Home Alone could still work if you took Christmas out of it. I think that's the only reason I can see for people not thinking it's a Christmas movie. However, Christmas is still a huge part of the movie and kind of sets the vibe of the whole thing so if you took it out it would feel like a totally different movie despite having ultimately the same story. It's also very telling that Alan Thicke says, "you killed that one!" at the point when Tyler guesses something about the maternal grandmother; this suggests there may have been other wrong guesses (during the conversation) that may have been edited out. Please be careful listening to these folks who prey on the vulnerable, especially those who are grieving. Notice they give no warning of consequence that will lead someone to become better, more moral people. Don't believe me?
