He hit the reverse button by accident 😫 hope was ok
no he did not, it is a safety measure.....if you go in reverse and the steering handle gets fully vertical, this kind of 'vehicles' change the driving direction to forward, so that the operator does not get pushed against an obstacle or a against a wall. For situations where the steering handle is vertical.......you use a 'turtle' button , that allows you to creep slowly forward with the steering handle in vertical position. The more you know :)
@krisg822 doesn't change the fact he hit reverse. If the machine tried to change direction when the handle went back to the upright position the drive wheel was already over the edge.

Well, he positioned the pallet jack ALL wrong from the start. That control handle should have be closet to him(near the trailer door)and NOT away near the edge! He's very fortunate because that could have been a LOT worst than what it was.
yup. keep the heaviest end away from the end of the liftgate. right or left side, or best, the opening of the truck. that shit could've happened even if he didn't turn the lever the wrong way if his liftgate was weak. people don't think though.
If this is wrong please correct me; I believe it was the correct handle but instead of PULLING handle closed, he should have pushed the actuator handle. It doesn't look like he could reach the other actuator on the other side of the handle.
both sides of the handle are the same button, you push forward for forward and back for reverse. I guess he somehow forgot he is on the wrong side and "pushed forward" in habit
Before all of that, he should have backed it on so he would be close to the controls, and not have to lean over it. He just figured he'd save time not needing to turn it around in the box. (He figured wrong.)

@@JimsEquipmentShed I mean yes but problem is, some electric jacks require the handle to be down or it wont move. Mine at work you have to pull down a decent bit or it sets off a safety feature. if the trailer isn't wide enough he wouldn't be able to clear it without setting it off

Should have not operated electric jack in that position, might be obvious to most but not all

Can’t fix stupid 😒, the filthy state of the tall gate lifter would reflect on the state of the van, cab, his home, car, workplace and not to mention food safe regulations , I do this for a living and besides the stupidity, the cleanliness or lack of leaves little to be desired 🤢🤮. This vehicle/ company is delivering food to your favourite restaurant 🤫 I deliver food stuffs to restaurants and I will only eat home cooked meals. Best of luck to everyone else 😬. Feel free to ask management for a tour of their kitchen 👈 ACCESS DENIED 🤔🤷.
That is not a lift gate on the truck,that lift gate is part of that dock. I do agree about eating out, I drove CDL-B food service for 16yrs. and the things I have seen are hard to forget. Most people have no idea what they are being served.
Some warehouses deal in out of date & damaged food products at huge discounts,on a dock one day there were 2trailer loads of beef from another country that had pack dates on the cases a year in advance. Cases of 6-#10 cans so rusty you would not feed them to a dog but going to the place that people love to eat at.
