Hawker 800xp 360 Cockpit View
My good friend, Captain Adolpho, brought his GoPro MAX 360 cam along on a trip recently, and made this very cool little time lapse for me. It's not much, but it's a decent preview of what I've been up to the last year or so. Hopefully more videos coming soon!

Long overdue sequel to my last upload, I thought I'd show you around the cockpit of the Malibu as we cruise along on the short hop back to KSAT. Thanks for watching!
Tour the Piper Malibu Mirage
Просмотров 14 тыс.5 лет назад
Hello Folks! Today I wanted to give you a brief tour of the airplane I'm now flying for work, the Piper Malibu Mirage, PA-46-350P. This is my first attempt at a single-take, vlogging style shoot with the DJI Osmo Pocket. Forgive the wind noise in the first half, it gets better. Guess I'm trying to catch up with the times... MUCH more content about this airplane and the flying I did in Alaska co...
Flying the Cessna 207 Bethel to Kasigluk

New camera, new software, new channel name! This is a rough edit of my first real footage using the new DJI Osmo Pocket. Forgive the audio quality, full cockpit audio will be included in the fully edited version. This is mostly a test.

Come along on my second year flying into the Reklaw Fly-In at the Flying M Ranch. I have two other pilot friends along, as well as a couple more in a Beechcraft Debonair that fly on our wing for most of the trip. I'm flying a Grumman AA5B Tiger which is part of a flying club that I've started with this airplane. Check us out at: www.aeroclubofhouston.com
First Glider Lesson - Soaring Club of Houston

This is footage I took last summer on a visit to the local glider club. I've taken rides like this before, but this one was the first logged as actual instruction. Fantastic, if short, little flight, and you get a full picture of what basic glider flying is like. For a look at the really awesome advanced stuff, check out Bruno Vassel's channel!
Solft Field Takeoff and Landing, A Pilot's Perspective
Просмотров 5689 лет назад
As part of my commercial ground-school course, I was tasked with demonstrating a Soft/Short Field takeoff and landing for the class. Instead of creating a Power-Point slide show (or just downloading one), I decided to use my GoPro setup and actually perform the maneuver. The plane is a Cessna 172 RG Cutlass. The field is a local glider club with little to no activity during the early part of th...
Pilot's Perspective: Instrument Flight Training
Просмотров 44 тыс.11 лет назад
Here is one of my early lessons working toward my Instrument Rating. We had a thick cloud layer to work with around 2,000ft, and some really substantial winds. My instructor, Jason, and I goof around a lot but switch back to serious training mode easily. Enjoy, and subscribe to see more coming soon!
Spot Landing Competition: A Pilot's Perspective
Просмотров 8 тыс.11 лет назад
Complete footage taken from the Spot Landing Competition at Weiser Air Park, hosted by the Greater Houston Association of Flight Instructor's. Shot entirely on the GoPro Hero3 and Hero2. The visibility was extremely tight; overcast at 1,200ft and hazy, but they managed to pull it off. I rented a Piper Warrior to compete with. This was my first competition of any sort, and expected only to have ...

Join me and my instructor, Cody, flying the Cessna 172RG Cutlass from United Flight Systems. This is my first flight in the retractable gear 172, so you can see Cody showing me the ropes as we go along. This is part of my training toward earning a Commercial Pilot Certificate. If you're learning to fly, or have ever been interested in learning more about aviation: subscribe up, I'm getting bett...
Pilot's Perspective: Cessna 172R

I finally got a decent POV video of flying Cessna 172. Just a few practice landings. I've done almost all of my training in these aircraft here at United Flight Systems, and will be returning to for my Instrument and Commercial training soon. Forgive the annoying glare and the whistling noise.

Sunset Over Texas

This is a quick excerpt from a recent trip. My long-time buddy Patrick was able to capture these beautiful clips of the sun setting as we cruised over central Texas at 7,500ft in a Piper Warrior II. It was a fantastic trip, and I have much more footage to work on, but I hope you enjoy this little clip in the mean time. Music is Breaking Benjamin, Rain.
Shuttle Endeavor's last visit to Houston
Просмотров 34512 лет назад
Houston, the Shuttle has landed! And sadly, for the last time. Here we had the incredibly rare opportunity to share the ramp with one of aviation's greatest legends, and couldn't have been more excited. We captured some really great pictures and clips of Endeavor as she flew by and landed, then departed in Tiger-N960TE for Galveston. The really exciting part was the approach to landing back at ...
Spirit of Freedom - Tour

Join me on a quick walk-through of the Spirit of Freedom; a C-54 Skymaster that served in the Berlin Airlift in 1947-1948. This was taken at this years' Sun N' Fun airshow in Lakeland, FL. This is one of my early experiments with just holding the GoPro. Hope you enjoy!

What are the qualifications for a glider towing pilot
Nice video. Thank you.
I flew for Grant from 99 to 02.
I remember landing a 207 there in a foot of mud. The runway was 1/3 that long too . We'd land on the river in spring with a lot of water on top of the ice.
why are flying with flaps?
How does this 207 handle with 7 pax?
With 300hp out front, fully loaded she climbs about like a 172 that's fully loaded, 4-500fpm. But, if the engine quits, the 207 doesn't glide so much as falls controllably. This is why they call it The Sled: it goes downhill a lot easier than it goes uphill!
I see you have your elevator trim and AP breakers color collared. Good practice. Such a well thought out machine but why would arguably the most critical CBs to have instant access to be on the other side of the fairly wide cockpit. Imagine an aggressive trim runaway situation where the inertia reel seatbelt locks. Could you reach the trim breaker?
I live in Alaska
I just started flying a Cutlass. I'm going to get my instrument rating in it. After 1 flight I think I'm in love. :)
Amazing video and beautiful airplane 🤤🤤🤤 would love to see more of it
How do you get your foot in the door at Grant! This is my kind of flying! How amazing to be such a vital part of those villages! I want this!
Is this a cherokee????
=P
Sweet ride and congrats on the gig!
The 172 just looks so messed up when you cant see the landing gear
Beautiful aircraft, its my dream to own one some day
Miss that flying
oh man. currently saving up to purchase one... CANT.... WAIT....!!!
Amazing video man, simple and instructive, I’m considering purchasing one of these 350p version if god allows and I would love to see more of them
Beautiful airplane.
Were you hauling cargo or pax?
I was empty on that leg, headed to pick up pax.
how about a tour of the plane not your face
Over 225 of them have crashed and kissed the earth, scary!
Bullshit! Only 12 have crashed out of about 1000 malibus built.
How tall are you boss? Wondering if I'd fit in a tiger
I'm 6'2" and I think it would be alright up to 6'4". They're surprisingly comfortable for what seems like such a small airplane.
@@DefiantAero thanks for getting back to me! I'm 6'3 so fingers crossed. Its an adventure/frustrating finding planes to fit in for us bigger guys (ex: 152, pa12 and mooney no go for me but 172 and pa18 all good)
Try Using A Windscreen . . .
Congratulations on the new job. I am a student going for my private pilot certificate. The Malibu is definitely on my long term sights. Please load content on this aircraft. I love hearing of people's experiences with them.
Did you ever become an Army aviator?
Corpus Christi, huh!? My home airport. We should fly around sometime if you find yourself back this way
How come this Malibu Mirage is equipped with a 2 blade propeller ?
I'm guessing it was an option from the factory, as the POH only mentioned the three blade prop. Technically, the two blade prop should be just a little faster than the three blade.
This plane needs the m500 wing, if you could order it with that option it would hit it out of the park, much better leading edge for cutting through the prop wash, cruise would go way up.
No, it won't. And I can prove it from here sitting in my chair. The Jetprop uses this wing and goes almost exactly as fast as any meridian.
Thanks for Sharing Steve!
What? Can’t hear you because of the wind noise.
awesome tour steve good to see ya back on the tube buddy!!! cant wait to see more, and congrats on getting to the paid side of the business
Nice upgrade from grant air buddy. Newtok still the same just new faces
Will they let you put a GoPro in the cockpit for the ride? If so, LETS SEE IT!!!
Coming soon!
I've got hundreds of hours in 46M, I'm glad I've moved on.
Hey, How do you get your foot in the door at Grant? I applied twice. I meet requirements.
I learned to fly in a Cheetah, great airplane, very tight.
Earned my private and instrument ratings in a cheetah out of Houston Hobby airport in the 80S. Great aircraft! Earned my commercial multi in a cougar.
Nice vid and I’m envious! Working on my commercial now in hopes of getting to Alaska to do some full time flying there in the next year or so. Live in Wisconsin currently, but we have a cabin a bit northeast of Fairbanks off of the Steese hwy. Making a career change and looking forward to getting to Alaska full time while I’m 43 years young! Keep them coming!
What is your average altitude when tundra flying? Does Grant do 2 on/2 off for bush flying like Hageland? Thanks for sharing. (Once an Anchorage dweller)
We fly at 800 to 1200 all day long. Nothing to run into out here. 135 minimum is 500, company min is 600, and I've spent whole days scraping along at 6-700ft. CAVU days like the other day are a rare treat!
@@DefiantAero I flew a C207 out of Juneau years ago Part135 VFR. We never filed IFR nor got a pop-up (although 2miles viz and 500' is pretty IFR by most standards). Do you ever file IFR in the C207's with Grant? Thanks for the video. Feeling nostalgic.
@@DefiantAero Hey I applied several times. What is the trick to get a call back? Should I just go up and visit?
@@nathanaller2835 I wish I could say, but I think most of the management has changed since I was there last, and I know Covid really slowed them down. I'd say call their phone line and ask to speak to the chief pilot. Be persistent!
@@nathanaller2835 yup
What a great video bro! im subbed keep it up!
I have a cutlass and can give you a small pointer when you drop the gear put 10 degree flap at the same time. The plane will straighten up .
You: Coldest day we've had Your Passenger: YEP You: oil Pressure good Your passenger: YEP You:Little bit of a left crosswind Your Passenger: YEP yep, yep, yep.LOL
Nice adjustment on the second landing! The ground effect is way more prominent than the 172 I fly!
really appreciate the video. thanks
Talk about a stressful pattern. Great video!
Great job. #4 base to final...pretty crowded arrival. S-turns to create separation 👍🏽.
Nice scary but nice fly safe
im busy with my cpl and doing self study. How do you know its safe to enter clouds with no weather radar?
Danie Louw we're on an IFR flight plan, so we're talking to ATC over the radio, and they have the radar to help us avoid dangerous weather. Good luck on your CPL!
lonestarreview thank you for the reply. I would assume that you also get a preflight weather report/briefing? Thanks for the video and keep em coming!
Yep, standard weather brief and clearance any time it isn't clear and a million. Thanks! I have a new video coming soon!
Niiiiiicccceee. Keep flying
the cutlass 172rg is a lovely airplane
Just checked out yesterday in a 77' Cheetah our club has down at Pearland. Liked it! Engine tends to run pretty warm in these summer temps. Two of us on board, decent climb rate. Has the 160hp upgrade. First landing was crap, but after I figured out the sight picture, easy after. Thanks for posting your vids. P.S., how far back can that canopy be opened in flight? I didn't see that in the POH.
