Welcome to my RUclips page. This channel is not really directed in any set direction but a lot of my videos will be about cars and vans as I enjoy motoring and messing with cars. I’m a free thinker & I’m a Shopfitter by trade so I like to make and fix things. I’m happy to work with wood ,metals ,plastics etc. This RUclips stuff is about having fun for me and sharing my experiences and thoughts.

I just put this short video together to show what I did to my girlfriend’s Nissan Micra to slow down the rust process. I notice that a lot of modern cars have areas with no paint just primer and as they get older this is where they rust. I paint everything in Smoothrite paint & have been called the Smoothrite King lol. So I hope you enjoy the video and my micra Smoothrite top tip.

I have made this video to try to explain why I haven’t uploaded much content for the last couple of years. I’ve had quite a lot of unfortunate events thrown at me but I hope I am finally getting some enthusiasm back and hopefully my luck will improve. I hope you enjoy the video and hopefully I’m back.

So saddened to hear your news, but I fully understand your decision. I have not long since started work on my 2005 Carry and have decided to concentrate on the chassis, frame and body before investing time and funds on converting it. Holidaying in Austria & the banks of the Severn before returning to Cornwall and back under the van. Oll an gwella/All the best.
Did you use new gaskets for the egr replacement or is that not necessary?
Hi well it’s been a while since I did the job but I recall re using the metal gaskets and I used instant gasket tube on the rest. Hope this helps

Hi I bought Denso sensors from amazon! I found that the van only liked denso sensors. I have heard other people have had success with Bosch ones aswell. Good luck 👍🏼
Can you explain why the last one is an idiot does he not have the right to use the road the same as you? Nothing wrong with that. People can't help it if the lanes aren't made long enough. What do you really expect them to do
Well if you are on about the last 4x4 I think he could have pulled in tighter rather than making me go off road. Especially as he was driving a vehicle that is equipped to go off road. Personally I don’t think I have more rights than he does on country roads but I don’t drive down the center of the road and force everyone else off road hence why I think he is an idiot.

Hi Phil, great videos! I've got a 2004 Carry which I love, unfortunately due to ill health I've had to declare it sorn so am unable to use it. But with your enthusiasm and the incredible work that you've done on yours, hopefully I'll be able to get back onto it. I encountered a problem with the back door when it stopped opening, despite trawling through google world I've yet to find an answer, a like for like replacement is looking a bit expensive so any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks for posting and I look forward to more installments. Go MAD DOG!
The rear door handles quite often gum up because rain and mud gets into them. If you take off the rear door interior panel, you can take the handle off from the inside. If the handle isn't broken, you can drift out the pin holding the movable part of handle to repair it. It's this pin that often rusts and then stops the handle working properly. Once the pin is out, remove the rust from the pin with sandpaper, clean and lubricate the handle and then replace the pin. Almost of the Carry's I have had over the years get this problem at some point, but it's usually fixable.

Hi Phil, I've just got myself a carry and am finding this channel so useful. As soon as I got it home though, the LSPV brake load compensator started leaking and I know they've stopped making them. Just wondered if you had any luck finding parts anywhere? Cheers mate

I also still have the seats and they are for sale. I would like £300 and that includes the armrest. I made them to fit straight in and the only thing you would need to do is provide a fused live and a Earth to power the back of the drivers seat. I’m pleased you are enjoying the videos though :-)

I used this armrest - Universal Armrest Arm Rest Centre... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07F2D8YQD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I have actually not got the van anymore unfortunately but I do still have the seats and center console with armrest that I’m selling for £300 for the lot if you’re interested. The armrest is great 👍🏼. Getting the position of it is critical.

I need new seats but did not know where to start. This video helped a lot. Thank you.. I had never seen a vehicle like the Carry. I Saw one out in a barn at a local ranch here in Central Texas. I made a deal with the rancher and am now the proud owner of a truck that is really hard to find parts for. That’s why this video is so helpful.

That's sad news about the Carry, I've got to throw a lot of time at the rust on mine, when the weather improves. Look forward to seeing the Jimny though👍🏻

Phil, thanks for this. Great coverage of the process of cleaning the EGR system. I was planning on doing this on my DA32W (Every Plus) to track down some general stumbling/rough running issues, and this is super helpful.

Yes I did. I think I mention it in the next episode but I think I had to change the second sensor also for a new genuine denso sensor.
Hi Phil..you fitted a fuel pipe ( the pipe that connects the petrol tank to the filling nozzle). Mine is leaking and needs replacing if I park on a hill with a full tank it leaks. You said you fitted a new suzuki genuine part. Could tou tell me what is the pipe called and if there is a part no. It would be a big help.. really like your videos about the caddy very informative. Thanks 👍
Hi, I’ve had a look but I can’t find my receipt with the part number. I might have a better look at the weekend. If you go to or call a Suzuki dealer it might be a better option as they will order the correct pipe for your van. I would advise you get a genuine Suzuki part if possible as I cut corners doing this on another car in the past and it started to leak again after a few months. Just explain that you need the pipe from the tank to the filler neck and any clamps and clips. I’m pleased you are enjoying the videos and if you get stuck give me a shout

It’s been a while now but I recall it sometimes used to run a bit lumpy

I wired it too a separate switch. I’m very happy with them.

I’ve had a few hijets in the past and loved them but never had the time or knowledge to do what you are doing with the Suzuki so watch every video with jealousy and hoping one day time and money will allow me to have another go at my own build, keep the videos coming five stars from us
