2010–2023 Lexus GX 460: A Complete Reliability Guide
The second generation Lexus GX 460 was produced from 2009 to 2023. How Reliable is The Ford Fusion(2012-2020)?All the weak and strong points
Просмотров 46 тыс.5 месяцев назад
The second generation Ford Fusion, produced from 2012 to 2020, became an extremely popular sedan, competing with such well-known models as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. But how reliable is it? Unfortunately, not all engines in the Ford Fusion lineup are equally durable. The 1.6 Ecoboost engine turned out to be problematic and was replaced by the more reliable 1.5 Ecoboost. Additionally, th...
Nissan Armada Y62: still a good buy in 2024? A Complete Reliability Guide
Просмотров 75 тыс.10 месяцев назад
The Nissan Patrol/Armada Y62 has been in production since 2010, and updates have been limited to facelifts only. Initially, the Patrol was offered with two engine options: the 5.6 L VK56DE and VK56VD. However, in the latest facelift, the version with distributed injection was removed, and instead, a 4.0 L VQ40DE V6 engine was introduced (for the UAE market). The transmission remains unchanged, ...

How Reliable is the New 2024 Toyota Tacoma? Bye forever, durable naturally aspirated engines.
Просмотров 39 тыс.Год назад
Toyota is deviating from its traditions, and reliable naturally aspirated engines on the new 2024 Fourth generation Tacoma are now a thing of the past. In their place comes the new turbocharged 2.4L T24A-FTS turbo I4 (TZNA40/41/45/46), along with a hybrid version, the 2.4L T24A-FTS turbo I4 (TZNH47). The question arises: how will this impact the reliability of a model that has been the epitome ...

Reliable Chevy? Assessing the Durability of the New Chevrolet Traverse 2024. Despite not getting much information about the new 2.5 LK0 engine at the third-generation Traverse presentation, it represents a part of GM's new family of turbocharged engines. So, we already know that the 2.5 LK0 will be a downsized version of the 2.7 L3B, and there's a lot to discuss here. We'll also explore the sim...
I'm a Toyota guy but the wife and I were gifted a 2013 Fusion in 2017 with only 13k miles on it from a family member's will. It's been a decent car. Some issues seem to show up a lot earlier than expected such as dying lights, radio screen going bad, and other small wackiness. While we appreciate it immensely because it was such a wonderful gift, we've decided probably never to buy a Ford in the future. There's just so many small things and issues that the Ford has that even our older 2001 4Runner seems to be fine with. We constantly have battery issues with the Ford, and things that have lasted 15+ years on the 4runner had issues within 5'ish years with the Ford. The Fusions per year cost though has been quite reasonable. Not a fan of that tiny gas tank compared to the 07 Camry I had before it. We still have the Fusion, but have regulated it to on and off duty so hopefully we can get another 5~6 years out of it without any major catastrophic issues.
The 2.5 is genuinely the best engine you can get in this generation Fusion. All of the other engines are too problematic and complex to repair. the 2.5 is an older, much more proven engine design. If you maintain it, it could very well last you 200k+ on the original powertrain. The 1.6-1.5s are absolutely the worse. I don't even trust their "updated design" post 2019, the engine is too small for the size of the car, i don't trust that the updated design will really make the engines anymore reliable.
Former Fusion 2.3L eco boost owner here... 200K strong and no issues with turbo or bottom end. Yes turbos are or will be a component that will need replacement at some time, but you act like its common as oil changes. I am not in the least bit worried.
This was a very informative video. Thank you!
Turbo is commercial grade this time is very robust
The new engines are not more efficient and will fail. The new interior of the 550 is hideous, its a Toyota Vezna design in an $80k SUV. Hidious.
I own a 2019 Traverse LT. So far I have replaced the windshield wipers and a valve core on the left rear tire. That is the way it should be. The engine uses no opil. The transmission shifts perfectly. I cringe when I hear the word 'Turbo'. That word has always been bad news. I also cringe when I hear that the current engine has 4 cylinders. That is always bad news. It appears that the new engine selection was created to save money on making the cars and trucks while the price has gone up. So it is about greed more than building a quality vehicle.
Environmentally friendly my ass.. when you have to replace and waste more metals when the AFS destroy your lifters lol
So is the 2018-2020 and 2021-2023 v8 North American armada good?
yep
It’s not the 90’s anymore. The truck will last a long time I’m sure
Забыли упомянуть про проблемы электронного термостата. Обычно отлетает на 40-75 тыс. км. Но в целом видео полезное - like.
Our ´06 GX470 has 306K and she’s still going strong. Very well built SUV
Hello, If I go over something like a speed bump with only my driver-side tire body rocks side to side. It feels like the frame and body are not tight. Is there anything you’re aware of that causes this?
I might as well throw my hat in the ring looking at everyone's fusion stories. I currently own a 2016 SE hybrid with 153k miles (purchased at 20k miles in 2018 due to it being a fleet vehicle before me) and do my own maintenance. So far the only issue I've had was a failed ABS sensor. I've kept up with mostly everything (basically i haven't touched the transmission yet 😅) from oil changes, spark plug swaps, ignition coils since I was in there and i was at 130k miles, and a few other things. This car has treated me very well. The only thing I'm sad about is having to trade it in soon for a bigger vehicle for the sake of space due to a new addition of a family member (it's a boy). I'd recommend this car but like this video says, low mileage with good history and if you're able to keep up with the maintenance
Thumbs up just for that intro music
Sounds like the V56 and the 40 is the best engines What model or year have these engines
Mine has 155k and has never been in the shop
My 2013 Gx460 at 197k miles is a tank. I will hope to pass this down to future kids even with repairs that are bound to arise. Replaced a radiator, CV axle boot, and all fluids regularly (differential, transmission, oil, brake, power steering) , added a transmission cooler to extend the life, the spark plugs. Other than that, it is solid. Stock suspension feels great even at this amount of time.
Congrats on the review. Comprehensive, to the point and so helpful!
Happy to hear it was helpful! 👍🏻
Got a 2016 Mazda cx-30 2.0L with 180k miles. Only think I’ve done are oil changes, brakes/tires and spark plugs. Great vehicle.
I don't like that it's designed by a fat American...
2023 Traverse 2552 miles. Sadly it ended beginning of this year, but it did it's job and we both walked away from the passenger side impast at 40+ MPH at an intersection. Got great gas mileage up to 40 mag from LA to Mesa, AZ filled up twice! No prob with trans or engine. Detailed every week. Used 93 ( premium) octane gas. The only issue was slow infotainment and a gasket deformity by rear lift gate, which was never resolved. I'm in the market for another Traverse RS.
I have a 2011 and a 2017, both been pretty good, but the build quality on the 2011 is way better. the 2011 is a 2.4 I4 and the 2017 is a 2.0. Great all around but my 2017 isnt as comfy as my 2011 my 17 dash started warping and seats being terrible, computer issues on the 17 made my passenger window roll back down when it got to the top, fixed by dealer but still. speakers blew on the 17 a year after purchase, but overall the cars are good, but the 11 is built way better
2017 Fusion Energi SE over 180,000 kms. Best car I ever owned. Not much fixing only had to replace lead acid batteries once. Was over $600 Cdn but used a Ford $1000 gift card given to me by dealership during sale of car. Brakes are still original because car uses electric motor to stop and regenerate electricity. Due for some major maintenance like CVT oil replacement, wheel bearing due to pot hole, just changed original tires last year with Nokian tires excellent tires. I would be happy for another 180,000 kms.
Looks like in USA the premium petrol is 91 octane , in Australia we have 91 , 94,95 and 98 and Cx5 in Australia is compatible with 94 and higher ( 95,98)
In 2016 I bought a brand new CX-5 put 61,000 miles on it with not one problem. In 2020 I traded in the 2016 for a brand new CX-5 . Last week 2025 Jan. I traded in the 2020 CX-5 with 45,000 miles on it, no problems, for my beautiful Red Mazda CX-5 and we love it.
My 2025 CX5 has cylinder deactivation and auto start stop which I am not to pleased with but I hope that these two features are not a problem in the future. If anyone has had problems with either would ya please let me know what is going on. Other than these two features I really like my Mazda CX5 alot
I own 3 Mazdas a cx5 acx9 and a Mazda 3 best cars I ever owned
I owned a 2024 Mazda AWD Turbo Premium and it was probably the most fun vehicle I've ever owned. Fast, nimble and good looking, too. It was very well built as you would expect something still made in Japan would be. Before I bought it, I also test drove the CX-30, CX-50, and CX-90. All were nice vehicles, but the CX-5 seemed to be the most well made and had a real quality feel to it. Sadly, I had to trade it in for a larger vehicle to accommodate my wheelchair bound wife at the time. I would highly recommend the CX-5, specifically the Turbo edition to anyone considering it.
The original HF35 transmission in my 2013 that just cracked 233k watching this video ⚆ _ ⚆
This would be a good idea for a series...How Reliable is....(12'Camry, 06'RAV4...)
Would you do a review of 2010-2016 MB E350?
Next lexus nx300 reliability 🎉
I’m a Chevy fan but I came here to research hybrids made in America by American workers.
They took the best pick-up truck and wrecked it!
New Lexus models from 2024 with turbocharged engines are not capable for off road use compared with gx470 or gx460.
Screw a turbo charger in it. The 2.5 is perfect without it.
Cx5 is VERY reliable. I have had 2 of them. I have issue with a few little things. I had to disable the digitizer in the infotainment system. Mazda did not enter the crossover market in 2012. You are forgetting about their crossover before that. The cx7 and they have made cx9s before the cx5 as well
I have a 2013 Fusion Energi that just hit 310,000 miles with maintenance as stated in the owner's manual. Still running strong. I'll report back when I experience my first component failure.
wow, that's cool 👏🏻
I had a 2015 Fusion SE, non eco boost. It had almost 250,000 miles when the transmission went out. Before that, it was trouble free miles! I miss that car.
I miss my fusion but the wifey wanted something with more features (we had an SE trim) so was traded it on a slightly newer Camry XSE. I love the Camry and it is definitely a better car in nearly every aspect besides ride quality. Somehow the fusion suspension was soft and comfortable even over rough roads while still handling exceptionally well for a “family sedan” ! Now, after figuring out that they made a sport edition of the fusion, I might have to look for one cause that sounds like something I would really enjoy.
Absolutely do not buy the Diesel. ALL modern diesels are bound to experience problems with the EGR System and swirl flaps in the intake manifold basically the EGR clogs everything up with soot. And thats just the start of all the problems with modern diesels. For an everyday driver you want an NA gasoline/petrol engine.
Halfway through the video and yea this guy def knows what he's talking about. Very useful resource!
I just bought a 23’ GX 460. It better last more than my since new 04’ Jeep TJ, 12’ GC and 11’ Compass. Didn’t want to buy a new Jeep because of all the bad reviews on them.
There were still supply issues with the GX 460 in 2023. You could not order one, and the majority were for buyers waiting for delivery. If the buyer did not want it on arrival, then it became available. Lexus could have sold far more. They loaded the ones they did make however; Captains chairs, ML, upgrading wheels, etc., anything to pump up the price and profit.
I got the 2.5 duratec,,,runs like a top
Mazda RX-8 was a nightmare with electrical problems.
Do f150 next :D
Question to hybrid owners, I heard that engine gets very loud at highway speeds(~90mph) is that true?
Any Mazda model is more reliable than wherever others 😎
