I remember in the theatre during this scene everyone got real quiet, its like you could hear a pin drop, you could literally feel the sadness in the air

The only things I didn't like about this movie - the actress who played Lois Lane and the red on Supes costume being too dark.

I believe lex did this for himself and on behalf of all criminals that Superman has imprisoned, this was injustice to Superman, but justice for lex

All I see is Christopher Reeve's Superman getting hurt. And it's nice to know that I wasn't the only one as a kid who was bothered by this. I cringed and winced seeing this. It made me hate Lex Luthor. And I know what they were going for. They were going for more Christ symbolism with him getting tortured by Lex's men and all that. But still, this was a bit much.

I liked how they made Superman lose it shows that when you have no strength to fight your opponents your at a disadvantage

He Was Having a Talk With The Mother And Son By The One Scene, Lois And Her Child. They Said Superman Never Deafened, But I Do Not Like Seeing Ken Clark Gets Himself Into Trouble Or If He’s Got Injured By This Bullied Lex Luthor Is a Coward And Pathetic & Completed Idiot Shouldn’t Killed This Poor Ken Clark Is Getting Lot Of Pains But He Couldn’t Take It Seriously What The Hell And Why Is Lex Luthor His Problem With His Damn Life, Wow. Come On, I Love Ken Clark As Brandon Routh He’s Awesome?

It kills me that superman has no hand to hand combat skills when he is depowered. Not even a little. He should've had a training crystal or something. He had two fathers and neither thought to teach him how to fight? Even in justice league he should've learned from batman and wonder woman.

This scene made me cry

This is Superman’s most humiliating moment that he gets beaten up by Lex Luthor and his goons. Not one of my favorite scenes from this movie but it doesn’t change what I think about this movie. It’s heartbreaking to see Superman beaten up, but despite this, he still comes back to lift this landmass into space, foil Luthor’s plans sand save the world, nearly costing his own life that is.

A perfect example of a serious downside of Superman when you’re totally unprepared whenever you lose your powers whereas Batman is at least often if not always prepared for the worst and the unexpected as a human with no super powers which might be a reason he’s more popular.

When I first saw this scene, I was secretly hoping that Batman would come to rescue Superman by throwing one of this batarangs at Lex Luthor's hand, injuring it, and dropping the kryptonite just before he could stab Superman. Then he would take on Lex Luthor and his thugs and he would win because he's Batman. That would have been so epic.

Entities with powers should also know how to fight (like Batman, he doesn't have powers, but he's incredibly smart and is an expert at fighting), because without their powers, they're nothing or useless.

This scene was a great callback to an earlier line Lex said something about his time in jail. “Even the biggest guy can be brought down with a little brainpower and sharp bit of metal in your pocket”

If Lex only knew humans are affected by Kryptonites radiation overtime. If Superman didn't stop Lex everyone who lived on his new content would've died from radiation poisoning before they turned 60. Should've just used the crystals for how they were intended. Thinking you thought of something that a species thousands of years more advanced with millions of collective information from around the universes.
