Hello Everyone, Thank You for checking out this channel. I am Chad the goal for this channel is to show all the Do It Yourself people that you do not have to have special chainsaw carving gear to carve a really nice piece for yourself, friend or to sell. I use basic affordable chainsaws that you can purchase right off the shelf just about anywhere. All the saws i use have a standard bar and chain no special carving bars. I finish my carvings with a basic 4 1/2 inch angle grinder with 36 grit grinding disc. Basic and affordable tools that anyone can get and carve a very fun piece. PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BE SAFE so please use your PPE. Follow along with me , my loving wife and my awesome son as we chainsaw carve and go to craft shows for some family bonding and fun. I upload a video weekly on Sunday evenings some are How To's and some are Time Lapse. Join me and my family on our journey through life's ups and downs and as always "Lets Carve Together".

Awesome thank you. All I have is yall on YT to learn how to chainsaw carve. Appreciate ya
No problem. Let me know anyway I can help.
Excellent video! I have two 7’ tall stumps I want to try this on. Any advice for carving stumps that are still in the ground?
After you carve what you want out of them, cut them in the middle at the base and try to spray as much water sealer between the stump and base to prolong the rotting process as long as possible.
What kind of wood do you use to carve? I'm in Missouri and am just starting to practice this but have mostly only cedars, dogwoods and Oaks. Which do you recommend?
Cedars are great. Oaks look amazing but are hard on the hands when carving and if not dried out it will split easy.
Thanks for the video Saved it for later project down the line, definitely will watch again
Awesome, thank you!
This was badass!
Thank you 🙏
thank you i like you laid back style
Thank you 🙏
So cool ! And chill narration as you explain your cuts ! Cool tiki dude !
Much appreciated!

This video is the best ....thanks for teaching us
It's my pleasure
Your videos are great, easy to follow....do more of them
Thank you much. Working on more.
I'm in Alabama also and I've been doing simple carvings for about a year. Bird feeders, mushrooms, ect. Just recently started attempting carvings like this and wanted to say your tutorials are great.
Thank you much. Keep it up.
What kind of log do you recommend? Thanks
Pine or cedar if possible
Really well done Chad, commentary is great also, 1 chainsaw guy, I love it, maybe I don't need to buy 3 or 4 saws.
I learned to work with this basic saw just to keep it simple
Wow, that is a great tiki!
Thank you 🙏
This video is 2yr. Old, you said a rainy Monday I looked outside and it's a rainy Monday 2 years later LOL
Yes. You are correct LOL
Awesome video. Thanks for explaining so detailed. I'm just getting started into this stuff. Made a few tiki out of dowels, I'm gonna try the turtle next.
Thank you for the great comments. Send some pics of what you carve. Good luck
Looks great!!!
Thank you 🙏
Do you have a problem with the pine cracking out any worse than other wood? I have a lot of pine but was afraid it wld crack out real bad. Thank you and love your work.
Pine will crack the least out of most woods. Oak will crack the worst. Pine is a good medium & is lighter than oak. Also easier cutting. If you use a whole log to carve a bear for example then let it dry for a while then carve so if it cracks you have a good idea on where it will. Just so you don’t have a crack across the nose or a key feature. Thank you 🙏
Love the video, finished watching it and went straight out and started one.Going great, looking good.7 ft tall.I post a pic when finished. Thanks, keep carving brother 😎
Copy that. Thank you & do send some pics.

@@sextonchainsawcarvings6955 you have a unique talent
Thank you very much. Just trying to entertain the best I can.
Beautiful artistry! I recently moved to an area where I can go cut firewood whenever I want, and so I've been using my MS362 way more than I used to. I've quickly gone from just cutting lengths to slabbing off boards and using rough logs to build things I need. I find the chainsaw to be a phenomenally powerful and versatile tool for wood work... It is perhaps the ultimate power tool for wood.
Thats awesome. I love the sound of the saw and the smell of fresh cut wood.
Awesome work! Thanks for the inspiration to finally tackle the 8foot tree stump that I’ve been wanting to tiki-fy in my backyard! You make this look easy, which I’m sure it’s not but you’ve given me courage lol! Thanks! Keep the tiki carvings coming please!
Glad to help out. Thank you much. Send some pics as you carve. Good luck👍
Chad can I buy one of the tiki’s?
Yes just message me on face book and can try to get you one. Thank you.
Love the Teeth. In the background i see other carvings- how about showing us how to do one of those :) something other then a Tiki... Your Good!

Glad you enjoyed
Lovely job...

I’m really the only one thinking “chaps...boots...😳”?
The heat and humidity are bad here so I just get a tetanus and hope for the best. But remember eye and ear protection. 👍
Good stuff as usual, love to watch you work, keep going, I'm learning.
We are all learning as we go. Thank you
Awsome video, maybe you would do a step by step video so we could carve like you. 👍👍👍👍
