It is obvious that the youths in Lagos and Abuja were misguided about what the 64th year of Independence meant to the country. It was interesting to see a lot of youths in the event put up The Platform Nigeria where the youths were briefed by various professionals in the country as to what the future locks like for them all things being equal in the country and the government is providing opportunities for them as needed. This was an informative and educating forum that every youth that attended that event must left with some kind lesson learned and a focus the direction they will be going with the various empowerment opportunities available to them. This was very much unlike the youths that spent their independence day protesting in Lagos and Abuja. Even the northern youths that did so badly in the August 10 days protest were seen all over across the northern states celebrating the the independence wearing green caps and waving the Nigeria flags as they danced on the street. With the governors in the north celebrating the independence as expected, the youths were focus on what the day represented in the country despite the hardship in the country. Sowore organizing his so called fearlessoctober event simply was hopeless and unpatriotic. Nigerians in New York were in the street proudly celebrating the independence celebration but Sowore left the US to go and mislead the youths in Nigeria. There is time for everything, good or bad Nigerian Independence day should be a day very relevant to all Nigerians and not a day to be talking about revolution. Nigerians have to know the difference between Tinubu as a person who is now the president and the presidency as an institution. Chanting Tinubu is "Ole" which I am told means thief is considered personal attack on the president which may not be covered by freedom of expression even when the president is considered a public figure.
