Definitely more than negligible on a non ported Prodigy. In this video the V10 ports worked great, adding the comp was a bit of a help on muzzle rise as you saw.. the reason I could shoot faster with the comp was the dot stayed stiller so my follow up shots were faster!

Thanks, just tinkering around and decided to build a comp’d Prodigy.. Everyone knows I like V ports better but, I figured why not do this upgrade… I am doing another Prodigy with a major facelift and upgrade build with V ports, it will be interesting to see how they do against each other…

I own both, prior to the Cosaint HAVOC, I shot my XC a lot, I even upgraded the trigger and put a Cheely Grip on it. It’s a good gun, but the HAVOC certainly shoots better!

MBX 140/141 mm 23 rounds of 9mm capacity

It is with the aluminum grip, my personal gun has a stainless steel grip. That’s why it’s 50 ounces. With aluminum grip and SRO it’s only 41.8 ounce.

With aluminum grip it only weighs 41.8 oz with SRO.. .. mine has heavy Stainless Steel Grip that’s why it’s 50z..

@@VenableRacing Indeed! Gonna have to get me a CoSaint to add to the stable at some point. I’m too poor, having just ordered a TRS Comp and an ACW HiCap Full Rail, and all the costs in building PCC’s, Race 22 pistols and rifles for all 5 of my kiddos steel challenge matches; not to mention my wife’s CZ addiction! We truly are in the golden age of firearms right now. So many good choices!

I will do a full range test and review after I get it V10 ported. Hope to get it in line for the porting and possible custom Cerakote tomorrow! Should be a quick turnaround!

V10 ports by Cosaint Arms, had them done today. Did not wait for warranty to run out.. shot over 300 rounds break in with no issues and off to get ported and Cerakoted ..

Thanks, it’s been a very fun project with these HAVOC’s even more rewarding since they shoot so flat, fast and smooth. Plus you know they passed my very stringent accuracy and ammo board tests!

I use mostly S&B 124gr or Longhorn / Staccato 125gr. Sometimes CCI Blazer Brass 124

Thanks ! This was a 1 second challenge someone else came up with.. I have never done this drill before. Staying below 1 second with a 5 shot group 100% in the A zone from 13 yards/40 feet is definitely not easy and I am sure the keyboard bully’s sure can’t do it…

I can certainly do the Bill drill from the draw 7 yards, six in the A zone in under two seconds, no issue, this video was another challenge I accepted from a friend, how about you post up a video from 40 feet, five shots in a tight group like that in under one second? Come on don’t just type , get up show me your video.

Sorry you had issues. 10mm is a special animal… no flaws in any of mine or the 20+ I have shot and tested..

I like many brands.. I have 3 Masterpiece Arms pistols and feel they are EXCELLENT .. 2 are compensated race pistols, one is this DS9 Hybrid.. fit, finish, function and factory triggers are absolutely amazing… My DS 9 Hy is not ported or modified in any way and I truly enjoy it and the service from MPA is great. You mentioned Cosaint and what I like about them is the V8, V10 and now V12 porting and the fact that the customer picks the options and colors,,, it’s kind of a production/ customizable and personalized experience.. The other manufactures, you just buy what they have..

I would not Hesitate to Recommend the masterpiece arms DS9 hybrid. If you’re looking for a non ported Do it all, high quality, pistol, you can’t go wrong. If I’m shooting, something that does not allow porting the DS9 is my choice. If that class allows porting I take my COS 21V 10 ported..

@@VenableRacing I have a new Staccato XL, it's extremely nice and fit extremely well, I was kind of looking to go a step up from that. From what I've seen the MasterPiece Arms is not any better than my staccato XL, I was thinking more about a Vanta 9, Vudoo Priest, or stepping up to Hayes Custom.

I have the brand new XL Limited Edition with Gold Island Barrel.. it’s nice .. but for the money I prefer the MPA DS9 to me it’s a better all around gun.. my opinion is it’s actually a step up from Staccato.. or at least the same level.. especially considering it comes standard with Aluminum Grips and MBX magazines
