Actually when I followed along and test like you did i did not actually disconnect the board. But now that I have I am no longer getting OL ohm readings like you, but all my other readings are the same as they were for me before. The plug clearly had been worked over with Flux and solder by someone in the past. I removed it and tested it and cleaned the board and re-soldered . I guess I will just replace it but when I test it like I have seen on youtube ,the thing works. I can get one on Ebay for about $10 so i guess I will just try that first. That seems like alot of money for such a small nothing of a component.

I wish you lived near me so I could just pay you to fix mine. My adapter was dead so I replaced and mine would still not turn on. I get the same OL readings when I test plug as you did. A commenter on board said I should have a 9V reading on C56 with device turned off and I do,( really 14v). But when I do the voltage regulator test like you did, mine is dead. I saw on one of you other videos that you replaced all the electrolytic capacitors on a Korg. Maybe i will try that. I dont have any of your skills, but I dont know what else to do with the thing lol.

I would like to build a DIY polyphonic synth, but very very simple as a start, like just one VCO square + PWM, and one single LFO (then ADSR, HP LP filters and VCA). Im now thinking the size of the keyboard. I would like around 3 octaves but Im reading a lot about diode matrix and resistance ladder, for now. You're incredibly inspiring !

Our friends father has unfortunately passed and he was an accordion player who lived in Liverpool, he regularly hosted Ceili dances He had what appears to be pretty special accompaniment type equipment (drum machines etc) in particular- 1. ELKA OMB3 2. SOLTON TS4 3. WIGAMAT III 4. KETRON X4 We are in the process of finding new homes for these.

I had the same issue with the tone switch not working except that cleaning the metal contacts and the black contact didn't fix the issue. I'd love to do a video call with you to debug if you'd be down to help me 🤓

Interesting how this oscilloscope centered all of the motions relative to the average of the signal voltage than a fixed x/y voltage value (I think, correct me if I'm wrong). The music was designed with a techtronic in mind, so all the distortions were interesting to see

I have one of these that justs powers up. I let my brother use it many years ago and it came back not working! The battery for memory never leaked and the board looks fine there. So in the meantime I just play my Korg Microkorg!! Alot smaller, and better sounds, etc. lol If I ever get time to work on the Polysix, I might. Plus the polysix weighs 800 pounds, and the Microkorg just under 5 pounds lol. Plus this Synth had so many flaws in it from the get go as you can see in the video what has to be fixed. Probably only a handful of these stayed working to this day.

Hi from Hellas. I like your channel and subscribe to it. Since i 've start using arduino, I was wondering if it's possible to interface a sound blaster like AWE32 or similar to build a midi synth. Of course we can use both arduino or other microcontrolers as well to combine them. I think that this approach can give even more interesting sounds. Thanking in advance.

I have the same one everything functions fine except for two keys… before I open it up I wondered if you could offer any advice. Repair is not necessarily part of my skill set. I’m apprehensive. Great video. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
