Rose I hope you are well?? I miss your video so much!!
I love this so much. I love watching people's TBR videos, but I am such a mood reader that if I make a typical TBR, I end up in a huge reading slump because it might be a good book, but I am not feeling it, so I will not enjoy it. Thanks so much for this video!
Thank you so much, I never got to properly thank you ms.bennett but if it weren't for your creative writing class I would've never found out how much I loved writing. You're class made a huge impact on my life and I really want to go back and visit the class sometime. -Michael, The Horatio kid.
So awesome to hear from you! Class just isn't the same with you and Horatio 🙂 You really are an amazing writer with a brilliant imagination and I'm so glad you found that in yourself and I got to be there for the start of your journey!
💜💜💜
Thank you both so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciated this video. I am currently trying to sell my mother's home. She's a widow and elderly. She can no longer afford to live here and I am also in the process of trying to get a less expensive and affordable place for her so she has some place to go. I am having an open house tomorrow, which the realtor is letting me stay. I don't trust anyone in my mother's home, alone. My mom's stuff means a lot to her. I just really enjoyed watching this video. And the cookies, I so would love to do that but I am not a baker, I'd probably burn the cookies. Thanks again for this video.
Happy belated birthday
Hope the March reading is going well.
I want to read the Encyclopedia of Fairies! The book is so pretty!❤
Right! It just looks like a lovely escape :-)
When I am down or in a reading slump, I read romcoms. Have a great Spring break!
Thanks! I can't wait for it!!!
Hey, just wanted to tell you I enjoy your book videos, hope things get better for you, we all go through tuff times. Books take me places I will only visit in my mind, making March a fantasy month, starting with Brandon Sanderson- Elantris and the one from book of the month a fate inked in blood, just finished heartless hunter, surprisingly good, happy reading
I almost put Brandon Sanderson in this TBR. I really, really want to get to Tress of the Emerald Sea, but I've put it in like 3 different TBRs and kept not getting to it and I didn't want to do that to it again. I do hope to get a chance with in in the next few months 😀
@@RoseatHomeChannel heard it was a good book, so far I like his writing style,
I own three of his but haven't read any yet. I really want to though. I've heard such wonderful things.
@@RoseatHomeChannel think the reason I keep putting them off is because of how long they are, I own the way of kings and words of radiance, plan on reading them soon, I often read the hardy boys series in-between books to not get burnt out of the same Ole same
You are the second booktuber I have watched today who said you are having mental health issues. I hope the Spring will help us all to feel better.
I hope so, too! Thanks for the well wishes 😄
The Heather Fawcett series is enchanting! Loved both!
It really sounds that way! Just reading the blurb for the video made me consider putting down my current read and jumping into it.
You’re going to love Book Lovers. Hope you have a wonderful spring break.
Thank you so much!
I liked "Book Lovers," but I just finished "Happy Place." It did not make me happy. I was embarrassed to admit I had read a book that was so crass and stupid.
We agree on Happy Place. It is my least favorite romance. But I loved Beach Read so much that I'm not giving up on Emily Henry 😄
I’m so glad you’re better and focusing on bringing yourself some joy thru your reading. I decided that I will be participating in Middle grade March this month. Went to the library and just browsing the middle grade books gave me joy. Brought home 7!🙈
Middle grade March does sound like so much fun! I hope you have a wonderful time with them 😄
What do like to read when you need an emotional boost?
I've read the first two. I have the rest but I'm waiting for the last one before I get back into it.
Hi Rose! I recommend Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood for a contemporary romcom. I’m currently reading The Love Hypothesis by the same author and it’s in the same vein (women in STEM). I’ve actually LOLed reading this book! Ali Hazelwood’s writing is witty, funny and cozy.
Thank you so much! I've not read any of her books but I will look into giving her a try. I think she has a new one coming out but I think it's supposed to be different from her normal tropes.
Hi there. I am reading The Women right now and you will not regret getting it! It is wonderful.😊
Thanks for letting me know! I'm so excited to get to it!!
Have you ever considered signing up for Aardvark? Its another monthly book box and all of their books have custom colored hard covers. They offered The Tainted Cup and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde as February selections. Also I just read Hello Stranger and really enjoyed it and I'm not even a big rom com reader.
Actually, I had, but didn't want to do two different boxes. I did see that they had the things I wanted that BotM didn't offer this month. If that starts happening a lot, I may make the switch. I'll look at Hello, Stranger. Thanks for the suggestion 😃
I loved ‘Nora Goes off Script’. I read it around Spring time last year and it was perfect timing! I just finished ‘Better than the Movies’ by Lynn Painter on audio and loved it. It does feature teenagers, but not in a way that I (as a 47 year old) couldn’t get on with the story. It has themes of enemy to love, old loves, grief, change in family structure, friendship. There’s definitely a little bit of a 90s feel to some of it due to the movies mentioned. It’s just such a feel good story..even if it was predictable. I hope the rest of this month is better for you.🙏❤️
Thank you so much! And thank you for the recommendation! I will absolutely look into Better than the Movies
I’m glad to see you back again. Hope life is getting a bit easier for you. The “Everyone on the Train…” book sounds good! I read the first in that series and liked it a lot. Didn’t know this second in the series was even coming out!
Doesn't it!?! I didn't know to look for it until I saw it on the weekly release list on Goodreads and I'm SO excited for it!
I like rom coms by Sarah Adams. When in Rome, Practice Makes Perfect are the first two in a series. I also listened to The Cheat Sheet and it made me laugh out loud.
Thank you so much for the suggestions! I'll look into these ASAP 😃
Hi Rose, I am excited that you did choose The Women. It is my first book from my new subscription with BOTM and read it in three days. I just could not put it down, it was so beautifully written, not a moment of slowness. I felt I had gone to war with Frankie, it was that realistic. As I am from Washington, DC, the ending of this book had me in tears. I have experienced many times over the experience you will read about at the wall. Can't wait for your review! Elizabeth
I'm super excited for it! Hopefully I'll be able to get to it later this spring 😃
Isn’t it great😊😊
I love a good rom-com! Some of my recent favorites have been Book Lovers and Beach Read (both by Emily Henry), Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez, and Half a Soul by Olivia Attwater. I know you also like fantasy. I loved Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson. It’s whimsical and fun and I cannot recommend it enough! I also just read my first Discworld novel by Terry Pratchett (Guards Guards), and it was wonderful! I can’t wait to read more!
Beach Read is my all time favorite romance. I have Book Lovers on the shelf, and I will probably take your advice and add it to next month's TBR 😀 I feel bad for the Tress book, I've had it on like 3 TBRs and haven't gotten to it. Maybe March will be the time! I have two Abby Jimenez in my BookoftheMonth cart for when the March books drop, so I can grab them as add ons. I will absolutely go look up Olivia Attwater right now. Thanks so much for the suggestions 😄
I just finished Book of the Month pick The Second Chance Year by Melissa Wiesner and it was a fun romance with some good life lessons.
I read that one in January and I LOVED it! It was great!!!
The only books that comes to mind would be Rainbow's End by Irene Hannon, River's End and Black Hills And The Witness (both by Nora Roberts), I do hope that you'll read them and enjoy them all, I have read them all and they are excellent books! I plan to reread them all again this year and I can't wait to see them all in your next video, happy reading to ya!
Thank you for the suggestions! I have read some Nora Roberts, but not those. I'll look into all of your recommendations. Thank you!
Did you pick up anything you're excited about during the month of February?
I love The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo!
It's one of my all time favorites 😀
I read a few books this month. I read Under the whispering door. I loved it. I also read The house in the cerulean sea. Both books were amazing.
I keep wait to see how your puzzles are coming along.
It's the next video :-)
Yes! The House in the Cerulean Sea is one of my favorite books of all time. I'm SO excited there is going to be a sequel!!!
Hello! I am so happy to see someone close to my age range give their review. You are the same type of reader as I am and get excited getting a new box in the mail. Thank you also for your review of your choices. Elizabeth
Oh thank you! So glad you are here 😄
What are some of your favorite books with a romantic subplot?
Your unboxing are so much fun, I can feel your excitement and happiness. Have lots of fun 😊
Thank you 🤗
I need to read Razorblade Tears! It’s been on my “want to read” list for over a year.
I read it last month sooooo good
I hope you love it as much as I did!
You always make me smile. And I’m on waitlist for Chain Gang at my library. 😀👍
Thank you so much 😄 I hope you like it as much as I did!
I love SA Cosby as an author, I’ve read all of his novels except Blacktop Wasteland. My favorite book in January was The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell. Bookworm lady
I need to pick up Blacktop Wasteland. I have All the Sinners Bleed and I'm super excited to get to it!
What was your favorite read from January?
I just watched “American Fiction” for the third time yesterday. Try Percival’s “The Trees” from 2021. It will leave you reeling.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I'm adding it to the list 😃
“ Deacon King Kong” was my book club’s favorite book when it came out. James McBride is a treasure and is 100x better than most of the books sitting on lists. I’m working through his catalog.
I totally agree with you! He's amazing and I really can't wait to get to this one 😀
Just finished Heaven and Earth and absolutely loved it!
So glad to hear it! I can't wait to get to it!!!
I really liked Black Cake and the Coates book-hope you find them both interesting! I did a tandem physical/audio of Homegoing, which I recommend if you can. Lone Women, Maame, Heaven and Earth, Rogue Justice, and Nightcrawling are all on my TBR. We’re very in sync this month!
I guess it's true, great minds think alike!
Good TBR!! I wrote them down for when I’m out of my no-buy. Delayed gratification is not my thing 😅 I am looking forward to finally reading Remarkably Bright Creatures, as well as all the book club reads for Mythology, Mystery and Horror (or whatever they’re called. I’m almost done with Herc.
Remarkably Bright Creatures will be in my wrap-up video from my January reads 😃
Good luck with your TBR it looks like a good one.
Thanks! I'm really excited for it!
What are you looking forward to reading this February?
I do try to read the books first. I can't wait to see the puzzles finished. I love to see what you do at home.
😊 thank you! I can't wait to see them fall finished, either :-) I'm working on Priceless right now and it's just stunning!
It’s fun to see the new puzzles you have. You show and talk about plenty of different books so seeing puzzles is an extra bonus!
So glad you liked it! I'm so excited to add a little extra and I'm in that honeymoon phase with puzzles right now so I just want to gush about them 😀 But I also have just LOVED everything I've read so far for January, so I will be gushing about books, too!!!
When you discover a film has been made from a book, do you try to read the book first or do you go ahead and see the movie without having read the book?
So many good recommendations added to my TBR list. Hope 2024 gives you as good a reading year.
Thank you so much!
The Wishing game was my favorite of 2023! It spoke to my soul! I read Under the Whispering Door in September 2021 while my best friend was in Hospital dying of Covid... I loved the book and it gave me such comfort. I really need to get to the life we bury. I LOVED this video Rose!
Thank you so much! Aren't books wonderful things to help us through the tough times. I'm sorry you lost your friend.
In my book club, we each had our own lists. I picked a favorite book for each month. My overall favorite book of 2023 was "Community Board" by Tara Conklin. It hits all the feels. It's funny and relatable and modern and hopeful. I think I might have loved "Babel" so much that I really was so disappointed in "Yellowface". Loved the "Wishing Game". And, of course, "Lessons in Chemistry" was my favorite book of the year when it came out. And the series was GREAT and stayed true to the book. And it was just one season so it was perfect!
Ohhh, I'm going to have to look for Community Board, that sounds awesome! I have Babel on the shelf and hopefully will get to it in 2024 😀
