who will only take it off the ground. A few others who will eat bread from hand. Last year I was trying to feed 1 steer who kept looking at the carrot and then looked at the ground in front of him and then almost gestured with his head. I swear he was telling me to drop it on the ground for him so I did and he ate it. Tried offering by hand again and he did the same head gesture so he just ended up dropping them for him.

Love how they try to hold the carrot in their mouth.

Thanks for explainer about the bull breed. I saw was deep black, but he didn't quite look like an Angus. Also interesting about how you can scratch him that way.

Do like the tripod view. I do love it when cows wag their whole back end when scratching their back. I did wonder why quite often they would get tears in their eyes when patting them.
