Nice job! Saved for just in case. Thanks!
Holy crap.
Finally someone talking about this
🎉
I can't believe it but it happened to my 2023 model where the right side back seat refused to come down. Took the car to the dealer and the problem was fixed (the tech guy blamed the factory for doing a lousy job) but a few days later, the problem reoccurred. Thx for the clip. I put a zip tie filling the space so the cable won't slip out again.
Walmart has a kit for about 8 bucks with all the necessary tools for watch adjustments I picked up one it’s a lifesaver
thank you it is a refresher for me and it worked
Thanks for this....Great video that helped me take it apart and figure out the issue. Mine was not a matter of the cable coming out and needing to be secured but the cable wire coming out of its holder that can be seen at 6:08 and caused the cable to not operate correctly.
Thanks for the video. It helped me fix my 2021 Ridgeline back seat when it wouldn’t go up and was locked down. I zip tied the hole where the cable came out in the handle latch.
If your watch pins aren't cotter pins and have a slot for a flathead screwdriver on it like mine did, don't use this method. My watch had tiny screws on the head of the pin you have to unscrew first before tapping pin through.
Can extra links be purchased to make the watch bigger?
I have a couple black if you need.
Spent 3 hours trying to do this the other day On my new watch 😭you did it in under 3 minutes
Your video gave me the courage to take a whack at fixing the rear seat in my '19 Ridgeline not staying up. I found that my problem wasn't the cable but friction in the mechanism that prevented it from going down all the way. A good spritz with WD-40 did the job. The Honda dealer wanted $165 just to troubleshoot! Following your directions, it took me about an hour all told.
Glad you took a shot & got it done & saved yourself some money too! Way to go!!👍🏼👍🏼
Move your fucking hand haha
Way to hide it as you hammer it
Worked well for me. Wish I'd known this 20years ago, would have had some better fitting watches!
Glad it was helpful Jamie!!! Thanks for the comment!
Can I have the links mines too small 😆
I’m sure I can find them somewhere!!😂👍🏼
Jeff, we can’t see what you’re doing your hands on the way
Thank you for this video! Dealer was going to charge me $1200 to fix this. I was able to fix my 2018 Ridgeline in 30 minutes by reconnecting the cable and using your ziptie trick! I'm sure it would have taken me hours without your video.
Thanks Donna! So glad the video helped!! Now it's all the way up to $1200 for a dealer to fix this?? Incredible!!...and I didn't realized the new generation of Ridgeline continues to have the same issue...so glad the video helped and you did it in only 30 mins! Wow, You Rock!!! :)
@@jeffdrake869 The mechanism was jammed a little so they wanted to replace the whole thing. I worked it a bit and got it moving again. Then connected the cable, which wasn’t broken. Put the zip tie on for insurance. Again, thanks so much!
They don't call it the stealership for no reason! 😅
Hi how do you replace the battery? Is it the 4 screws?
So mine I finally got out, the actual plastic broke that holds the metal end of the cable. Sure wish Honda would put a part number on the handle part.
Thanks for making this video! Nice of you.
Have a similar problem, great video. Curious how you got the seat raised to undo the set screw to begin with?
Maybe minute 7:36?
Dude has anyone ever told you that you sound exactly like tony stark?😂
😂😂Haven’t heard that Ricky!!! Thanks man!! Could be worse, right??!!😎😎👊👊👍👍
Be gentle to the watch! No hammering, use the ride tools
Thanks for postings. My issue is the support for the seat when it's down isn't folding back against the bottom of the seat when it put in the up position. Would that be cable problem ?
Alan Ross Thanks for the message, I also had the problem once of the leg not folding up...I believe it was cable related too...will take a look today & see if I can recall what I did to fix...I’ve had issues with the seats 3 times over the last 13yrs, was able to Diy repair each time...Will get back with a msg later today.

@@jeffdrake869 any update to this issue? I'm having the same issue on my 2008. Thanks.

Thank you. Very well spoken
T rav thank you! Hope it was helpful.
Jeff Drake yeah I actually just bought a Nixon today. My third one. Love the brand. And your video made it very simple to shorten watch band. Thanks again Jeff
T rav my absolute pleasure!!! So great to know it helped you & is appreciated!! Much gratitude back to you T rav 🙌👍
Where can I buy extra links ? I can’t find any anywhere for. Corporal matte copper :(
Appreciate the tutorial, helped me add the additional needed link to my new Nixon watch. I love it! Thx
there are arrows on the links that is the way they have to be hammered out.
That's right.
Hey Jeff, I got a Nixon Sentry SS Gold. Do you know if Nixon sells the small part with the little round logo (not text) on the lock ? I got a scratch on it.
Hey Gung Fu, thanks for the message...wish I could be of more help on the parts, not sure on getting a replacement part on your Nixon Sentry...best to maybe try here: www.nixon.com/us/en/contactus and phone# 888-455-9200, PST M-F 8am-5pm

Where do you get the pins?
Thanks Jeff, very helpful. After three years my pins didn't quite pop out (boing!), but I got it done.
Followed your tips and worked fine on my Gun metal Nixon. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks Robert, Glad it was helpful!👍👍
Where did you buy your links?
Cam the nixon gold cannon band be replaced
Terrific, was a big help!
Thanks Sal, Glad it helped!!👍👍
Wow... will give it a try later.. thank you for uploading this!
Thanks super duper!!👍👍. Glad it was helpful!!😄
Thanks help a lot bro
Marcos Rodrìguez thanks for the feedback, glad the Video helped!👍
This was very helpful, mine tends to be hard to pull one time and then it is easy to pull on after that initial pull. I will take it apart and clean it lube and put it together to see if that will help. this video helped me know how to disassemble it. Thanks!
Glad is was of some help. Good luck on your fix and Happy Good Friday!
Hey Jeff - very in depth video. Interesting to see the inner workings of the Ridgeline rear seats. However, I'm having the opposite problem. My drivers' side rear comes up without pulling on the latch. Leg retracts just fine. But, it will not lock into the folded position. Do you think this might be a similar fix for that particular problem?
Hey Shawn, thanks for the message. Hmmm...thinking on your problem. My example, the latch and lock mechanism is working fine but the actuator cable just came out of the slot...I've never had the latch system apart before, but my first thought would be that the issue of the seat not locking into the down position their must be a latch problem, not a cable problem. That's my gut feeling...Does the cable appear to be in place and handle seems to move smoothly?
@@jeffdrake869 I know its been a year, but just got around to it. LOL actually was installing a license plate camera which DOES require removing the rear seat, along with a bunch of other stuff. So, I figured while I had it apart, I'd give it a go. Anyway, the latch was indeed the problem. Your video did help, though. The hole that accepts the cable was broken, and the cable frayed. So, a trip to the junkyard. Replaced handle, and cable (which was way easier than anticipated.) and works better than when I got the truck.
Awesome! Still have mine…170,000 miles now…still Ruben’s great!
Just what I was looking for ! Thanks
J0E R , glad it helped, sorry I’m not a pro video guy...just trying to share & help! Glad it was useful...thanks for your msg. Enjoy your day👍
during the whole first part of the video your hands are covering the section of the band that needs to be worked on, meaning i still need to guess what to do. not flaming, but all i can see are your knuckles
I’m watching this two years later cuz I just got one today
I'm watching this 2 years after your comment cause I just got one
I’m watching this four years after your comment cause I just got one.

I adjusted my links with no problem upon my first try, quickly and flawlessly. Thanks!
