Ich war bei der "Erstvorführung" dieses Films dabei; das Original musste vorher aufwendig kopiert werden, da das Material fragil und hochfeuergefährlich war und nicht offentlich gezeigt werden konnte. Die Vorführung fand ca. 1984? statt in einer Herchener Kneipe. Dort waren u.a. alte Frauen aus Herchen anwesend, die begeistert immer wieder "Film anhalten!" riefen, weil sie glaubten Ahnen oder Bekannte zu erkennen. Besonders war dies bei der "Festprozession" über die Siegbrücke der Fall. Es wurde noch erklärt, dass die Hindenburg-Plakette aus Kupfer verschollen ist. Trivia: ich selbst habe am Herchener Gymnasium 1982 Abi gemacht und war dort 2 Jahre im Internat. Die Waldwegstelle unterhalb des Denkmals war bei manchen Mitschülern -nicht bei mir- zum kiffen oder saufen beliebt. Außerdem nutzten wir als Modellfluggruppe (ferngesteuerte Segler) das Plateau des Denkmals (bis heute existent) als Abwurfstelle. Gelandet wurde unten auf den Wiesen in der Nähe der heutigen Tennisplätze. Im Film bei 2:30 : ojo, wenn das die Berufsgenossenschaft gesehen hätte ! 😮😂 Mir ist noch aufgefallen, dass 1924 bei der Einweihung scheinbar nicht die Fahne der Weimarer Republik (Schw/Rot/Gold) zu sehen ist sondern die Reichsfahne (Schw/W/Rot).

@@Factor42 .Well, at firsdt glance that might appear to be the case but, shut down day is Oct 15 of 2041..... Would likely be a tad foolish to wait until say, the 14th of Oct of 2041 to make some alterations...? My advice is worth nothing but if I was in your position, I would be starting today, with the intention of being ready by the end of this year...which would then give u around 17 years to really prime yourself.
