Today I upgraded my A1278 Macbook Pro 2012 13 inch by replacing the optical drive (CD Player) which I don't use with a caddy that can hold a sata3 hard drive. I put the original macintosh HD into the caddy.

Bad video
Thanks for the video, I have to do stick and boom swing cylinders on my 303.
Very late to the party but thanks for this. Machine started acting up on a driveway demo job and this was the problem.
great video, very helpful! what is that green tool called for pulling out the wires?
It’s called a spudger
What size wrench to loosen tensioner?
I couldn’t have fixed my cat 303cr stick cylinder without you!

As I was trying to pull the connector out of the socket at the 1:00 mark it pulled the wires - what is this for? do I still need it now that I am not using the optical drive?

Well done well done
Nice job. After several track removals/installs I have found that the below procedure works the best for me: Cat 247/247B/257B REMOVE Tracks 1. Get machine on secure jack stands, tracks to be 4-6 inch off the ground 2. Loosen track tensioner all the way 3. Remove the FRONT OUTSIDE IDLER WHEEL 4. Remove the REAR OUTSIDE IDLER WHEEL 5. Pull track off easily INSTALLING TRACKS 1. Get track about ⅓ to ½ way over the top drive wheel 2. Drop in the FRONT IDLER WHEEL and bolt in place (there should be enough sack) 3. Get the track so it is 80-90% on the drive wheel 4. Get some timber and wedge under the front or rear of the track 5. Slowly drive the timbers under the track (using the drive of the machine). MAKE SURE THE TIMBERS ARE NOT UNDER THE REAR IDLER POSITION. 6. Drop in the REAR IDLER WHEEL 7. Track should be on machine, test by moving track slowly using power of the machine. 8. Lower machine off jack stands 9. Tension tracks 10. Take for test drive, be gentle. 11. Adjust tracks if required. 12. Enjoy! Key is removing BOTH the outside idlers. Makes the job way easier.
Thanks Josh, that’s what we did for the second side - it was much easier.
Thanks for the comment. I didn't find it necessary to remove both of the idlers but maybe my situation was different. In order to get the track back over the front idler, I had to place a stick on the inside of the track, roll the track forward with the machine, and the track eventually slipped over the idler.
I wish you had shown it going on, we’ve been working 1 whole day just for 1 side. They are so tight.
ya im just trying out yt videos for fun appreciate the comment
Hey batman, Have a look at my comment.
Hey how did you get it figured out i got the tightening arm locked any ideal fix
@@zacharyknollman5731 took off the back 2 and front 2 wheels and the job was a breeze.
