    Thank you for your video. I was in prayer the last few days and having doubts if God was even listening. Today I asked God if he was listening, and while at work I pulled up RUclips for a brief distraction and there in the videos on the side was your title standing out. I wasn't searching for anything, I was just clicking on my regular feed of videos. Either a gift of God or happenstance, I am still thankful for the reminder.

    So do you think that the kingdom of God is the expression of what the Gospel is then? It seems the gospel or good news is the continued expression of the acts of the representatives of the kingdom. Thus, the good news is that Jesus is moving through the world through the actions of setting captives free, healing and coming up through society through kindness and subverting authority with love. Maybe?

    • @joeledonne423
      @joeledonne423 9 дней назад

      Yes, I would agree with that. The good news that Jesus and Isaiah talk about is the action that God asks us to do. We are blessed to have Jesus walk it out for us so we can see it in application.

    I think temptations come when we are awakened to what appeals to us in our sensory bank. I don't think if there's a god, that this god would purposely try to trip us up. That's a little cruel. The wisdom of discernment comes the actions of negating the temptation and recognizing an open door out. I'm sure Jesus struggled with the temptation to lash out in anger, to have the power to obliterate his enemies, but he did not give into the temptation, but chose the path of the greater vehicle of love.

    Speaking of wisdom, what if we spoke on the foolishness of taking up the cross of Christ? Wisdom says take up your cross, deny yourself and die daily. How is it that this works out in such a world chaotic beligerance and cruelty? People of faith " follow" so easily wolves in sheep's clothing when the wolves look and act nothing like Jesus. How does the wisdom of the crucified life play out in America I. 2024.? I think maybe a collaboration on the wisdom of the cruciformed life should be exegeted. Shall we?

    • @joeledonne423
      @joeledonne423 4 месяца назад

      Yes, you are right. The wisdom of Christ says that we are to die to ourselves daily. That being said, what does that look like? To me, that is dying to the ways of this world. Holding fast to the ways of Christ. As we look at the Gospels, more over the B attitudes, that is the wisdom that we should be gaining. Then, the influence of people who are not on the same path will not be able to influence us. Because their ways do not line up with the way of Christ. I would say that our measure of right and wrong needs to be readjusted so that the wisdom we learn is beneficial to all and aligns with Christ.

    Wisdom is funny thing. The screaming at us in the streets is only because people don't listen. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding is crucial for our lives. "For the one who knows does not speak, and the one who speaks does not know" (Tao He Ching). If we would just quiet ourselves, maybe we could hear what the Spirit is actually saying. Maybe.

    The allowance of God is one thing, I can see that. Humanity is a hard learner and we learn by way of acquiescence. What I don't get is god causing terrible things outside of our control to happen to supposedly cause us to trust him more. Like an excessive of faith when a child is dying of cancer and it brings you to pray without the success of a healing. That action seems to bring into question the allowance and the methods of god.

    • @joeledonne423
      @joeledonne423 5 месяцев назад

      Yes, this situation is a tough one. I don't know if I can answer it adequately, but I will try. When we have these situations, we question where God is in this? He is right there in the mess. I wish that I could give a good clear picture of why He chooses not to just heal in that moment. In Jeremiah, God says he has a plan for us. Perhaps in the midst of a tragedy, there is an action that comes out of it. An example of this is a young lady in our town stepping in front of a train. Very tragic. But that action caused my wife to step into a community after praying to host a suicide awareness meeting. This meeting showed the community that there were more resources than they knew. I know that this is a tough topic, and I wish that I could say I have the exact answer, but unfortunately, I don't.

    Maybe the idolatry studied there is the adopting of cultural norms. When we take the high seat, or want the high seat, we will bow to the gods of prosperity, power and pleasure. In doing so, that idolatry leads to oppression of others. This seems to really piss god off. I think that Jesus wants us to do things by ourselves, but his way. If people excepted and applied the gospel of Isaiah 58, that would actually look like god leading. Maybe

    Soooo, this seems to be politically charged. No difference today I see. From what I understand, Jesus set up a mandate for the installation of The Kingdom of god, or the reign of god for the those who follow him. The Kingdom reign then is established through the followers which is the antithesis to( in most respects) to the governing authorities, kings, dictators, president ect.. Is it because we like to acquiesce to real physical powers instead of the bold living out of the beattitudes? I think we like the idea of a god that is for us and will ultimately take us into some heavenly abode, so we just kind of tow the party line of who is gonna be for our success and comfort. No wonder we side step the call to " follow, take up the cross and deny ourselves.". People don't seem to really want the reign of god through the edicts of a wounded and crucified messiah.

    • @joeledonne423
      @joeledonne423 7 месяцев назад

      True. There does seem to be a disconnect from Jesus. The disconnection of looking out for others instead of yourself. Maybe the battle is an eternal battle between knowing what is right and, actually wanting to do right.

    • @noelaxton4941
      @noelaxton4941 7 месяцев назад

      @@joeledonne423 from what I can tell then, is that Jesus as King, is dangerous and he then calls, or mandates those that follow him to be just as dangerous in establishing the Kingdom as prescribed in the beatitudes. That particular way seems oddly enough, through suffering, servant hood and subversiveness like a mustard seed.

    • @joeledonne423

    I think the hardest part about this, is really trying to understand people a response to this. From the outside, that is not be a believer, I can read Jesus, his words and actions, and they speak loudly. His concern was that God would be seen in and through him. He came up against the governing authorities, Jewish and Roman and challenged their ways, traditions and iron fist ruling with the measured hand of grave and justice. What precedes Paul's Romans13 thing is Romans 12, which speaks of a life of self sacrifice and living as an example of Christ to the world in deed. To be called not justice is every persons responsibility. Spelled out not only with the words of Jesus, but also the !message from Isaiah 58. If there was any doubt of what a person, a Christian, whatever is to do in this life, this is it. Be courageous, kind and where there is space to enter in and the law is not permitting grace and mercy, be like Jesus and become the illegal rebel you were meant to be.😀

    It's worth remembering that immigrants are either documented or undocumented, but not "illegal" in the sense of criminal law because lack of documentation is a civil offense, not a criminal one. Also, "legal" immigration has changed many times in the USA over the past 150 years. Most European immigrants would be "illegal" under today's immigration laws. The behavior of migration has been continuous throughout human history, irrespective of what a given country's laws are at any given time. Lastly, immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than native-born Americans (property crime, violent crime, etc.) Immigration is correlated with more economic growth, particularly in developed countries with aging populations. Baby Boomers are retiring at record numbers and require more services and care providers in their elderly years. Immigrants are typically much younger, bring young families, start families in their new country. The USA's success as a nation has been one of immigration.
