I hope this does not come off as rude however next time you could make the croutons in advance plus every component of salad can be made ahead of time then just mix and add dressing when you want to serve.I would also make the sauce for the pasta in advance and just reheat.I think what went wrong was just doing to many things at once which is especially hard when you have people over and you feel and duty to chat with them. Hopefully your next event goes well
