Also, I feel like the marketing for this game did a really bad job of setting expectations with how much Mech combat there would be. As a kid, I wasn't a huge mech fan and I remember that was a deterrent for me too.

Yeah no, I can’t give an unbiased take on this game. This game was literally my childhood, having played it with my dad and my brother so early in my life that I literally don’t have any memories without Lost Planet (also named my pet turtle Wayne). LP2’s campaign was better imo, but LP1’s multiplayer was the shit back in the day. I just want Capcom to do SOMETHING with the IP.

I played this game pretty recently after having only played the second one as a kid and I thought it was pretty fun. Did you use a controller or keyboard when playing because I used a controller and don't recall having to change anything to have the camera fixed to the center of the screen. I never played the 3rd after seeing it wasn't as much like the second as I wanted, I was also didn't have the leeway to just buy whatever games at the time. The story of the games gets progressively less anime as the sequel's go on, though not by alot. This first one is absolutely crazy, you could probably pick any random semi popular shounen anime/manga and find near identical main cast/plot points.

Funny thing, this game froze my Xbox before a red ring. Got the Xbox repaired, but not played since.

I definitely don't blame that melt down at the end lol. I played the game myself a couple years after it came out, and I kind of forgot how bad the camera was. Pretty much all my memories stem from Akrid Hunt in the multiplayer, and the final mission of the campaign. You can really feel the early 3rd person shooter with this one lmfao

Really wish we had a game like this again. Closest game I can think of that has a persistent war is Foxhole

I'll never forget when they added Helghast skins from Killzone into the multiplayer, it felt so sick to play

I've only ever heard of Ninja Gaiden but have never seen/played it. It's interesting looking back all those years!

Ahh yes Ninja Gaiden Black. What can I say about this masterpiece. I'd like to mention that Master Ninja and former Team NINJA leader Tomonobu Itagaki said the Ninja Gaiden revival for Xbox was actually a prequel to the NES games. In the same year, Ninja Gaiden got ANOTHER prequel as a mobile game for Japan called "Ninja Gaiden X". Game that is now lost, we only have ONE gameplay. In NGX they changed Ryu's father name from "Ken" (the original name) to "Jô", name used years later for Ninja Gaiden II. And, obviusly Dead or Alive is totally canon. Hayabusa wasn't supposed to be in the game, it was originally someone called "Kamui", maybe that's why Ryu looks very different in the first DoA. The ponytail and the suit do not match the NES and OVA Ryu Hayabusa, but he got lucky to enter the DoA tournament instead of "Kamui"..... In the OVA Ninja Ryūkenden, Ryu and Irene are the owners of a curio shop, I think in New York, and in DoA1 from 6 it is confirmed that Ryu still owns it. Somehow cuz DoA is before the OVA? I just don't know. Then this old timeline kinda got scrapped but if you don't mind to retcon or ignore few details... you can connect every Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive game. Also Nioh is canon, and maybe Fatal Frame/Project Zero. Who knows what else game Koei Tecmo will connect to DoA/NG. If you are curious, this could be the NG timeline, ignoring the other titles/franchises. - Ninja Gaiden Arcade. - Ninja Gaiden Shadow. - Ninja Gaiden '04/Black/Sigma. - Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. - Prologue: The Vampire Wars, Ninja Gaiden (motion-comic). - Ninja Gaiden II/Sigma 2. - Ninja Gaiden 3/Razor's Edge. - Ninja Gaiden X (lost game with one original footage on RUclips). - Ninja Gaiden/Ryūkenden NES. - Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom. - Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. - OVA Ninja Ryūkenden. The many ports of NG in the 90's do not count for this. There's also Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z and Ninja Gaiden Clans or "Ninja Gaiden of 1 million people", but i don't know about those. Sorry if this was too much info but I wanted to add more details about the original release for Xbox. One more thing, for some reason New York is often attacked in the DoA/NG universe; NG Arcade, NG Shadow, NGII, OVA NR, and the DOATEC main city.

Guys I want to get started on my own RTS in UE5 with some core mechanics lifted from this title and some of my other all time favorites (namely the army builder, extraction mechanic, and persistent multiplayer mode) I would love any idea crafting or assistance from others in any form namely an intuitive way to get around the need for boosting avoid the same flaws from this gem

My first FPS Game Ever and it Started my Gaming Career. Played the OG Xbox Version and I honestly take it over the 360 version.

GRAW 2 is still worth playing today. Especially for the coop modes. What also makes it great is that it has plenty of maps from the first 2 games as dlc as well.
