Anglesey 2014 Race 2 front and rear view
First try with some picture-in-picture software my lovely lady treated me to today, so hopefully it works as planned. In-car footage from Race-2 on a very windy and occasionally damp Anglesey Circuit. A very strong headwind on the bottom straight robbed two seconds a lap from my times of the previous day, and this, along with some drizzle making my exit of 'Church' corner slower towards the end of the race, meant that Simon Deaton in his Porsche 997 Cup managed to get past me on the last lap to take the win. Good fun race though, as always at Anglesey, one of my favorite circuits. I hope you enjoy.

Good fun race this, well worth a watch I hope. After a strong qualifying I led the race for a few minutes and was pulling away a bit so I was driving around the track alone, which I felt would be boring for the spectators as well as for me so I slowed down and let Simon Deaton in his 997 Cup and Doug Elwood in his LS3-Powered Marcos. That made things much more fun (for me at least) as we spent ...

Lovely day with little wind and managed to better my best previous time with a 1m10.6s lap. Enough for pole by about two seconds.

I had a great race in this one (honest), unfortunately much of the action was missed by the camera because it fell off it's mount. A good amount of rain a little while before we were due to race had the track pretty wet but the rain had stopped and the track slowly drying, so we had to make a decision which tyres to use. The Mitsubishi, the two Porsche 997 Cups and the Holden Supercar V8 chose ...

Lost a place to Alex's Holden but gained one on Andy's BMW so netted 5th in this race from 5th on the grid. Early in the video when I'm right behind the Porsche 997 you can see the difference made by the relative power outputs, even though the power-to-weight ratios are not very different, maybe by about 10 or 15% in the Porsche's favour. Where the big power really helps in in pushing the car t...

Snetterton 200 circuit with its long straights doesn't really suit my car with its comparatively low power. A problem with my throttle-blipper meant that gearchages were being done manually and it occasionally stuck in the closed position, leaving me with just idle speed. 5th (out of 6) was my grid position after qually. Race 1 netted me 5th place (see next video) after a good race with the BMW...

Quite an eventful race for me this one... Had a minor clash with an aparently over-shooting Subaru at the start into Redgate that bumped me across almost into the Nissan to my left. A few laps in I got run onto the grass by another Subaru that I was lapping who (hopefully) just hadn't seen me, the next time I came round to lap him, in the left-hander bit of 'Craner-Curves' I made sure it was a ...

In-car from race-2 on a cool and slippery Anglesey Coastal Circuit. Fine rain just starting as we all set out on cold slicks, track was still too dry for wets. The rain stopped for a while then started again, a little harder this time. My tyres started to cool off and I started losing front-end grip, causing lots of understeer and loss of corner exit speed (you can hear me lifting mid corner a ...

A new camera position gives a much better view of the fun times I had racing with Dennis Crompton's 400-ish bhp M3. Our cars were very evenly matched here, his greater power helping him to pull away up the straights a bit and my better mid-corner speed allowing me to pull it back. There were only hundredths between our times. At around 9 1/2 minutes into the vid I was unsighted by his car going...

In-Car from Snetterton 21/07/12 Arrowpak Eurosaloons race. I didn't expect the Cappuccino to be competitive at all here because I've never raced here before (which explains some of the timid attempts at braking and cornering) and also the straights are very long and require big bhp to get a decent lap time. However, the amount of time lost on the straights was mostly made up in the mid-corners ...

Only four laps to this race (with three counting) as a nasty accident involving a Clio (again) and a Seat Leon Cupra Cup car stopped the race. Being late in the day with barrier damage to repair it was deemed a result, rather than have another race on Sunday that there might not have been time to fit in anyway. Watch for the RX7 going off at the bottom of Paddock Hill on the third lap, running ...

In-car footage from second Eurosaloons race at brands Hatch on 10/06/12. Tentative start due to a very oily track and cautious first-time racing at this circuit. Scrapping for a while with the red Evo, started to lose the brake pedal a bit at around 9 mins in so gave them a rest for a lap or two to then come back at, pass and leave the Evo. Very nearly lapped all the other cars in class (passin...

this is exactly what I was looking for I knew with the right set up this would be a match made in heaven sounds like a a turboed inline already race ready motor with higher potential and a super light car passing dream cars
What a weapon !!! They should have full conversion kits available, id buy one for mine instantly!!!
You just cured my insomnia due to anxiety bro!! There's nothing like an opera conducted by a fellow motorhead playing those 1300 angelic cc.
warmup ends 1:59 - 2:37
We need an update, with a turbo in it
If it had a turbo then game over
at 20 minute mark that little cap is dialed in from there on. Great driving as well
Yup.. this turned out as expected 😳 fucking madness!
The thought that this lil shit kept up with these cars and some clean passes is amazing! 👏 Nothing but respect for this dude!
u need more hp's to beat them
Are you driving with the Hayabusa Gearbox? Was there any firewall cutting needed as you fit the engine in?
Yes, there were considerable modifications required, the transmission tunnel needed to be wider and the left side chassis leg needed notches for the head pipes. The engine is dry sump lubricated.
@@wayneschofield5978 I think you should dust her off give her the things you've been thinking about for to long go have some fun and show them how it's done 👍👍👍👍
This thing sounds amazing. Great driving too.
u cant buy skill
Like a boss.
God that BMW is absolutely mad.
What race series is this?
It's the Northwest Sports and Saloon car championship. This video is from the start of the 2010 season. :-)
Thank you mate much appreciated I’ll search for some more videos
woah i know how fast this thing can brake but idk why he's breaking a bit early
heroic feat 100%
That was freaking AWESOMEE!!!! I loved every bit of it! I have a Cappuccino myself and boy watching this made me excited for you!
I can see the cars this little thing is passing. It's a beast out there!
Shit, is that drone your roof about to lift off, I kept expecting something bad to happen when it started droning and the roof fluttering. The Bmw driver must be frustrated at having a kei car riding his arse lol.
That car would be an absolute blast, and a rocket as well. With that engine and the 1400 lb curb weight stock, and I'm assuming they lightened it as much as they could, makes this thing insane with a Hayabusa engine in it. Even unmodified it's probably doubling power, and I'm assuming this one got a little massaging done to the engine. I wish I had this! I also wish I had about 90 other cars but a man can dream!
Mods?
STICH666, yes there are/were two V8 Supercars in this championship, an earlier Falcon and a later Commodore. It was very rare that I beat the falcon but I often beat the commodore because it had much less power than the falcon, about 550 Vs 650 of the bigger Ford engine.
Not in this race, no, but given that I've got 200hp and everyone else has very much more I did my best. 🙂 Some of the cars have 650hp. In this race I struggled a bit with a brake bias problem making the rears run too hot, which is why at times you'll hear me using the gears more to help slow the car down. That's why the red Mitsubishi gets away for a few laps while I let the brakes cool, then I could attack again and pass him. Thanks for watching.
so you beat everyone basically XD
this is the most heroic thing ihave ever seen. 10/10
Is this racing series still running? And which busa engine is it?
is this in a Suzuki Cappuccino with a hayabusa engine?
Is that a legit V8 Supercar out there??
So great !! Engine : Hayabusa + CarBody : Suzuki Cappuccino
I want so badly... it looks like its possible to fit without too much modification to!
It wasn't such an easy install I'm afraid, but the results are worth the efforts I think.
Chipwizards Definately! I'd be interested in hearing more about the build if you've any documentation at all. What diff setup did you go for? Can certainly hear it whine at those high wheel speeds! :D.
rare as rocking horse poop too.
these rock. my ole man had a stock silver one a few years back, laughed my ass off.... at first. for a 660cc 3cylinder turbo, way way more power than expected. that an there god dam tiny.
We laughed at him too until he started winning...
dude your a god at rev matching that thing. that car shifts in like .06 seconds how do you do it?
Just set your peddles up properly, so when breaking the ball of your foot below your big-toe is pressing the brake pedal and you use the little-toe side of your foot to blip the throttle. Setting the peddle heights is important and it only takes a few mm of adjustment for it not to be right. If you look at my later in-car videos I've made and fitted a paddle shift system and that just uses a central-locking motor mounted on the throttle assembly to blip the throttle on downshifts. Once set up, it works great and only cost me £7.50! :-)
The hayabusa has a sequential gearbox therefore the engine is blipping the throttle automatically, it is essentially semi auto. Watch how he only ever pushes or pulls as opposed to a H pattern shifter.
+Frontality It is sequential, of course, but the ECU only cuts the power on upshifts, triggered by a switch in the gear lever mechanism. On downshifts in this (quite old) video I am rev-matching by blipping the throttle with the side of my foot on the throttle while braking with the ball of my foot. It does have a spring-preloaded mechanism on upshifts so that the upshifts are faster and getting dog-to-dog isn't a problem like it can be with an un-sprung mechanism. As mentioned in my previous reply, it now has a fully-automatic paddleshift system that I made for it, that will upshift at pre-programmed engine speeds on it's own if you don't pull the paddle before the limiter. Downshifts are done in a similar manner, but it's brake pedal position and engine revs that activates the downshift if the paddle isn't pulled and the system is set in 'auto-downshift' mode. :-)
+andrea72h ah that makes more sense, very interested in this kind of setup since I am attempting something similar with an innocent spider 1100s. Pardon my ignorance. :)
Turbocharge it! So sick. Looks like the worst part of these builds, the transmission, has been done right here.
He wanted to avoid forced induction, he said other people who use turbo busa engines eventually have an engine fail. It is being modified though.
Hi Wayne, camera mount made me giggle, but actually turned out excellent as we got to look around the cabin. Can you do a detailed walk around exterior, interior and engine bay, even underneath the car would be most excellent!

I have no idea, how to backward it.
How to backward what? The date? Americans do their dates month/day/year so 01/11/10 to them would be the 11th of January. On the 11th January here there would be snow rather than sunshine. :-)
@@Chipwizards i think he meant get the capp to go reverse
Oh, reverse gear? It's incorporated in the rear differential. The input shaft goes into the final drive case, over the top differential and there are drop gears and a reverse gear behind the differential. The pinion shaft then goes forward to drive the crown wheel round. It's an 'Elite racing transmissions MX200' final drive. It allowed the packaging of the transmission, rear suspension and the whole exhaust system to be really neat.
Was that a radical sr3 that you past?
It was an SR3 but they were only doing demo laps in it. My car is not as quick as an SR3, it is similar to the Radical Pro-Sport1300 versions on laptimes.
Chipwizards geez dude. do you have a walk around video of your beast? id lime to see it is the reason.
MrCargod05 I don't but I was thinking about doing one when I get it back together after its 'winter improvements'. There's some TV coverage from last year here if you'd like to see it from the outside.... EURO SALOONS ANGLESEY RACE 1
Sweet!
just a sick little car, wish I had this in North America.
There's a build thread on 'clubcappo.co.uk' forum....
Like the one in the videos I posted last year (2012)....? The Snetterton 300 is a good one to see it working, I moved my camera soon after and you can't see the gearchanges in the later videos. It's electric though, I bought the solenoid and made the rest. :-)
Hello! Brilliant car! Have you considered any type of pneumatic system for the gearbox? Do you have a blog or build thread of the car? Really considering one as an option.
Have you not had any more races Wayne?
how much horsepower does it got?
フライホイールってどーなってるの?
@sootyferrari65 cool, post us a link would you please? I had a look through your videos and couldn't see it.
Hey, I have outside footage of this car in one of my videos, I just noticed
Well done sir! I favor the 89-95 swift body. I love this car. In the states (for me) it started with a Geo Metro:( My parents bought new in '93. Then I found out the actual shite this creation can do by its maker, Suzuki. Skidpad of .98 G etc.... and traveled 1,820 (2929.01k) miles to buy my first '91 swift. I would like to build a "FrankenSwift" myself. What transmission was used for this project?
