Ride. Break. Repeat. Two rides both end in frustration!!

First ride takes place over Easter '23, was great trip until an uncommon breakdown leads me to leave vacation early to start repairs. I dont get to return to finish my trip until 4th July '23...only to have that trip also get cut short due to mechanical failure. BUT in between breaks still got to do some the best riding I've ever gotten in HnM trails!! Intro music; Straight Through by Groove Ba...

Bloody Skillet Ride turns to Bloody Heck! Wheel Bearing Failure!!
Not this smooth in 2024!
I’ve heard it’s gotten chewed up !!! I actually haven’t been back since but just rode Phillipsburg, PA area and that’s a blast too!!
Tunnel is closed off. Locked with a gate now.
Connecticut any city had me rolling.
We went yesterday. Found your video before we went. Very accurate description. At office i did see the shower token sign and thought maybe they put it there after seeing you youtube. 😂 New rider here, we are about 90 minutes from Rock Run. We didnt like the 2 way traffic.
@@Runicrachel I should get back there and ride it again….!!!
Once again GREAT!!! video . One day I'll get to ride the tunnel and see the horse .
@@mksjj70 go down in the fall and get bonus of leaves changing color !
Very Cool B-Rad miss riding with you.
Great video Brad!
Great Video!
I’m gonna have to get you back down there with me to do some singing!!! 😂 could really echo in that mine shaft!!
I had a blast with you brother. Looking forward to next time.
As a New Yorker I thank you for calling the Tappan Zee Bridge by its proper and original name. I'm pretty sure that the Cuomo family are the only NYrs that like the new name
WOW!!! B-Rad365 these videos really keep me on the edge of my seat. Keep up the great work!
Great videos! Keep them coming.
Thank you! I’d make more if I could ride more!!! 👍🏻
We really enjoy all your videos. We are going to be at HMT Oct. 21-27, you should come ride with us. We'll be staying at the Mudpit and hitting the outlaws around Ziggy's and making runs to Barker's Creek.
I know exactly all those places and it’s all great rides!!! Awesome invite but I’m goin for a week in October to Ride Royal Blue in TN with a group, dunno the exact week yet(the others goin can’t make a decision) but it will be sometime in October. Wish I was retired I could go allll the time! Gotta hit that lotto! Lol
Hello from York pa! Where can I get info on riding new Hampshire?
Hello near neighbor!!! Best info for area I was in is to look up Jericho State Park in Berlin, NH. All riding in the area is largely based out of this park and it’s surrounding areas. Great area to camp/stay at and run out of and has places to eat and fuel, etc. The area and the riding is much more laid back than for example like Hatfield n McCoys trails, in NH they police the streets and don’t bend no rules, it’s not a big deal long as you’re not there to get crazy and run fast all over. But it’s def a great area and beautiful!! www.nhstateparks.org/find-parks-trails/jericho-mountain-state-park/
Go ride pikes, Peak, Colorado Springs, that one you will know a difference
My brother came with me to Silverton, CO last September and we rode for a week there….I thought I had seen narrow/steep/dangerous trails here on the east coast but those were nothing compared to CO!!!!! So amazingly beautiful a place to ride!!!
@@wildstar365 yup i’ve been there. I lived in Colorado for 30 years. I know all about those steep drop offs, spooky, right
I was going to buy a n xx .. I watched this and bought a Yamaha
I will comment on as many of these videos I can. side by side drivers, keep rite and slow the fuck down! I was run off the trail three 3 time this weekend. you suck!
what do you need to ride in NH as a non resident?
Just need a permit, I think there were choices on how long permit you buy is good for…we bought 10day permits(didn’t need any more time) and of coarse it was cheaper than seasonal ones. Pretty sure we got em at our camp ground but I think most gas stations near trails sell em!!! That’s it! Cheap too. You’ll get a sticker to place on both front and back of your machine.
That's why you don't ride alone. I had a similar "tommy tipover" but was lucky some complete strangers helped me upright my rzr. Sadly, as the trails get longer and more numerous, the upkeep goes down,
Excellent coverage. Sometimes it’s good to ride out on your own to avoid all the drama from big group rides. Just have to be a little more cautious when out on your own though and make sure maintenance on your ride is up to par.
The more I ride, the more I prefer riding alone! Lol it’s great to have others to share experience with but man you can move so much quicker and change plans on the fly when alone! I really pride myself on the maintenance of my machine too so it’s as reliable as I can try to make it. Abt 90% time that works out perfect….can’t predict everything!!
What type of mount do you have your tablet on?
It’s just a universal cheapo mount, www.amazon.com/iBOLT-TabDock-Bizmount-AMPs-Countertops/dp/B07BKPC4K8/ref=asc_df_B07BKPC4K8/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309812019776&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5914187598796908046&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007414&hvtargid=pla-570083685015&psc=1 That’s one just like it, to attach it to my cage tho I modified the clamp. I threaded bolt holes into cage and shortened mounting plate to keep it up high as possible
@@wildstar365 awesome thanks. We are planning to check this place out in June for the weekend. Never been there before.
Great video! I too have recently installed a map system in my buggy. Have not used it yet, as we usually have a guide lead us around, but in case we loose them, it will be nice to have. I read somewhere that they have closed the Sophia Tunnels, which is a bummer, but not exactly sure. Question - I see you installed a Night Rider scanner type light on the front of your machine. OK, probably ordered it from Amazon - but which one did you get? And is it surviving mud, water, etc? I'd like one of those!
Be a real shame if thats true abt the tunnels!! Hope it’s not true! Yeah the scanner in front was just a 24” LED strip with only Blue n Red lights and could be toggled between multiple modes with a remote. I set it to all red, that scanner mode and havnt touched the remote since!!! It’s been over 3yrs mounted to machine and not a single problem!!!! Dude it was as generic a LED as they come, I figured I’d see how it worked out and it still good! Was like $20
Love the videos. What kind of wiper and wiper motor do you have installed on your RZR?
Awesome! Thank you! I used a Mazda Speed3 (hatchback wiper) motor out of a local U-PullIt near me, $20! Took a washer tank out of a F150 and bang you’re in business! Having a motorized wiper is a huge perk!…..when it’s raining or puddle jumping !
@@wildstar365 thanks man, I have a manual wiper and looking to upgrade without paying Polaris $600 for one.
liked everything but you haulin ass everywhere, thats why we wont go there. dont need to get ran over weekend warriors
I like your video, you give a lot of information. We are staying in Ashland resort end of March and wondering how far is the tunnel and dam from there? Also are you using Bob's T map? Thanks and subscribed.
Not BobTs , I use the Lifetime trail map app….all of em will guide ya there, Lifetime has points of interest I find helpful!!! The tunnels are far and I found take some improvisation….but totally worth it!!!
This is the kind of riding I enjoy. Not drunk, rolling in a backwoods mud hole, chasing out the locals with huge dust clouds, rutting the trails, with jungle country hip hop cranked in a mud hole. Then they bring their junk pile to the Polaris/CanAm Service bay and complain when they can't get their junk repaired under warranty. Oh wait let me role my utv again, full send captain jackass!
Lmao!! Hey….I know a couple those guys! Lol 😂 don’t we all!? If Polaris put rear trailing arm suspension on their General I’d be buying one tomorrow! Slower(than most) riding allows ya to take in the scenery and see things you’d miss otherwise. I like a spirited sprint on an open trail as much as the next guy but I’d bet 90% of my actual riding is just enjoying where I’m at and watching out for others coming towards me.
Dude these videos were awesome!! I’m working on getting a group together and hope to do this in 2024!
Thanks!!! Do it!! No video can capture the scope of the scenery like actually being there!!
@@wildstar365 that’s the truth for sure!
Great video. Maybe it is the camera perception or my old age talking, but it seems like you go a little too fast to avoid a head on, when driving on the one lane trails that have hills and blind curves? I love the exploration and lookouts.
When I’m lead I go slower, and even I can watch my video and think it looks faster than it actually was when I drove it!! When I’m riding in our usually group I’m 2nd or 3rd and lead car has the job of worrying abt oncoming traffic. Lead will try to stop and let the traffic know whats coming behind lead rider so they have a big heads up how many more coming. I absolutely worry abt head on collisions but gotta say none of us have ever had an issue. But you gotta be defensive out there!
When it's too soggy & snowy or just too busy to ride...I get a 5% partial fix watching others do it when I can't... (',
Watching other riders try things I’m not sure I’d do is easily half the fun! And sometimes it inspires me to give it a shot…maybe it’s peer pressure but whatever it is it’s still fun!
Yep i retired and do you tube for my income now :)
Jealous over here
That cool Bronco, is actually a Scout. I own a couple. It really was cool
Saw many new Broncos on trails but that was the only Vintage one!!! A couple 80’s Toyota Land Cruisers tho…?! Lol them old Scouts have more character than any version the new ones, IMO
Really enjoy your videos. I’m in Ohio so I’d definitely love to plan a trip there soon! Great job and keep the videos coming. Definitely helps seeing some interesting places to help plan some great rides.
Thank you so much!!! At least from Ohio you are a little bit closer to Colorado!! If you have the time, absolutely should go!!!
I love tall pines !
very neat. enjoy the videos. do you have to stay on the trails? can you drive off the path?
Staying on the trails is 90% the time the ONLY safe place to be driving!! A lot of the areas are marked as protected tundra so can’t off trail there but plenty of places people camp or hike and hunt and in those places you can off trail a lot but the trails are only places clear enough or safe enough to get around.
I'm not going to lie, some parts of Cinnamon Pass had me a bit scared. I'd still go back though! 😁
It’s definitely sketch at moments….wouldn’t take not paying attention long to go over the edge!!!!
Speed limit is posted 25 MPH within all of Jericho State. 🤪 ... just saying.
You have made a ne destination point for my ‘bucket list’… great video
Thank you! It’s such a beautiful place to see and explore.
The video looks better than my pics do, seeing it in motion is much nicer. I look better than I felt in most of this video, dang elevation!!! 😁
Lmao! I must agree the vids captured the scenery better than stills could!!!
Good job Brad. The Mengel men on adventure. Matt looked like he was holding on for life.
I was!!!! 😎
If your name is “Brad”, that’s the sickest channel name I’ve ever seen. If not, still pretty awesome. Sick video BTW. Thank you for uploading! Sorry I saw it late!
Many thank yous and my name is Brad 👍🏻
Ride the wilds is amazing. In August I just did my 6th trip to ride up there. Got just over 2800 miles on in nh in the 6 trips total.
Well damn!!!! That makes you a definitive expert on the area…..you offer tours??! Lol awesome!
Would you ever consider a can am?
What can am currently offers?….no. Not because I don’t like them aesthetically, it’s what you get for your money I can’t abide. Not even their highest model comes with back up camera or navigation built in or a touch screen display of any kind. And those high end models still come with single shear a-arm mounts and pull cords for door latches. This is a picky list, I know but for the same money or even less in many cases you get more for you buck from several other manufacturers. My biggest dislike maybe the rear bed storage, anything you put back there at all will block a rear view mirror and being only three sided(no tail gate lip) more chance things get out, this is a shared dislike I have with Honda and Yamaha too tho. For woods riding(what I mainly do) side view mirror take too much abuse to keep fixing so a rear view mirror is better. Carrying the tools to trail side fix is important so a bed with usable storage is important. And what machines all cost these days getting your moneys worth is important. I don’t hate can am at all, just not for me is all I can vouch for.
Just watched a video from 2021, the first tunnel you didn't want to chance was closed off.! Your video was awesome. I loved how you showed what trail you were on and then what may have turned into. Very informative. I know you are an experienced rider, knowing your limitations of what you want to do, but without help, chose wisely. My wife and I are heading down to Hatfield and McCoy trails in 2 days, first time there. Staying at Twin Hollows near Gilbert, WV. We ride 4x4 utility atv's, and like the more 50' challenging trails. Trying to stay away from the Side X side traffic. At least here in Michigan. I had a bad experience with one a year ago, met a 4 seater at a crossing, no stop sign for either of us. I was going 25mph, he was doing 60 at least. Caught him in the rear tire. Totaled my atv, and flipped him on his side for 60 ft. Skid. Another second sooner and I wouldn't be texting this comment.! So, anyway, I'm thinking we will run the northern trail systems and then maybe return next year, and hit the southern trail systems where you rode. Looks amazing. Great job on your own and great video. Thanks.
Thank you so much!!! Sucks abt that accident in Michigan but I absolutely understand this situation, I would love to and could def ride faster than I do BUT I’m also a motorcycle rider(street) and riding defensively is just my way. I can’t help but think abt what may be coming around blind corners and hopefully the other guy is paying attention as well!! Really glad it wasn’t worse for you and awesome you still riding!! What part of Michigan was that at? I’ve been north and south of Houghton area in the U.P. and some places in Lower as well!!
@@wildstar365 the accident happened in the Atlanta, Michigan orv trails. My atv was a 2020 yamaha kodiak 700. Brand new. Didn't have insurance on it yet. So, $3000 later and had to wait 7 months for a new frame, have it all back together.
That sounds like it totally sucked!!!
What mount for the tab you running and you mind sharing your ride files?
The mount was an Amazon generic spring tension clamp type, I made a bracket and welded it to cage to mount it up that high, couldn’t find one that got it that high from factory…. And I’d gladly share any ride files I have!…if I knew how!!? Lol
Anywhere that KRX with its width couldn’t go?
The KRX was fine everywhere, most bollards we found were set at like exactly 68” …the KRX is 68.5” stock but it squeezed thru!
Is there a way I could rent an off road vehicle like the one you are driving on location?
Far as I know there is a place in Bluefield, WV you can rent Kawasaki KRXs from! I don’t remember the name of place(I’ve never been to it) but I know it’s really close to Buffalo Trail Cabins where I’ve stayed many times!! That’s a great machine to rent and run!!!
We were at buffalo trails the same weekend we saw that pro r a couple times. Caught my eye bc I have one ordered lol.
So cool!!! It’s just an absolute beast of a machine! My friend could not stop raving abt its ride quality and power, no doubt you will love it!!!!
@@wildstar365 that’s great to hear! He have any issues with the size on the trails?
@@DonnieF85 only issue was the one expected, when passing by riders coming opposite way just hope its not at a tight spot on switchbacks...we didnt have any moments where it was an issue and that was a busy weekend!!
Fantastic time and THANK YOU B-Rad. Great video for sure. M5 out
So glad you three made the long drive down to hang(and escape the snow for a little bit!) haha We gotta find a place to ride again that’s abt middle ground between us…I’ll have to look into spots!!!
Ya 68" machine is illeagle in nh fyi... gates are to keep trucks off of trails
What trail did ya take to go from RRB to Tacket and I do have tge lifetime trail maps
However you want to, get to Royal Blue trail #25, that will take you to Duff Road, take Duff to Davis Road(these are blacktop maybe 4miles worth?) and parking for Tackett area will be on your right, if you’re riding machines to Tackett just enter here! It’s not bad at all to get there!
