minutemen are mostly good for new players. preston leads the player to various settlements and their acquisition quests. inhabited settlement will offer their quests without being sent from Preston, and require fewer steps when you don't have to report success to Garvey. uninhabited settlements don't have quests & therefore Preston giving xp for unlocking them through his quests is a positive. the only real exclusives unlocked by his quests are full access to the castle & artillery. personally i either avoid Preston and his group in Concord altogether (best option) or i lead them to Sanctuary and then rarely return. his quest-giving is nearly as annoying as the memes claim & i wouldn't want him in any settlements i frequent. also, f×ck that b×tch Mama Murphy for naming my Dog. his name is Dog, not Dogmeat and i'll force the chems on her myself if she names my best friend.

Good points. I feel the lack of weaponry and armour on-par with the "big" other 3 factions lets them down. We are the Minutemen fixes this. Having them upgrade at certain settler counts or settlements retaken would have added some depth at least.

I freaking love the Xcom series. I always played Enemy Unknown on my 360 which got me hooked on it in the first place. But when I heard of Enemy WITHIN, I nearly busted a nut! Same for Xcom 2. I got the base game for the Xbox One, and didn't even know about WotC. Once I did start playing the other versions, I felt like I could never go back to base game again!

This is one of the advantages of Long War: The Sniper is paired with the Scout so you aren’t necessarily stuck with 3 long range combatants you don’t need.

dude I was playing a level where a muton hit one of my guys, he panicked and killed the muton but then another dude panicked and decided to shoot my sniper.

You use the command spell with shadowheart to have him drop his sword grab it on the way out kill everything else and he'll do so little damage the fight with the mind flayer will take forever

And this my friend, is why you invest in scanning beacons, as soon as you see a pod of seekers, just throw one between where you saw them and your squad and they’ll be easy.
