Man, idk for me this albun is too much noisy, you know like wheres the lead duets, harmonys, and stuff... for me Venom was their last GREAT album, i mean its HEAVY, but still kinda melodic and catchy

Not only is their not one bad song on this album or the next album, they are literally all bangers.

One of the all time best debut albums...

The Poison is in top 20 albums all time ever created imo. Suc a masterpiece. And the will honor it by the joint 20th anniversary world tour with trivium. What a comeback and reward for us metal kids of early 2000s. Thanks for the great review.

This album was basically around Matt's divorce Probably wrote Don't Need You when he was angry, then got depressed

i love P.O.W, but this album was kind of a joke compared to Venom and their older stuff. They dont really play any song from Temper live anymore, quite reasonable.

The thing about gravity. He was obviously hurting at that time, and he need to get that out of his system. He did, the sadness was vented out. The pain is still there, and now he feels angry about the whole situation. He's now in the anger phase of moving on from the pain. This is album perfectly shows that, and mirrors the cycle of grieve. Next in the cycle is acceptance. Makes me even more excited for the next album!

I think the album is better when you understand Matt was in a hard place mentally and emotionally from his divorce and moose’s departure around that time. He said the “heaviness” wasn’t there for him. Which makes a lot of sense.

Gravity is one of the Best album i ever heard

I think this album is SECOND best album in their entire discography. Amazing songs, amazing choruses, solos, riffs and pace. Death By A Thousand Cuts is became the absolute favorite song of mine from this band's entire discography. Phenomenal work. Thanks a lot for your detailed reaction I really like it. Well done 💜

Hand of Blood was the 1st BFMV track I heard probably sometime around the mid 2000's. I would personally throw the self-titled album in the B-tier with Venom & then put SAF in the A-tier just slightly above Fever for me. 👍🤘 The EP/The Poison was their best mix of the cleans/heavier sections though IMO. The new album has some cool tracks but I'd prefer if they focused more on the melodic side of things rather than going for all out heaviness for the sake of it. Plus Matt's screams on the new album just don't sound that great to me... Whether it's the performance or the production/processing I don't know, but it just lacks the punch & intensity of previous albums.
