Corral Fire: San Joaquin County June 2024
I watched this when it happened, it happened so quickly. Def got that trailer and sadly the lookout too.
Thanks for sharing the clip. Bald mtn and Domelands has a special spot in my heart.
There were multiple days that this structure could have been prepped in the possibility that the fire went exactly where wind and terrain wanted it to go... Its a real shame that there was a complete failure to take any precautions (that I am aware of) to protect such a significant and unique landmark. I would not be saying this if the fire had gone straight to it day one, but there were two to three days where Keller peak was a likely direction of future fire progression that could have been used to wrap it up, foam it up, whatever necessary to at least try. Hopefully there is enough pressure from the conservancy and passionate people to get this thing rebuilt for future generations, we have already lost enough fire lookouts here and elsewhere in other fires.
I'm sure they were using all of their fire fighting efforts to save people's homes. It is sad that the lookout was lost though.
Saw red pillars in georgia but no greens though
Hwy 38 is open! Check with Cal-Trans Road Conditions. We drove it this morning
I use the cams to watch the aurora borealis travel down from up north to the SF Bay area. Then run outside to try to see ;)
the retardant worked as advertised
RIP Keller Peak Lookout......
So is it gone or is all of the equipment still in tact
Thank you!
They just dropped the ball again on this one, They were there on the ground but didn't get the air going till it was dark duh
You ever stop to think and consider there aren't enough resources/man power to accomodate for peoples stupidity? What the hell have you done about it, Watch it burn? I thought so. Get a clue.
Do they show who started this fire?????

Aug 24???
2024, we've updated the title.
O-22 seconds, The fire appears to be moving in the EXACT opposite direction of the wind. How is that even possible ?
Thank you!
It's a blessing there's no audio, otherwise we'd have to endure the final screams of the end of this poor, helpless camera's life...
At 1:55 to 2:00 there is a couple of flashes of red on the right hand side. It took me a few seconds to realise that it was fire retardant being dropped from planes!
I didn’t see any water dropping aircraft

I'm bummed.
Wow. Will be a while until the damage survey.
Thank you!
There's an abandoned white van on the Doe Mill rd. cam...🤔👀
Yeah I see it on the cam too. Gonna be a burned out shell by tomorrow probably.
At what time on the video?
@@SpinWave Oh dang, no clue now. It only goes back a rolling 12 hours at max. If you look at that cam tower area on satellite view though, there looks to be much more abandoned stuff than just a van. 😄😐👀
Thank you!
holy shit...
Wow
Thank you!
Horrific
Remarkable view of these amazing birds! Thanks for sharing.
