Yes, we Nagas don't exactly know where we came from as we don't have script. Our history was passed down orally. So, during migration and with the passage of time, some might have forgotten and story became different. However, with Tenyimia's migration history, all Tenyimi brothers rested at Makhrai Rabu/ Makhel and then dispersed to various places where we are now. The Banyan Tree holds a very significant place in our history as it is believed to have grown on the Tomb of our Mother. You will see all Tenyimi brothers have Placed a stone with their tribe name scripted on it. There is a Sacred Wild Pear Tree (the dispersal tree), planted by our forefathers at Shajouba a village next to Makhel, that generations of Makhel will be known by paying reverence to it.
