Have fun and take care of yourself. Drink before you get thirsty and eat before you get hungry. If you get the chance. Before the race. Use a bathroom. And 10 minute later if you feel the need. Use it again. No reason to be nervous. It’s not scary. It’s an athletic endeavor you’re doing yourself, but are sharing with thousands of people. Everyone’s rooting for you.

One of the limitations of some Google apps is that they do not take into account the altitude of the road surface, but that of the terrain, so some changes are manual and may contain errors. So your reasoning is justified. It certainly won't be like this in future updates, but for the moment we have to make do.
