As a kid in the sixties, I spent many, many days exploring this fabulous ruin. I climbed every tower-house to the very top. I thought I was the only person in the world interested in it, because I never once met anyone else there. This was before they put locked gates on some parts of it. At the ruined church by the road at the top, I dug out the fallen front door, and found my mothers name carved into it.

I live in kilkenny

This is where my great grandfather, James Dunne, lived until he emigrated in 1848 along with his young family and his siblings.
