Taiwan has always been in our eyes when planning expeditions. In 2023 we have drafted a route crossing it's biggest national park Yushan, applied for the permits and in November step our boots on the trail.
We made this video to show the beauty that lies deep in taiwanese mountains. Starting with summiting Taiwan's highest peak Mt. Jade (Yushan) and dealing with altitude sickness, you leave the crowds at the top as everyone is coming back to town and the mountains are yours - meeting only 20 people on our thruhike (half of which were rangers).
Was it hard? Yes - prepare yourself for landslides, route bypassing, carrying water for two days, dealing with mice in huts. Was it worth it? Absolut...
