Splendid and out of this world, continuing the legacy of ancient nalanda. Hopefully more international students find this gem just like it used to be 1000 years back. People often forget that India has 7 of the 8 most pious buddhist pilgrimage sites. Lord buddha took birth in ancient India his entire life and ofcourse the spread of Buddhism by ashoka. We have the oldest buddhist temple Mahabodhi and oldest buddhist structure " sanchi stupa " So much influence like pagodas have their origins in India, torri of japan came from indian torana and once japanese ambassador said that 80% of japanese buddhist gods are indian gods. If I had to name some , daikokuten, enma and benzaiten. There was a reason they used to call india has tenziku And let's not forget we gave the world bodhi dharma and bodhisena. One created shaolin and kung fu, other created zen Buddhism and did eye opening ceremony at todai ji. Daruma dolls are still pretty famous. Hopefully students here have a good time and when they go back to their country, they'll spread good words. Nalanda is back. Fuxian and xuanzang would be proud.

Interestingly.... My grandmother was from nalanda nearby the ruins (sadly she is no more ). When i was kid , She used to tell us the intresting stories related to the ruins. She said that when she was child the ashes of the books was used by local farmers to Protect crops from pets .( Local traditions the putting burnt ash on small fruting leaves will protect it from pets ). And the dome like structure used as community grainry . Don't know why but the crops were safe there from any kind of pets and temperature effect.She tells us a lot but as the time passed i forgot most of the things 😢. For most of the year the ruins area was a kind of community property but time passed and it became UNESCO world heritage. But the villagers are still there.❤
