I Took Coursera Online Courses. Is It Worth It?

It was an interesting challenge. I also want to mention that due to the short time, I couldn't complete the courses completely but I would say learning from Coursera was worth it as I did learn valuable knowledge. I also want to emphasize that you can also learn these materials in the internet for free but it just takes more effort and time. MY KEY LINKS 📸 Instagram - bennkimmn?ig...

gotta keep moving , I myself am on this journey too for many years and it definitely will test your patience, resolve and passion but that's just for the journey, I never partook in such an event because lack of resources but after time passed and talking to other founders, I realised that these networking event are just for show for the most part, you will rarely actually find an investor or create good networks, these events prey upon start ups selling the idea of doing so and charge a lot for it. You have access to the whole world at your fingertips you don't need these events to make your start up a success. All the best brother and looking forward to further updates!
RAHHHHH!!! WTF IS A KILOMETER🦅🦅🦅(all jokes)

good luck. I am working on my tech startup too in North Africa Im 17
Very impressive. Good luck!
Nicely done. Hit me up if you are looking for someone on board. .NET dev here :)
I like how you explained the difference between learning on your own and learning from places like coursera. The thing with getting learning done for you (someone lecturing) is that it can get passive if you just listen to videos because of the way media is consumed passively as well. but if a low level of attention is maintained it is good. I loved your video and instantly subscribed! good luck on your app
Thank you so much!
I’m currently waiting to hear from an it support role, if I don’t get the job I might just bang out the google course in a week

amazing content, Ben! I have learnt a lot and many of my previous doubts in my mind that i could not find answers are all well explained! I have 3 questions: what is the difference between an intern and a worker? if i were less skilled than the intern, would it be bad and not make any sense? Secondly, how much are start-up founders at the very early stage supposed to pay to interns who are probably really skilled? i have a perception that students from top colleges are able to earn a solid 30 usd per hour by tutoring with like SAT and therefore the minimal money that i have to pay them is 30 usd per hour which is a lot. even 15 usd per hour is a lot. Thirdly, how am i able to find these interns? Usually websites that write ‘ML/ AI students and experts from MIT/ Stanford… usually asks A LOT’. Hope that you may answer my doubts. Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'll explain the three questions from my understanding: 1. The difference between an intern and a worker is that intern usually has a set period of time of working for the company. It doesn't matter if the intern is part-time or full time, there will be a duration for them to work, and after that, they are not associated with the company. 2. How much you pay for interns depends on their crucialty in the team. How important are they in your team? After that, it depends on how much you can pay. Fortunately, in my state, there is a program where the government pays 1 to 1 match of what I pay. So, if I am planning to pay an intern $6,000 for the next 12 weeks, I only need to pay $3,000, and the government will pay the rest. It is tough to still pay $3,000 out of your own pocket, so it is a good idea to get grants from competitions or funds from friends and family. You can always try to find a technical cofounder and share equity with them instead of paying interns thousands. Or you can label the internship as unpaid, but the more skilled the intern is, the less likely they will take that offer unless the company is well-known. 3. You can find interns through your network by reaching out to them. Or if you're in school or college, visit hackathon or coding clubs and network there. You can talk to entrepreneurship advisors and ask them if they can research people who would be interested in joining your team. Or you can use LinkedIn, YC match, or just hire a freelancer from websites like TopTal, Upwork, or Fiverr. *If you truly need an intern and that intern needs to be from a top university, the process might be tougher than others. On the other hand, if you don't think you need interns or hire them from top universities, you can always hire freelancers, find cofounders, or find interns in other universities.
bro I'm korean as well, but like I don't think "food" is a real benefit. Like, what kind of country has a shitty food culture? Food is good everywhere, and usually people from any specific country would think the specific food from that country is good. However, koreans do not give a lot of fuck about authenticity, thus we make tons of fusion food without worrying about how authentic they are because no one really cares about whats going on outside of Korea anyway, what do they care how real the food is? And this is more like an asian country thing than a korea specific thing. Asians in general do not give a fuck about food authenticity to the culture where the food is from, allowing us to come up with the wildest combination, where in America, they mainly care about how authentic any ethnic food is.
One of the characteristics of koreans is that we have no god damn standards. 대충 is a word that describes koreans perfectly. It comes with the benefit of being flexible, at the cost of having no god damn standard. Anyway, good video.

when you said that academy for studying korean? You can learn korean Hangul fully there or is that more or less korean culture less the language.
There are academies teaching Hangul and Korean fully for people who want to learn Korean. I'm not sure of if there are academies teaching Korean culture only.
@@BenKimmn thank you ^^

Shin-ramen or buldak??
Shin-ramen. Buldak is too spicy for me
If this video blows up, I was here. By the way, would it offend a Korean if I told them I don’t like kimchi?
Koreans won't be offended if you say you don't like kimchi. Everyone has their own preference😀
@@BenKimmn Perhaps I have yet to try some good kimchi. But that’s good to know, thank you.

I wanna make an similar-ish idea with an app, a website, and a chrome extension. What type of planning did you do before any lines of code where written? I have written out my brainstormed idea of what I want but is there any planning you did that may not have come to mind for me?
I just thought of the idea, figured out essential features for the MVP, created a simple UI UX in my mind, and just coded right away. I personally think taking action is more important than planning details about the project because a lot of times, it doesn't go as plan
Second 0:19 just wtf, I didn't undestand a word... Other than that nice
