Assembling BioAmp v1.5 (2023 Edition) | No-code setup to record and listen to EMG signals
BioAmp V1.5 (2023 Edition) is a small size portable biopotential amplifier with a no code setup to record and listen to your muscle signals (EMG) non invasively. The best part is that it doesn’t require any microcontroller (like Arduino) to sample the signal. You just plug a 9V battery into the board, electrodes to the body, and an audio jack to a mobile/laptop, and you are ready to record signals from muscles (EMG) using softwares like audacity or Backyard Brain’s spike recorder app.

    What if you don't blink? Is it still going loud? Does it measure the time of blinking and take the average?

      The threshold for time interval between the 2 eye blinks is set to be 6000ms or 6 sec which means that whenever someone feels drowsy and doesn't blink for 6 sec (either by closing the eyes for more than 6 sec or opening the eye continuously for more than 6sec), then the buzzer will beep and to wake up the person.       Thanks a lot! We do have BioAmp Bands that are dry electrode based bands to record ECG, EEG or EMG. But it is difficult to make a band type interface for EOG. Let us know if you have any suggestions for us.

    you think it's possible to take these waves data and use in Arduino to control the pins. So that I can use these brain signals to control servos or other device? EMG feature of your device can do it but I wanna make sure if we can do the same with EEG feature too?

      @@UpsideDownLabs I'm on the verge of finding a really affordable brain sensor that can translate brain signals into digital signals so that anyone with no or surface understanding of biomedical engineering or EEG can incorporate the brain waves in their project and we can advance the concept of BCI to a wider audience. Other EEG sensors are comparatively high. You guys are amazing, this startup and product is amazing. I will order the kit and try to figure out this EEG sensor with Arduino. Meanwhile, if you guys come up with something that can be used to control the microcontroller pins using this EEG please please do let everybody know. Thanks!

      Humari muscles contract and relax hoti hai tb ek electrical signal generate hota hai jisko bolte hai EMG. Hum uss signal ko sense krk amplify kr rahe hai using our sensor Muscle BioAmp Shield aur phr uss signal ko use kr rahe hai to control servo claw. Aur koi doubts ho toh please bataiye!

      It's a single channel EEG (well, EXG. But used on the brain here, so EEG). And it can control anything that a computer can control, but only to a degree. You won't be using this to type out a novel or anything, but you can control, say, whether a car is going forward or backward.

    Been working on a project to send eye-blink activity over OSC protocol. - I'm having trouble getting meaningful readings from mine. I'm using the Candy with a 3.3v supply & a Pi Pico W. Originally, I tested the Candy using a Teensy 2.0 and a USB debug hid listener, and applied it to the bicep. This worked well. Since porting my code to the Pi Pico W, I haven't been able to get consistent values with meaning. Is the Candy not suitable for eye-blink detection? I've noticed the filters implemented in various examples use different sets of values. Could it be that I need one tailored to my device and sample rate? Thanks

      Great that Muscle BioAmp Candy is working well for recording EMG signals from biceps. Please note that it is a muscle sensor and it's not built in a way to record eye blinks or EOG signals. To record EOG, we have a BioAmp EXG Pill that can record all the biopotential signals from your body (EEG, EMG, ECG or EOG).

    Will your boxy gel electrodes be fine if they're kept in their sealed bag at around 35 C or is it better to refrigerate them?

      Storing them at room temperature will work. Just make sure you keep them in a sealed bag or zip locks.

      Hey, How many servo motors are you trying to control? Please note that Muscle BioAmp Patchy is a single channel muscle sensor, so 1 Muscle BioAmp Patchy can only be used to control 1 servo motor. Also the minimum voltage required for both Muscle BioAmp Patchy and the servo motor is 5V.
