I 1st encountered Lake Street Dive & Lucius back in 2013. Each separately in tiny clubs. Caught the 3 shows they did together in Memphis, Birmingham & New Orleans. Seen them both individually more than a dozen times since. To all the old farts that lament that today's music is shit, you just aren't paying attention..

I avoided listening to this song since my first few listens because of the direct emotional impact it had on me, but coming back to it is a beautiful reminder of how, even when a great deal of effort is involved in trying to reconcile things with someone I love, life isn't always the way we would like it to be. For me that's the emotion I feel in the song. Thank you once again for your unique voice and talent. Your versatile way of letting these songs come out of you in an authentic and vulnerable way is a beautiful gift to our world. It certainly has been for me.
