My son, who is on the mild side of the autism spectrum. The night he was supposed to cross over from cub to scout, he was terrified. He started his journey and said just give it three months, just 3 months. I said that a lot. Somewhere down the road, that anxious little boy became a man.

Migraines and the Keto Diet

My update to botox, and my success with the Keto Diet. During weight loss I ate 20 grams carbs, 95 grams protein and 50ish grams fat. Now that I'm medical keto I eat 60 grams protein (this will vary per person), 20 grams carbs and 130ish grams fat (the goal is a 3:1:1 ratio of fat to protein to carbs). My migraines are gone!!!!

Botox Injections for Migraines: Day 1, getting the injections
Просмотров 11 тыс.10 лет назад
This is a video talking about my experience with botox injections specifically for headaches/migraines, given by my neurologist. I can't tell you if this will work for your specific case, that's something you will need to discuss with your doctor. But I wanted to share my personal experience so that those looking for information on the process and how it felt would have something to see. Hope i...
Are you still taking Ingrezza? Hello from Romania!
Hi! I am not. Ins will no longer cover it and i am allergic to Austedo, which is the other med choice.
Are Tardive Dyskinesia and Dyskinesia the same thing? As far as I know, "tardive" means "late onset". So if you start a med in 2024 and the dyskinesia doesn't begin until 2026, that is tardive. But if the symptoms begin immediately, is it still called Tardive Dyskinesia?
What do use use for chapped lips?
👏👏👏👏
Did you hit yourself ? Grand Daughter wakes up with voilent moments? Waiting on sleep study results?
No i did not. That sounds like a tic possibly. My son has Tourette’s and’s that is a type of tic that some can have.
:) I was navigating some info about TD and found this channel. Having watched a couple of your videos, I got to have a little hope that my TD will be gone one day.. ❤
Hey don’t forget to go get that new mental health drug igreeza it helps fight side effects from other mental health drugs and it causes side effects too but we’ll soon make another pill to treat that drug’s dangerous side effects too 😂 get off all those bogus mental health SSRIs etc they almost cost me my life slamming my truck into a wall at 80 mph. Finally I told my doctors kiss my ass take your Non Narcotic dangerous bull shit and kiss my ass. Been great no problems ever since. Everyone that goes to any mental health doctor is Bipolar Schizophrenia Manic Depression everything they can think of to push as much shit on you as possible don’t Fall for it. It’s Natural for people in their late teens 20s to mid 30s sometimes to experience anxiety etc it’s because your brain is going from child to adult and it can cause serious problems. Just drink a little alcohol like I did but don’t make it an habit and you’ll be fine. Biggest Help is Stay Busy. An idle Mind is the Devils Playground. God Bless you all.
If I was your child I would prefere to deal with the mood swings that to see you kill yourself with these drugs. Have you tried Jesus.
aRE you not afraid of getting Parkinson's? Its a side effect of ingressa
That is the reason i stopped using it. I do miss it though. When I’m stressed, my TD really shows up. I’ve developed some facial movements now as well.
I’m sorry to hear that you have to deal with so many different conditions. Thank you for sharing your situation. My best wishes go out to you, and may the Lord be with you.
ARRGH MATEY I HOPE YE ONE DAY BREAK THE CURSE OF DAVEY JONES LOCKER. ARRRRRRGH
Great video!! Thank you so much for doing this... I have DID as well. Information is so powerful!! ❤ I'm working on a video series, I will share soon.. Thank you again! 😘
Thanks for the update
hi . is td go away or not?
I apologize for leaving you all hanging with no info. It comes and goes. Depends on my stress level. I promise to make a video for everyone this weekend.
how were you able to aquire such an expensive med like $750 a pill
My insurance covered it while i was on it, and at the time, they had a savings card. They may still have it, if you visit their website. Now, we had to ask for them to cover it, and gave medical proof that i needed it, before they’d cover it.
Mel, I so admire you. You are staying focused and doing what you need to do for you and your family. I am in a situation where I’m guessing what is the best for the person I love and you really are helpful to me. Thank you for sharing; thank you for holding on.❤️
Mel, thank you so much for this information.❤
I have a disabled and elderly parent who has been bedridden for a long time. She has been very low functioning for decades with advanced cerebral atrophy, COPD, multiple physical ailments, possible mini-strokes, etc. She was diagnosed with tardive dyskinesia, but she has no facial tics, just severe hand and arms tremors. The tremors have become more severe lately even becoming full body tremors (making me think it was something more serious than tardive dyskinesia). She can no longer write and can only feed herself when the tremors aren't as bad. Unfortunately, she is on so many medications that she is mostly immobile and still soils herself and the bed during the day. It's exhausting as she cannot use a remote control, can rarely tell you what she wants to watch (or wants to watch what we do not have access to), and she can no longer cook, go down steps, take caps or lids off of things, cut her food, etc., and when she tries to do such things at night, ends up starting fires or making huge messes. The tardive dyskinesia has had things worse.
It’s the medications. I took care of an elderly woman died peacefully in her sleep after I brought her walking herself to the bathroom at age 99 hospice was about to kill her and came over because her daughter changed her insurance and at the table Ma I called her started crying because hospice came over and was talking about getting her ready for her funeral and shit. She was 87 at that time. I ran them assholes out my house kept her alive peacefully another 13 years
And btw ma was not on any medication. Alzheimer’s disease but I kept it slow as possible keeping her busy with anything. Had her singing online even took her dancing. Any Drug that’s Non Narcotic is dangerous.
i have blephorspasm thanks to the alpha lipoic and pumpkin seed extract i can watch tv 90 percent of the time with out sun glasses before i could not watch tv at all with out sun glasses
i had much more severe tardive dyskenisa then the lady in the video and quitting psych meds 100 percent and taking alpha lipoic acid and magnesium which is in the pumpkin seed extract i take has helped me 90 percent the alpha pills stopped my depression very well
How much alpha Lipoic acid were you taking?

When I found out that TD worsens (not sure with ingrezza) the longer you take antipsychotics, I switched to lithium carbonate which works like a dream. I already dislike the side effects from TD that I will now have for the rest on my life. Did you know out of pocket ingrezza costs $7000 a month. Such bullshit. No one told me the anti psychotic (invega) would cause a permanent condition. Anyway I'm pretty bummed about it all
i take alpha lipoic acid and i take pumpkin seed extract for prostate these pills have helped tremedously for my meige syndrome and blephorspasm i also had to quit psych meds 2 years ago some people can function fine without psych meds some cant u have to determin if u can or cant function without psych meds i have no side effects i trust alpha one hundred times more than any other pill
Thank you for sharing your experience. My mom is on Ingrezza and it seems to make her very tired.
Is your TD better now?
The TD is gone now that I've been off antipsychotics for a while. (more than 6 mo) But my feet still move like that when I get overly stressed or anxious. My psychiatrist says it's muscle memory and there's not much to do about it.
i wanted to keep using it but it would knock me out to much.. maybe i will try it in the future again... there is no physical problem with my tick but i interview people and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Have you tried Austedo? That's going to be my next med (soon I hope). Tip for the sleepy side effect. Take it in between dinner and bedtime. You'll sleep well (hopefully) and won't be "hungover" the next day. I got used to the side effects fairly quickly and they stopped bothering me. I'm going to make a new video once I get started on the Austedo. Good luck with finding something that works for you!
Botox was recommended by my PCP as a possible treatment for my TD as he said it could reduce the movements. To me it would seem hit or miss because which muscle group would it be used on when most movements are from the right side of my body.
Glad it worked for you. I was actually part of the test study for Ingrezza and it was possible I got placebo in beginning but eventually got the real drug and after 2 months there were no improvements. Now I am going to try Austedo and pray that it works. I have trunk & head movements. It really sucks. I took Geodon for years and switched to Perphenazine where TD was the first warning in bold letters. I feel my Doctor did me a disservice.
Crossing my fingers for you. I've since developed a pelvic movement since my original videos.
@@Lilithshaw1069 OMG! My shrink said TD is not progressive like Parkinsons. You said you took 2 more drugs after Geodon as I recall, I think it was the last one that did it. For me I think I maxed out my drug benefit with medicare and had to stop Geodon and pay out of pocket. I am sort of a cheap person. I think it would have cost me like $200 a month for the Generic Geodon and I so wish I paid it as the Perphenazine is a older Antipsychotic drug. My doctor mentioned possible tics and I wish that were the case. I have been taking Baclofen which is a muscle relaxer. Valium worked better but caused bed wetting 😮💨 maybe Baclofen would work for you. I also used cyclobenzaprine prior. Just a thought.
Please reply how much time botox is last for you? Please reply
If I remember correctly, the injections lasted about two and a half months. And I got injections every three months.
Has any of you tried Ibogaine when having Tardive Dyskinesia? It works on cocaine and opioid addicts and brings the receptor to its default function. I wonder if this could be helpful in the treatment. Have any of you done experiments with it?
Have not, but it's something to research. Thanks!
Learn to pronounce it correctly… 🤦🏻♂️
Yes, I realize now that I've been saying it incorrectly. Can't change the videos though...
@@Lilithshaw1069 Jehovah loves you and prayers to you and your family, prayers that one day soon you will not have to take any of those things!
Just smoke weed!!! It won't give you any side effects , other than the munchies. Big pharma can kiss my cannabis a$$🤣🤣🤣 oh yea don't forget. "So called mental health meds" can cause suicidal thoughts, diarrhea, constipation, o H yea possible liver failure. Do ya really think big pharma really tests these? I mean really? Ppl open your eyes. Don't white collar workers have therapist? Oh yea they're the ones who prescribe it. Like I said...
I would, but I'm sadly very allergic!
Have you experienced weight gain on Ingrezza?
Not any that I noticed when I started it.
I've been suffering from residual schizophrenia for more than ten years..But my psychiatrist prescribed me many antipsychotic medication at extremely low dose and I'm on clozapine right now...Clozapine is one of the best antipsychotic medication in recent years..And this antipsychotic medication has also shown to significantly alleviate the symptoms of tardive dyskinesia..You can talk to your psychiatrist...Get well soon and I admire your courage..
I so appreciate your bravery and honesty 💜 Unfortunately I am currently in a no win situation with my TD. Ya see I was given Haldol at a very young age which paralyzed me for 6 months. I was a zombie and was helpless. Traumatized events added to my depression........Melaril was no good. At every turn I was just getting sicker and sicker. Doctors didnt care. I came off everything completely. Then with the support of my family miraculously I was 33 years without any drugs accept smoking cigarettes. I know that's bad but that was all I had. Then I got hit with more devastation.......They shot me up with Geodone and then gave me Resperdol which is what did me in. It took me down in 4 months. Traumatized my brain immediately.......then emergency room with addivan to calm the nerve damage this poisonous drug did to me. Now throw menopause on top of it all. I fight for my life everyday......every breathe, every moment, every minute of the day. Oh I also quit smokin after 34 years too. Actually I'm quite fortunate I can type this right now. All I can say is.......my heart goes out to anyone dealing with this. Its ruined my life, that's for sure. I can only pray that someday with the help of God that all this pain and suffering shall be no more and that HE wipe out every tear from our eyes. Thank You and May God Bless Us Everyone. 💜🙏💜
resperdole has damaged me to barely live, i doubt i live much longer, its taken me apart, cant ....doctor gave it to me ayear, did not tell me it damaged brains and life
Sadly, I understand what you’re saying. I hope that you will find relief and that your symptoms will ease up.❤
God will heal you for sure and now He suffers with you.
I’ve just come across your videos, and they have been very helpful as I begin helping a loved one to navigate TD and the tightrope-walk that is the treatment of multiple concurrent diagnoses. Thank you for your honesty, and willingness to share your experiences on the journey to find a balance of therapies that works for yourself and your family. Love, strength, and healing to you.
Levodopa can also cause dyskinesia!
Did you take ingrezza while on geodon? I think the hand tremors is a side effect on geodon and should go away if you discontinue
Yes I am on both. I cannot discontinue the Geodon. I just live with it.
@@Lilithshaw1069 I don't know if it is good to take a dopamine depleting agent and a dopamine blocking agent at the same time. You need dopamine for good brain function
Thank you for your video. I’ve recently been diagnosed with td. My mouth is very sore. Dr put me on 5mg clonazipam it did nothing. Today I begged the doc for help. Told him I usually don’t reach for rum marijuana and gummies along with cbd oil. Dr gave me clonazipam 3 times a day plus 50mg of trazidone. We will see what happens thanks for listening. I hope by now you are much better!
Don’t take that clonazepam throw it away you’ll be sorry when you try to get off of it it’s the biggest hell you’ll ever enter
@@vintagebleachedblonde4322 Thank you You feel the same way I did all it did was make me feel stoned and paranoid. I realize though that my body was sensitive to medication. I forgot about this message. Just want to say if anyone has been diagnosed wit this. ( doctors misdiagnosed me I found out) The important information I have found out is that a mix of CBD and THC oil through a pain clinic has worked for me
Why you come back on APs? You should feeling better off them. More dopamine = more happines
Because the brain doesn't always work that way... I wasn't stable on the depakote. I need the antipsychotic element. I'm getting ready to switch back to geodon from vraylar due to metabolic syndrome though. I was mostly ok on the geodon. No huge symptoms that the ingrezza couldn't manage. On the vraylar things are definitely noticeable. Unfortunately it just works out that way sometimes. That's life. *shrug* I"m ok with it.
Bipolar is a very odd creature. I am too unstable and "blah" on other meds.
My mother just started this medication three days ago. How long did you take it before you noticed an improvement? She is chewing her tongue and clenching her jaw. It’s almost unbearable for her.
Good question. If I remember correctly, it took a good 3-4 weeks for everything to settle. I ramped up though, from 40mg for 2 weeks, then up to 80mg. I hope the meds help your mom! Good luck!
Mel Shaw thank you for answering. She can’t stop from biting her tongue and it’s painful. Do you mind sharing with me your dose of klonopin? I’m wondering if she needs to increase that. She’s on .25 mg twice daily
@@livyrobertson I take .5 mg 1-2 as needed up to 4x a day. But just remember, I'm not a doc. There may be a good reason she's on a low dose.
How does this differs from Tourette’s?
I'm glad you asked this! Tourette Syndrome is a neurological disorder involving verbal and physical tics. They happen, usually, randomly throughout the day (My middle son has Tourette). Tardive Dyskinesia, the movements are most often constant, and do not involve verbal tics..
I am on effexor 150mg, and latuda 40mg. I was on 80mg of latuda but it made me a zombie. I have noticed lately I have been licking my teeth, or rubbing my tongue back and forth over my teeth. I never even thought it might be tardive dyskinesia. Wow!
Latuda is notorious for Akathisia.
Your a brave good momma ..God bless you and help you
Always good to see someone "dealt a bad genetic hand" rise up and defeat it.
Thank you
Did you experience any symptoms at night?
No usually, once I'm asleep (as far as I know) the movements settle down.. Hubs has never complained that my feet move too much...
Any updates?
thanks for sharing .
