    What not to LOVE about Nina! What a force she becomes! Nina found LOVE in every challenge she encountered, Nina is helping others in every way she could, may one day the world be free of cruelties and unjust, and everyone loves one another! Amen!

    Blunt force trauma, a car accident, basically any “event” that leads to bodily injury definitely causes stress to the body regardless of how the individual chooses to process the stressor psychologically. This is why it’s common for post-op patients and post partum mothers to experience telogen effluvium (i.e., stress related hair loss) regardless of how mindful, happy or positively they feel. Hell, the body even interprets exercise as stress. I can tell my body is handling a stressor right now because my scalp is irritated from a new shampoo I tried today. So no, events absolutely do cause stress on the body in ways that are outside of our control and handled in ways that we’ll probably never know are happening internally. The human body is complex and autonomous like that. HOWEVER, I agree that the impact or outcome of some, arguably many, other types of stressful events can be mitigated by a shift in perspective.

    I feel bad for her patients. I understand her thinking in certain practices for sure. Try to think positive and life will be easier. But saying that you can just choose how to act in any situation is insane. And there are many things that are bad regardless of how you look at them lol. This is just broad black and white ideology.

    The lesson she's giving, is 100% fact. If you agree, you're applying the info, if you disagree, you're also proving her point. If you don't get it you don't get it, but when you do you're going to change your life. 🙏🏽

    Hell no. Certain events can certainly cause stress and/or anxiety in anyone. Things like slavery or genocide can certainly bring up those issues in many people no matter how you try to think about or perceive it.

    • @danielperoverde1998
      @danielperoverde1998 4 дня назад

      @@3lClack Naa she is definitely wrong. There are events that on a biological level will cause you stress. There is no level of awareness that can prevent it. A fear response, a pain response inflicted over a prolonged period will break everyone eventually there is a whole industry of torture that persisted for thousands of years built on that principle. According to her you could just stonewall torture. That's not how it works. Outlooks like hers are the reason people who suffer from Shellshock were not taken serious for the longest time. "Oh just get over it already" "It is all in how you see the world" That is how weak people who never faced true hardship argue to make themselves feel special. You really have to be careful with blanket statements like the ones she is spouting out there. As a harvard psychologist she should absolutely be aware of that.

    This is typical disfunctional spiritual thinking that leads one to believe if you are stressed, then there is something wrong with you. Stress is a part of life. Some of it can be changed to positive stress with magical thinking, but some times life just is plain stressful and sucks, like when my mother took care of my father in a medical bed for four years. As an eighty year old, she bathed him, changed his sheets and catheter. She died of cancer one year after him, I believe, to go be with him. That’s my magical thinking, but it was my most stressful time that no magical thinking on my part could have changed.

    • @carolhunt2023
      @carolhunt2023 4 дня назад

      They did. Thank you so kindly for your comment. ❤ Omg this she is so wrong. Sometimes yes, changing thinking helps in certain situations. I practice mindfulness and Buddhism. Buddhism teaches, “Suffer what there is to suffer. Enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue to mediate upon the Mystic law (God).” Obviously this Harvard psychologist has not experienced life as the rest of us have. There are so many examples, war, starvation, genocide, FGM, human trafficking, abused children, mass gun shootings, poverty, illness, death of a loved one, on and on and on. Just change your thinking and it is no longer stress? Ha. Man this ego-perfectionism got to me. I must inwardly explore why.

    I sit up straight in the bed and pray our father in latin (pater noster) followed by ”Jesus, I trust in You”. That usually helgs me to go back to sleep instantly, but when I still struggle (because of stressful circumstances), there are some back-up plans: 1) David Suchet bible readings! Psalms are very good, but variation is not bad. Any book in the bible is helpful😉 2) live rosary prayers on RUclips, especially in latin are healing and helpful In extreme situations, get out of bed; light a candle and pray/read the bible/read about the saints - ie do a ” Holy hour” Find a video on youtube with live adoration of the Holy Sacrament, put the mobile beside Your bed and watch/adore until You fall asleep. Even if I get too few hours sleep on these nights, I don’t wake up as a wreck in the morning

      I think you may have missed that. She did tell the police about her father and her ex. She and her son were helped by social services to get away from her ex. Her father served time for abducting her sister but they didn’t charge him with what he did to her. Probably because it was so long ago they couldn’t do anything about it. Also, speaking from personal experience, the police generally don’t help victims of dv, they either don’t want to be involved or don’t believe them.
