Quite a hike up the hill from the village of Laborie, this clip shows the approach to the lookout platform within a small nature reserve on the grounds of the old US radar station. Looking from the platform you can see the village below and to the south you can see Vieux Fort.

Not so much a carnival, but everyone having a dance anyway in the small fishing village of Laborie in the South of the island. Carnival proper is held in Castries in the North of the island. Each town has it's own smaller "carnival" including Vieux Fort and Soufriere.

It's about a 10 minute walk from Chalet La Mar to the Miss Rose Bakery, the only real bakery in Laborie village centre. I walked down this hill and up again most days for 3 weeks to get fresh rolls, cinnamon buns, bread pudding and biscuits. The prices are so cheap, and the quality is always great.
