How do i use fillet in a wall in homestyler, doesnt work for me :((
Great tutorials! The primitive tools are really helpful!
as an architect, I can see many things that would be bad if this was built. Just a quick glance / review: the kitchen design has at least 6 problems I can see. The worst issue being that you will not be able to open the oven door, it is too close to the cabinetry on the left of it, and you are not showing the handles of the drawers and cabinets which will block the oven door... This is what happens when people that are not experienced with cabinetry design a kitchen... Another major kitchen issue is that the refrigerator is so generic that once you buy the actual one going in that space, you won't know if the doors will be able to be opened 90degrees or more. If you can't open a refrigerator door to near 180 deg, you can't remove the drawers or shelves inside it for cleaning. These softwares are helpful, but if you don't know what you are designing and you're just putting elements onto a floorplan, the house will have issues like this in every room. This software is only good to get a general location of items on the floor plan. It is not an actual manufacturer's refrigerator size or make that you can purchase. This is dangerous, because what you are showing here will not be the actual end product. Usually, "wet walls" where plumbing is installed will be backing up against each other, to save piping. The vertical stack of piping can combine and share vent piping. The drain piping to the sewer line under the slab could be more efficient if it was closer together. Here, the wet walls are not together, causing more cost. The plumbing is also in the exterior walls as well, which is not ideal if living in areas where the temperature goes below freezing. The more cartoonish and arbitrarily that you place things, the less it will actually be able to constructed and be efficient in the real world. In the bedroom closet, you won't be able to put (2) clothes hanging poles on either top or bottom side of the door, it doesn't fit... Perhaps change the opening of the door to open outside of the closet, if it does not encroach too much into the bedroom layout. Another issue: let's say you move some new furniture into the front doorway on your first day occupying your new house. There won't be any way to get that furniture into the bedroom! You can't maneuver it through that narrow hallway and the 2 door, angled configuration. Making up arbitrary dimensions is not good. You need to know in the back of your mind the building codes for your area. What is the smallest, legally allowed size limit? The permit process will come and you will need to revise and resubmit the entire set until you comply. Contractors are looking to be efficient with materials, and building materials come in certain dimensions from the suppliers, for example: 4' x 8' plywood sheathing, gyp. bd. , etc. This house seems wasteful because the dimensions you chose are arbitrary and they do not match the size of the materials while creating a lot of cut-offs and waste. One sheet of plywood is almost $100. The arbitrarily chosen size of this building will waste many sheets of plywood... Finally, and perhaps most importantly, WILL THIS STRUCTURE STAND UP ? Usually you design based around a structural frame with an idea of columns, frame openings, king stud / jack stud/ etc. and this software takes none of that into account, therefore it is going to be impossible to conform to these dimensions. All of the dimensions will change once you figure out the actual materials used and the framing required to make it stand up... All of these issues are the reasons why you will need an architect / designer, and possible structural engineer. *This tutorial is good to learn from, but it does not make you an architect, ok chief?* Why build a house and then find out things are wrong, don't work, poorly designed, or cost extra after you build it? This is just what I see off the top of my head. *Thank you for showing us the way these tools can work, use this at your own risk (you should say). Hire an architect to review.*
great to get this tutorial which helped me a lot, thx for that

You have to turn on "View" then click on "Temporary Dimensions" if your wall lengths aren't showing up. ;-)
Thanks, believe it or not, I completely had forgotten this step.
Terrible house design but still a really good guide for beginners ;)
I'd like to be able to print my design. Can't figure out how to do that. Any ideas ? Thanks, and great video.

I am hoping you will see this and can help me. I am going absolutely crazy over that railing because it constantly shoots up into the air. A few times I've been able to get it into place but for no reason I will be working on something else and it will be in the air again. I thought locking it would help but no such luck.
look at all these thieves, Its like a big convention of criminals
thanks Andrew!
Thanks Andrew, great video. I had a question: do you know how to change the stacking of objects? I am trying to simulate what a sofa-bed will look like when the bed is flipped out and in the 2D view (of V5) it wants to always put the bed on top. I'd love to see the sofa with the bed protruding out in the floor plan but can't figure out how to move objects up and down in z. Thanks, ps I used to work in this department of Autodesk and knew the team working on Homestyler and 123D Design before it was shut down, then sold and brought back to life by someone else.

hey thanks man for the video it was easy to understand, just a question for you if you get time I would love to hear the answer the question is I want to make a bus and inside there the stickman is sitting and want to make it move forward so was curious how many frames will it take for that? btw love the video thank you
i'm not him and i think he quit but it depends on the speed and distance and perspective if you want it zoomed out a small bus then it would take 20 frames if you have 5 frames per second
@@boryspyda5721 Thank You so much for the information mate
holy shit i actually helped someone instead of making it harder 😁@@Yash-us2jm

Hi Andrew, just found your channel and watched this house tutorial which is great! Two questions: could you show us how to raise the driveway so it's on a slope? I noticed that there's a step where it meets the garage, also, can you show how to create a sloped terrain? Thank you!
Cheers
Learning a lot through your tutorials. Thanks man!
very helpful and a very clever solution to create fire
I think you can add a glare effect to the glass to make it a little easier to see.
terrible video
the video is good
This is precisely not how to do a roof plan in Chief Architect. It's always much better to do an Orthographic Full Overview first, and then go 3D>View Direction>Top View. Otherwise you have distortion in your roof planes homie
How to create an irregular site plan with following dimensions and diagonals East side straight 48' South 60' west 58'6" then down 13' then straight 33' North side 100' Diagonals East South corner to west North corner Diagonal = 112' South West Corner to East North Corner Diagonal - 92' South West corner to side down 13' end point (start point west side 58'6") = Diagonal = 68'6" in case of rough irregular plot size Please provide email Id so that I can sent the roughly drafted sight plan
