Raccoons in our backyard
A nursery of raccoons passed through our backyard again last night. They have already finished off our grapes, so they appear to just be grazing for grubs.

Thank you Paul ! I was there in 1962 with my mom, cousins and aunts. I remember we were there when Jimmy Dean was there and I really loved the burro ride. That is a 61 year old memory for me and I forgot the name of the park but kept looking..........I enjoyed your post !❤

Thanks for sharing
Thanks, my sister and I had some fun times there.
My first memory of “history” is the act of the changing of the guard.
great to see this magical place again - thank you ! I remember that yellow slide on the side of the barn and the 2 rides " Wreck of the Hesperus " and " Old Chisholm trail " - what a fun place !😊👍
Wonderful! Brings back a lot of my childhood memories!
ha.. I was probably there somewhere in that video.. j/k, but I was there a lot as a kid growing up in EB back then.
Oh my gosh. I remember every inch of the place. We went circa 1956-7ish. It was beyond a big deal, and we had to BEG my Dad. I'm formerly from Lynn, and all the kids loved Kidddie Ranch. In fact, when we were in the car,we would stick our heads out of the windows, and tease the other kids on the street by yelling."We're goin to Kiddy Ranch!!" They were straight up jealous. LOL ..The boats, funny face cars, and the helicopters were my favs. Thank you so much for posting this. Much appreciated!! :+))
It is sad to drive by there now and see a DSW Shoe Warehouse. :(
I love this video.
I’m here now at my friends lake house. Nice place

May I use this footage in a video I'm making about underwater animatronics? I will give your channel full credit.
Sure - feel free to use the footage. Let me know when you're done - I'd love to see it!

NOT THE WHALE
The best of times were on revere beach in the 70’s.... delicious Bill Ash pizza.....
Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of history :)
I want to say that this bridge (the County Farm Bridge) was technically in Dover, not Barrington. What on Earth brought you to Barrington on vacation, anyway?
3/7/70 --- at least the date of the eclipse is correct.
We have camped there for two weeks every summer for the last 20 years. Our two girls grew up there. The world has changed big time but the campground hasnt changed much at all in those 50 years since your 8mm/video. Unfortunately it looks like the end of an era as the campground has announced it is closed for 2019.
Really enjoy your vids, especially Kiddie Ranch and Pleasure Island, all gems. Beautiful tree, this is the saddest time of the year, I put the tree to the curb on Wednesday and they picked it up today. Til next year, Merry Christmas. Keep the vids coming, it's appreciated.
Very cool! Paul, I used to live next door to your grandparents. Maureen and Michelle Griffett and I used to visit you and your brothers when you visited your grandparents. Small world. Great video, great memories.
Fond memories!
This expresses well the wonders of youth, joy, and innocence.

Looks like you had some good family times. Nice to see people have good times out in fresh air. None of the sitting home on a video game during the summer.
I remember it well. Was there earlier than 1965. They were behind the North Shore mall way before the mall expanded. Was just behind Sears. My family didn't have much money but a nice neighbor that didn't have or couldn't have kids. Used to baby sit me & take me there. I think it was more like 1961 I went. The little flying planes went up & down with air pressure & the kids controlled them from inside. I don't remember seat belts in them or the little cars. How times change. 2/2108 now & I am 61 years old, fun memories
I was the one in the red hat driving the red car... just a few years behind you!
Found your vid just looking on the computer at driving in Peabody. That's how I bumped into your vid at the mall. I also found one from Barrington water ski vid. The funny thing 1974 I was at Pine Acres Campground in Raymond N.H. most of that summer. Back when rt 101 was just a two lane road. Used to commute back & forth to Lynn for work. Also went to New England Dragway & Star Speedway a lot back then. Water skied on Lampry river once .Small World Hey
That is my husbands grandfather.
Hi, My father back about 80 years ago "Boxed" Red Hayes with a few other young men in a boxing club in East Rochester. Does anyone in the family have any Pictures, letters or info on that ? Jon C.
Paul do you have any whalom park, paragon park
Thanks paul for the great memories of the past do have any home movies of Jordan marsh enchanted village at Christmas
rip rex you were a great childhood hero and a friend. will miss you
Was this amusement park named after the place in Pinocchio where naughty boys were brought to be turned into donkeys and sold as slaves, or was it just a coincidence?
Now that I think of it that place called the land of all work and no play.
Lose a lot of fishing lures cause of that whale!! Bottom of edgewater which it is called now
Did anybody who heard their parents or grandparents were going to take them here have fears that they were going to be turned into donkeys if they went or think that it would be naughty to go here or not want to go because they thought it was for kids that won't go to school like they're supposed to and if they went here, they would turn into donkeys and never be allowed to return home?
Oak Grove , I drive my wife every morning LOL...!!!
i was there!
Hi, I was wondering if I could use a part of this in a short documentary video I'm making about the Stegosaurus from the World's Fair. If you could contact me at jamh5446@gmail.com I would greatly appreciate it!
That's a big whale
Have been searching for info on this park for awhile. this was just a wonderful, wonderful place for kids and families as an escape from the urbanization and sometimes rough stuff in Boston and Greater Boston. I went there with my grandmother a couple of years earlier than this video, say 62' or 63'. I recall being mortified even as a little kid with grandma carrying on and shouting on that merry go round. Hard to find anyone who even recalls it or heard about it now. there is a Pleasure Island Road in Wakefield, I assume that was the site? Might as well have been something you read about in dusty history books.
I remember Pleasure Island really well. Grew up in Lynn. Every summer the local Playground just at the end of the summer vacation would rent a bus, and we all would get group rates, but you had to be over 12 years old to go. This home movie brings back so many memories during the 60's. Didn't it open in 1962 and closed around 1970. It was suppose to be the Disney of the north. Boston Globe did an article about it about 10 years ago, and still pieces of the park, in ruin was still there. I am sure its all gone now. I remember the Wreck of the Hesperus, and the indian spears and drums they use to sell, and of course the triangular pendent with the whale on it....when you are growing up, this is a wonder world. Thanks for posting.
Wow. I remember the Arcade Bazaar. dont remember much......lol...I was born in 64...grew up in Saugus..just as my parents and grandparents did. Thanks for posting! going to watch the rest of your vids.
