    as far as green tag goes it is legit.over the years i bought many different mil tec products from military shops(not online) and they all had the same green tag. some items were bought years ago and some just few months ago so tag hadn't changed over time. never seen the black tag until today. so i would more question black tag(even though the quality seemed better). and overall i am not too impressed with quality of mil tec products

    Here we go again, aways someone to talk about what is Fake and what is Original. End of the day if mostly keeps you dry it's good to go. I have one that is event bigger fake than this one,but guess what...I don't care,cause the FAKE ONE is better than NONE ONE. You people have to stop with that competition for THE BEST AND ORIGINAL gear. Sometimes it's about matter of money. Everyone like to have the most expensive,multifunctional and durable stuff in his backpack,but not aways we have the opportunity to get the best,and that's OK. 😑 Word FAKE is not an option when we talk about need of some piece of gear.

    The tag is legit, you can't go by that. I bought one out of the Sportsman Guide store and saw it had the green tag in the store. We opened it up and it's a Legit Mil-Tec poncho, all the correct features, just had a green tag on it.

    Neither of those look very breathable. Do you end up getting soaked with sweat when wearing it in warmer weather?

    • @bongobushcraft2527
      @bongobushcraft2527 3 года назад

      They are not breathable at all, but due to the open, flowing nature of a poncho it's not as bad as you think. Nothing's perfect though.

    • @bongobushcraft2527
      @bongobushcraft2527 3 года назад

      I paid $34.95 on Amazon for the fake poncho and it qualified for free prime 2-day shipping. I paid ~$30 for the real one and ~$15 for shipping and it took 2-weeks to get here, in total it was almost ~$50. If you think your poncho is fake I'd return it if you can, what is the point of the poncho if it's not going to keep you dry.

    That’s a bit disconcerting for me because I purchased the mil-tec 88L military rucksack, it has the same ticket 🎫 picture as the fake poncho here. But after two weeks of using my rucksack, I’ve been really thrilled with it. Got mine off of Amazon as well and Now gonna see if it is from the same seller as you mentioned.

      For all we know the 'fakers' stole a real tag off some real miltec stuff or copied it exactly. I don't know. In my opinion it's not as important if it's 'real or fake'. What's important is 'works or doesn't'. If your ruck is working for you and you're happy, you've got nothing to worry about. I wish you the best of luck man, thank you for leaving a comment.

      Thanks for your input! You're the first person to actually ask for a review. I want to do some more testing first so that I can give the most accurate review. I've spent one night out underneath the poncho in a diamond configuration in consistent rain and it held up perfect. I was in the fetal position all night though trying to stay dry underneath the small poncho, so I am not incredibly excited to do that again. But I might throw together a review video after I've put more time and stress on it, but so far so good.

    Just to say, I've just received a new genuine poncho (from a bricks and mortar shop locally who carry a bunch of their gear) and it has all the features you show but the green tag, rather than the black one, so I think that may just be newer Mil-tec branding. I've got one of their tarps in the same order and the tag is the same.

      That's pretty interesting. From all the people I've talked to and the reviews I've read it seems like there are multiple versions of this poncho and it's not as simple as real or fake. I wonder what's going on with their product. It's awesome when you get a good one though. Thanks for sharing, I want this place to be a hub of information relating to this poncho since I had to buy twice blindly due to a lack of info on the internet.

      Hi you 2 it’s the same for me, I recently purchased the mil-tec 88L military rucksack from Amazon and have been absolutely thrilled with it. I carry it everyday on my walks with all my survival gear and tent and poncho and rain tarp axe mora knives Paracord etc etc and it’s full to capacity but once I’m walking Within 5 minutes it feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. It has t fallen apart and I tested the built in pull out rain cover and I’m i. Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 so I’m a ale to test it’s water proofing and it is water proof with the rain cover on. Anyhow I have that knee logo ticket as well and so I was worried when I watched this review. But the quality is so good that it can’t possibly be a fake. I just went back over to Amazon to see who the sellers are and here’s a paste of the shop. I got one from Amazon a few days ago. It came with the green "fake" tag. The waist loop tabs were stitched poorly but are of the same poncho material and is tape sealed. The markings inside the poncho are the same as the "real" one. Did your "real" one have a "Made in China" print as well?
