I am Jon, and this is my musical jonsemble. A little tin pan alley, a little goth-punk, a little whatever makes me feel good. I've played in rock bands, sung in barbershop quartets, I wrote a musical, I've written soundtracks for film, and now I make little you tube videos.

The Song Somebody That I Used To Know from the Album Figure 8 by Elliott Smith The meter of the chord changes and the melody and phrasing are unique, nobody but Elliott would come up with this. It makes it hard to learn but enjoyable, I played it over and over for about an hour last night while I was supposed to be doing something else.

I cover James Taylor's great song Fire and Rain. I forgot to un-mirror the cell phone video so it looks like I'm playing left handed but I'm not. I don't use a capo really ever so this is probably different from the regular way of doing it, it's just my way. #jamestaylor #fireandrain #guitar #cover

The rest of the arrangement is quite true to the original aside from playing the cello part on the bass and filling in the viola with samples because I don't play viola or cello.
