One of the best to come out of Hollywood. Nobody can do a bad guy like Bruce Dern, and that is real talent.

“You don’t have a leading man face”. I would have never said that to him, very insensitive.

Bruce Dern is absolutely fantastic in two of his early performances on "Alfred Hitchcock" t.v. series. They are: "Night Caller" and "Lonely Place". If you haven't watched these and you like Bruce Dern, they are must see in my opinion.

Bruce Dern is one of the best actors in both t.v. and movies. The man is a class act. I'm a disabled Vietnam Veteran, having served there with the army in 1969. The part Bruce played in 'Coming Home' was special to many of us. He hit it out of the park.

I'm 75 years-old now and I've seen many of Bruce Dern's movies and t.v. appearances. He is one of the finest actors I have ever seen. The guy makes any part a must see.

Dern could do unhinged, dangerous and menacing right up there with Nicholson and Walken. One of the best bad guys ever.

Live folks are cannibalistic to eat & I want no part of it except a bit of inner-knee meat. Here, chew off my right hip after I dip it in east Tijuana onion dip because I like you like a spiny cactus does a live- ass fern; like old-ass Duke Wayne adored crazy-ass-nut Bruce Dern.

I just saw Word On Westerns video about the movie The Cowboys with the now old Cowboys and every one of them praised Dern for his acting and how he scared the hell out of them! They said the one scene where he grabbed the kid and threw him in the river then put the knife to his neck was all Bruce improv at the moment.

For my generation, the Boomers, there is not a better villain than Bruce Dern. I’m sorry he is unhappy that we love him. So much for what he brings as a villain. In almost every movie, there is a great guy and villain or it’s usually a really bad, boring film.

Excellent conversation. Dern really has earned his chops. A library of great parts. Great that Tarantino still uses him, but give him some better parts, man! Dern always raises every project a few notches. A true American original.

This interview is almost too honest. I don't think it helped his career. He said some things that could be taken the wrong way and I think they were.

The difference is Newman, Caan , Redford , Beattie and the guy who starred with Fonda in They shoot horses .. were all very good looking and had sex appeal ! Bruce Dern wasn't and didn't ! That's why he didn't get leading roles !
